Disconnect protection

Term from online cash games. When a player gets disconnected during a hand he or she is involved in, they will sometimes, depending on the rules of any particular room, receive a protection, where their hand will go to showdown even though they are not able to react to opponent's actions.

For example, two players go to the flop with $300 in the middle. Player A gets disconnected and if he has protection, turn and river will be dealt and the best hand at the showdown will receive the $300 and Player A's hand will not be folded even if Player B bets and Player A doesn't react to the bet on either turn or the river.
