Flat call (alt)

A flat call occurs when a player only calls on the flop or on the turn, but could have raised. A flat call on the flop or turn can mean one of two things, generally. It could mean that the player has a weak hand and is hesitant to raise. The other thing a flat call can mean is that the player has a strong hand but is pretending to have a weak one. This is also known as slow-playing a hand.

You can also see a lot of flat calling when playing against "tight" players. A tight player does not like to raise unless (or until) they have a good hand. They will often flat call, but rarely raise unless they hit something good.
