I'm a 29 year old poker player, and have been playing since 2007, with poker being my main income since 2009. I used poker as a way to fund my university education before struggling to find a job in a recession market and falling into playing poker full time. I built my first bankroll on PLO, before, playing a mixture of hold em and PLO up to stakes of 100, now I have transitioned fully back to the great game of pot limit omaha and play both zoom a regular tables, and it's the best poker decision I have made in years. Outside of poker I enjoying skiing and enjoying country living with my fiance and two dogs.I will be producing PLO videos for PokerVIP in the coming weeks and months, and hopefully these videos help to improve your own PLO game in the future.

Jon decided it would be a great idea to start a Bankroll Challenge on Betfair where he would take a €1000 bankroll and run it up to an unlimited amount....however things have been going drastically wrong for Jon who freely admits he has never studied PLO and essentially has jumped straight into the deep end playing 20 and 50PLO to start...with some very aggressive bankroll management.

Tom AKA Hedonhiney comes to the rescue with this 4 part series analysing 2 hours of Jon's play. Using PLO pro tools and his own experience Tom picks Jon's game apart with some brutally honest feedback and use of PLO math (wizardry).

Tom covers everything from pre flop decisions to post flop decision making plus gives Jon key insight on how the other players at the table will be viewing him as a player.

This series is perfect for beginners like Jon but will also help even the most advanced players in these games.

Maybe aren't winning like you think you could be, or if you're thinking of giving it a go and need a guideline, this is definitely the video for you! Jon is learning plo as a challenge - see his journey in the forums https://www.pokervip.com/forum/the-battle-ground/i-can-beat-plo-1000-betfair-bankroll-challenge - and his game is given a thorough going over by the mighty Hedonhiney. In this first part he explains in great depth solid play and points out many common mistakes learners of plo make with starting hands and position. The explanations are thorough but even the more complex concepts are explained in an accessible manner learners can grasp easily. Questions are not only answered but asked of the watcher, which always bodes well for a lesson in my opinion. Definitely ranks right up there in terms of content, explanations and (thanks to Jon-PokerVIP's rather ahem 'looser' style) very entertaining, yet another great reason to watch it. I also found it refreshing that the coach wasn't expected to sugar coat things, this probably because Jon has a professional mindset anyway. Made me laugh sometimes though! I can't see Jonathan being a learner for long after this series. Open your favourite note taking app, settle in and learn the difference between the coach and student's thinking. I have no choice but to say as a learning tool this has to be one of the best videos out there in my opinion. I'm just wondering if the coach will cry by episode three! Hahah Only 5 stars available but nevertheless, congrats to both, what a superb job and mad respect to Hedonhiney for the huge effort.

I think this is one of the best videos ever created for VIP and will help not only me but any other PLO players out there. It shows clear strategies and opinions throughout. I have tried to answer all hands but please just comment below and request my logic for any others. The other 3 parts were all filmed on the same day so will be much of the same in terms of my skill level but series 2 coming next month will be recorded once I have digested all of this info and implemented it into my game. Thanks Tom!

1 Hour - K773 - I like this line and is working plenty as you will see in future parts and just generally. We have the blockers and can rep the straights just fine. I don't think there are that many other 2 pair hands which call here so comes down to mainly sets which call imo.

60% of the time, it works everytime

57:30 - AQ33. I was going to continue on any wheel or broadway club and if I turned a set i would bet/jam it for value knowing my table rep and how little like you say it may look like i am repping. I can have 2 obvious sets here which a newbie like myself OOP probably raises and bombs with plus can turns heaps of equity with nut draws.

44:50 - 3466 - I think having a delayed Cbet strategy is also going to be fine and I can also float turn bets and raise rivers with probably very high success rates in these spots.

40:00 A567 - yeh i thought about ripping but seemed like an obvious just call, block plenty, can pick off bluffs and don;t think I get better to fold by bluffing river. Expected to win the pot enough of the time basically.

31:00 KK26 - raising to iso fishy for value and will get it in vs a 4b or just pile and get some folds

11:10 - JJK9 I thought this was probably going to be one of those good hands to iso with and fold vs a 4b.

4:30 K7TT - I think the raise is fine if player behind me is deeper however he can just pile it in with his value hands. I can rep nut full house on this street and future streets plus this lead I just don't think is strong hands being that player behind is short and will Cbet/call off a decent amount of hands.

Do you raise TTxx T5xx here? If you raise all KTxx+ you will be raising the flop a lot... I think main weight for raising flop is "this lead I just don't think is strong hands" much more than "I can rep nut full house on this street and future streets"
