3-bet sizing.

In what way do you vary your sizings when you 3bet?

Variables:
1. IP and OOP
2. Vs 2x, 2,5x, 3x, 3,5x
3. Vs. differnet effective stacks: 50BB, 75BB, 125BB, 150BB
4. Vs different playertypes: regs, non-regs
5. Different limits: 10NL, 50NL+

Tell me more about tyour thinkingprocess about this topic.

My usual sizings are :

vs 2x 7bb IP 8bb OOP
vs 2.5x 7.5bb IP 9bb OOP
vs 3x 8bb IP 10bb OOP

vs large opens I usually stick with x3 the open plus 1bb for OOP. This is quite rare I find these days, and usually it seems to be leaning towards decent value hands which aren't folding so much, so I'm value heavy when attacking these opens.

I don't adjust at all for different stack sizes at all right now. The only time I'm going any larger is when 3 betting fish with a premium hand.

As for limits I don't think it makes much difference so long as you are 3 betting for the right reason in the right spot.

I typically 3x it everywhere but the button where I'll min raise. If the SB and BB are both tight, then I'll open a wider range from the CO and min raise instead of 3x as I find this works well at the micros.

If they are fish in the sb/bb, then I'll 3x it on the button with value hands (AJ/KQ/88+ etc) to build a pot, if my hand is average then I'll min raise.

It's a very exploitive style that would never work at the higher limits with thinking regs, but I almost never expect to get figured out at the micros and I do it only against bad players (regs who play too tight or whales).
