End of month/End of year Report

Well what a crazy year it has been for the PokerVIP staking operation. Seen over 30 people come and go and we are now back again to just 3 players. I guess we are doing some things wrong but also there are just a lot of bad players out there who lie to get taken on board and also just some players who did not respect our money and was happy to cheat, steal and run with losses. We expected a good amount of this but i feel we have been punished pretty hard. However it's part of the game and we are cool with that.

So this year we are unsure what to do. We promise our current players will be fine and if they are not backed by us we will make sure they have options. Basically are options are

1. Stop staking (not gonna do this)
2. Bring in a 3rd party team and let them run it.
3. Deposit more and push it again.

Option 1 is not going to happen. We want to give back, help people crush and make some money ourselves. Number 2 is very possible, we have lots of staking companies interested in working with us. This could bring in new players to the forum, give current guys more people to talk to/perhaps 1-1 coaching and we still own a slice. Number 3 again very possible, we could just deposit, take more people on and run that risk. For now we just continue as is but myself and Jamie will have a chat about this next month and make a plan.

Year figures:-€4000. Pretty much this amount has been lost total inc all rb etc we have got back. Its not THAT bad tbh considering the BS we have put up with and is totally get backable as we push forwards.

Sadly a losing month. I hoped we would carry on the winning ways but sadly it was not to be. -€498 was the end result.

So, could there be some sort of bond that stakees need to put up? I know that some people need to be staked to play at all but isn't it an option? Or prove longer term results?

I have no idea what I'm talking about, it's just an idea.

Problem is most people don't have the bond available and if they did they would probably use it to grind with themselves.

Anyways like i say its a risk we know we have to take and we just ran bad at times. All good

Hello gang new & old.

It's been a while since I logged in. I was staked a while ago,actually coming up to a couple of years,I left staking due to life commitments and busyness with family and stuff.Im now in a position to re apply and hopefully kick start again.

.Is the process just the same as before?

I'm not even sure if you are accepting new or former players but if you are please let me know the next steps for what I need to do or provide.

Well you need to have good, or at least break even players going for you don't you ? These days a break even player could be considered a good player no ?
Are they following the proper way of playing with proper starting hands and on from there, sort of like a Weazel ABC type of thing ?
I mean there's no one way of playing but there is a basic way you have to start with isn't there ?
Is there any way of watching them and cracking the whip not to ensure they play properly. like no FPS, MUB monsters under bed, too weak, too aggressive etc ?

I guess it's kind of a catch 22, you need decent players who have no money, lol.

I have all my money of BetVic now and am grinding on Stars, maybe if they ship me the $15 from the rake race, I will try to grind it up into a decent sample so I could apply ?

I have thought for a while that I would gladly give up half of my winnings in exchange for hands-on coaching, to take me up through a few levels. Is that sort of the same thing as a staking deal, but not really ? I mean you need to make sure people are really improving and playing well if you are gonna cover their losses.

Like I say, I would seriously consider giving up half of my winnings for that.

Yeh the coaching is not 1-1 based which some could say is the problem but honestly i feel with everything they have around them it is not needed. They receive other forms of coaching but you are correct they do not have someone speaking to them on skype once a week directly. But new things are in the works which should help.

As it goes for good players are core guys win/breakeven or lose very little. It is just the odd person who comes in and loses a bunch then i have to drop, they run or it just fizzles out.

My username was slightly different back then,but I tried logging in last night and it wouldn't recognise my details so I altered it slightly.The site has changed a lot so perhaps it was someone different in charge back then.Im happy to re prove myself any way I can anyway. MonoisDad was my ID back then.

I have around 70K hands graphed on HM2 playing on Paddy Power,I purchased HM2 in September,so 3 months approximately.I can comfortable upgrade that amount to more hands per month though,I think if I remember rightly I had to make 30K a month previously which isn't an issue.

I just want to say that I'm sure for many people, staking isn't about players with no money who think they're good and want to get a shot at some easy money as it seems to be put by some. It's a way of decent players pushing themselves to become better with the help of the professionals. For players to take coaching and play the best with discipline. It can help some to maintain a professional attitude and hopefully find friends and like minded players to help each other out and build a team together and keep each other on top of their game and have a good time with it too. At least that's how I see it. People can kid themselves and the main aim is to be honest with yourself and your faults, and what comes along with the staking can help everyone involved make the best of what they do. I'm sure there's many players who can afford and have no problem to just sit and grind and play on their own, but who still think staking is going to be an all round helpful thing.

4 days in and stuck €40. Only had 2 active players as 1 is having 2 weeks off to sort some personal stuff HOWEVER new people are coming into the team and I have a few people to speak with so fingers crossed we can have 10 players by the end of the month. That's the goal right now!

Made a couple of decisions today which I really hope help the team in 2016

1. Allowing players to play elsewhere. Gave this choice to everyone but only one person took it (out of 3). He is going to grind on Unibet where he feels he can make more money. I am excited about this and will be interested to see how he gets on.

2. I have erased all players make up pre 2016. Basically everyone is starting at 0 this month. The reason i did this is to give our players a boost basically and know that its a clean slate and any profit from now will be chopped each month. The amounts were not large fwiw - highest was c.15bi but i believe it will hang over a player so hopefully the weight is off their shoulders and it's time to grind!

Down 160 on the month currently which is pretty frustrating however these things are never simple.

Aiming to have 10 players by the end of January and going to start a strong marketing push on it to get the awareness out there. Currently have 4 so 6 to get!
