Bluff

A bluff is where a player raises with an inferior hand or no hand at all in an attempt to lie their way into winning a pot.

e.g. "Gus Hansen is known and loved by poker fans the world over for bluffing in major tournaments and cash games."
"I tried to bluff a 4-hearts board with Jack-10 of clubs, but it turned out another player had the Ace of hearts, so I lost big."
