I come from a chess background. I play chess since I'm 14 years old and been pasionate about it for many years. I've played national junior championships and local tournaments for some years.

Then I quit competition but played a few tournaments in 2010 with good results, at least for my level.

I love chess but can't pretend to take it seriously anymore because it takes a lot of time and because all I would achieve is to become totally nuts.

Today the first game of the match for the World Championship was disputed.

Norwegian Magnus Carlsen vs Indian Viswanathan Anand.

It is supposed to be an exciting match. Nevertheless first game was a boring 16-move draw.

Hi, I played chess also, from very very young (4 years) to almost 20... It is a very nice background for poker, as it teaches to you to stay focused, be patient, competitiveness, and the most important, the fact that the more you study, the better you will become.

Actually a lot of my poker pros friends came from chess like me.

I was very good as a child, but never really got any good (had 2130 fide or so), because of lack of studio.

I play a little bit of chess, but im not very good.

A great game. Nothing beats a nice, relaxing chess game at the park.

It should only pick up popularity with Magnus as the world champ.
