I'm a chk/c flop, chk/c turn with my draw this time v this reg.

You can bet bet bet small with nut flush draw and not have to get called by a set for stacks on the river, when they raise there I think we can still fold.

I agree with looking to 3 barrel AhQc, doesn't need to be 3 barrels big enough for stacks. Vill is a tigher reg btw usually.

Just how I would do it, willing to be corrected obv.

Gl sir and have fun, Ill pop in to watch again. Smile

Like the videos, I feel like I'd want to come hang out on twitch. Do you have set times? I'm not on twitch much so I don't know how it works!

I think on the AQ hand I'm cbetting there, and barrelling small. Folding to a raise. I play very straight forward on NL5 at the moment. I've not got much of a turn c/r bluff range for example.

Day 4

And the challenge so far:

What can I say? It has been a bit of a train wreck start. My red line has bombed and my blue line is barely breaking even. I'm certainly tilted and making some terrible decisions but there has to be more to this than that. I've never struggled so much to get value and win showdowns. I don't know what I'm doing differently now to the last 50k hands, need to do some digging...

It's early days and I've been on bigger downswings in the past. I always try to take positives from knowing I'm clearly making mistakes and have a lot to learn. It means I can work to get better and not just hope my luck changes.

One thing I need to consider though is what to do if the downswing continues to, say, 15 buy ins. What do you guys think about moving down to NL2? It would mean playing on 888 or something. I'm up for that if it happens but I don't know if it's better to just stick it out an NL5.

I may not be streaming this Friday. If I don't I'll try to get a weekend session in some time.

In my mind the different limits are comparable to the football leagues. With this mindset I made step down about 7 month ago, from NL5 back to NL2. Was hard the first couple of days, but at least I found my confidence there very quickly. A couple of weeks later i moved up again and did not look back Smile

During downswings I learned that the most important thing is your mental game. I punted soooo much money away because I could not keep my head unaffected. Try to watch some vids of Jared Tendler, they helped me alot (two days ago I heard JNandez say that he payed 40.000€ just for mental coaching from Tendler Surprised )

other than that, keep streaming - you have a follower in me! If you want we can set up a skype call and I look over some hands or your stats. I have a studypartner at BTS and this is very very helpfull.

Thanks, good advice. I've read Tendler's The Mental Game of Poker and it really helped so I'm probably due a reread. I'll check out his videos too.

If I hit 15 buyins down I'll move down to NL2. I have no problem with that.

Thanks for tuning in to the stream. I'm definitely going to continue, I just can't tonight, but I should be back on next week. I'd certainly be up for a skype chat sometime, thanks!

Off the tables I've had some issues which may have contributed to the tilt. Partly connected also is a bad drinking habit. It can't be a coincidence that my best 2 months in the last year were Sep 2017 (no booze), and Jan 2018 (you guessed it, no booze). It's not poker related but I have decided to basically just not drink from now on. I was going to do another dry month for April but after one day I knew that I was done with it. I'm sure I'll have a social drink now and then but my days of drinking at home are gone.

I'll post an update when I'm streaming next. And a highlights video to come this weekend.

Cutting the drinking will be the biggest win you get out of this challenge IMO. So good for all aspects of your life. Smash it!
