i basically wake up at around 10am most days, have breakfast, hit the gym and am then sat down grinding for 1pm, i play through to 5pm, have dinner and back on the tabled for 7pm. i now play for another 3-5 hours depending on how im feeling and what the games are like.

obviously some days im having to do other things but id say that is my ideal grinding hours/daily routine.

i always make sure i have a large bottle of water with me and some snacks. having to leave games constantly to get such things cut into our overall daily profit. especially when a rakeback/bonus grinder like myself.

just wanting to see what other peoples routines are and if they are common nowadays. as i think most just get up whenever, grind a bit, chill then call it a day. does having a routine make us more money?

Interesting post. I guess routines are really important to consider if you want to be productive, but the problem is usually keeping to them.

Right now I'm not very happy with my own routine, I'm waking up around 8.30am and beginning work a little later than I wish I could. I then end up working later and it is now becoming a bit of a deadly cycle.

Although, regardless of the time I wake up, I'm likely going to end up dedicating the same number of hours to work, relaxing, traveling etc it just seems less productive when it's later in the day and this is something I've been thinking about a lot.

I've come across a few articles like this and this. So my goal has to be to wake up a little earlier and then hopefully a nicer routine in general will grow.

In my opinion I can see how having routines can for sure give grinding for a living more structure but if your a raving insomniac mtt grinder like myself I just tend to play at times when I've had sleep, food and I'm up for grinding. I tend not to have a set amount of time that I grind for but that again can be due to the fact that mtts can be unpredictable and If I feel Im playing well in a session but not running great I'm more likely to continue to reg and rereg and have been known to reel of many a 12 hour session.

How much time do you dedicate to improving your game off the table? Do you have warm up routine before you start to play?

I have problem to continue to play after 3 hours of play. I feel like it's enough. I play HU where you have to be fully focused on your opponent. How do you maintain energy and spirit to play longer?

time learning off the table i actually do quite alot. if nothing is on TV ill put a training video on or make one. making videos actually really helps. you can look back on them and it makes you think way more in depth into your game as you have to explain it...even just making one here and there for you watch back over may help.

yeh 3 hours heads up is a long time and id deffs need regular breaks if playing that. motivation wise im just super well motivated and know that the more i play the more i win, and in these hard financial times i need to play alot to stay above water.

energy wise just sleeping well before a session, its so pointless starting a session when you feel exhausted. i also have a pretty decent diet and go to the gym alot so the blood is always pumping and i dont eat any foods that make me tired before a session...i save them for after the sesh!

i have to work

so i play as much as i can when i get home. mostly hu sngs but play some mtts for fun

Not really a daily routine here as i have an job where i have to work different hours every week -_-, but i usally grind around ~2 Hours during daytime and than late in the evening again ~2Hours
And during my sessions i always have everything within my reach food/drinks but i dont go as far as having a bottle of piss next to my PC

To be honest, sometimes you could do with this..9 tabling and having to go to the toilet isn't ideal. Laptop into the bathroom it is.

Blimey even I have had to Jezza off this morning far too much shouting! My routine is broken...

I need to get more healty for sure, would love to do some jogging before my grind! but u know...
basically im like this:
Wake up -> grind -> eat -> grind -> work

-> grind ->eat -> grind -> sleep

Fast poker formats alowed me to stop pissing on the bottle, lol j/k but now i can get up and get back to the action!

grinding my self now as wel on party micro stakes never new players were so bad an worst is ther knocking lumps out of me with 39 72 k3 etc

Yer it can be a rough grind thats for sure! What games did/do you grind?
