Calling 5bet with QQ in BTN

Posted 8 years agoEdited 8 years ago

Hero is in Btn with QQ

Villan is in SB

(Ignoring blinds)
______________________________________

BTN raise 0.30

SB 3bet 0.90

BTN 4bet 2.70

SB 5bet 10.00
______________________________________

at this point Villan has KK+,AKs,AKo
______________________________________

BTN have to call 7.3 to win 20

pot odds = 7.3 / (7.3+12.7) = 0.365

KK+,AKs,AKo vs QQ = 60.143% vs 39,857% therefor QQ can call.

is this right?

I'm pretty sure, that you are right Smile

Yep that looks right. against that exact range any pair you 4bet with will make a profitable call. It's worth noting that in a blind vs button situation like this shoving ranges are often wider than just AA, KK, AK. If you add some hands like QQ, JJ, TT maybe some AQ and the occasional bluff QQ does very well.

How do you feel about the difference in EV between trying to 4 bet and stack QQ/AK vs an unknown, or calling IP, @50NL and below? Let's say BTN vs blinds to make it simpler.

Obviously calling can cause issues with our 4 bet range being too tight down the road, but with many micro/small stakes players never stacking anything worse than KK+, trying to auto stack QQ and AK these days can't be best a lot fo the time.

if you 4bet A2-5s with it, it will be awesome considering they fold to much, rite?

@Turlock : I think EV difference is not that high, it is not bad to just call I think.

I don't have enough info about the exact EV of calling or shoving with QQ in a blind battle but I suspect shoving will be higher by at least a little.
