Flopping a set

If you are holding a pair in your hole cards and another card that matches comes up on the flop, you have flopped a set. The odds of flopping a set (regardless of the card's value) is about 12 percent. This means that if you holding a pair of Aces, you have the same odds of flopping a set as you would if you were holding a pair of 2s.
