Hey everyone, I thought I'd re-introduce myself as I have been away a while. I'm Ms_Fold_Alot on Party Poker and Ms_Pkr_Star on Poker Stars, or you can just call me Tanya. I've been playing NLH on and off for many, many years now and used to run a local weekly tourney. Good luck on your tables and hope to see you on one soon.

Hi All

Quick update

Have moved from 888 - got my bonus and got the hell outta dodge as they say, had my withdrawal approved after 5 days so not too worried however still to get to my account so time yet and it wasnt a lot to be honest so they might feed the small fish and keep hold of the ones with big money.

I tried Tonybet but the number of players is so small at the times I like to play so had to give that one up for the time being, had a look at 32red but i cannot adjust the screen size (I like the tables big) have settled on betfair and really glad i did, wow i have never had 3/4 greens (my fish colour) at a time on my tables, but this is regular.

I am currently running at 40bb/100 and i am seriously not a good player just better than what is on my tables, I think HM2 will think I am making hands up at this rate.

The VIP returns seem ok but not quite upto speed on this however whilst learning and winning I think this is a good place to play at.

I will also start to post up my hands and play for analysis now im settled and this will hopefully get me upto the next level im getting close to my £150 bank roll to step up to 2c/4c.

GL at the tables everyone

Cheers

killjoy1987: CAAAAAAAAAAAASTLEFORD CAAAAAAAAAASTLEFORD!

Decent start this season mate!

I quite like the Tigers, we used to be very similar in terms of performance, stadium, crowd etc and always get a good game and I do love going to the Jungle, good atmosphere and decent fans.

We are doing a Leeds this season.... started off ok tonight but just, I don't know what is up with us this year, nothing going our way and everything just going wrong! No prizes if you guess where I'm from :D

LOL I would take a guess at Warrington.....what I don't understand is how you can play so well in the club challenge but look so out of it in Sl.

Your team is a lot better than Leeds so thik it will come good at some point although even at this early part of the season you might make top 8 but will be too many points behind for the top four especially if you lose to hull tonight.

Its a good time to be a Cas fan I know having seen us when we were fighting for survival and with the way we play under powell its also exciting to watch, hopefully we will stay relatively injury free and win something this year.

If Salford can keep injury free I think they will be the surprise package this year and hopefully Leeds will get beat by Wigans second string to burst their bubble.

Cheers

Haha on the nose! But like you, I've been following Wire since I was 12 (1998), went through almost being liquidated, being bankrupt, possible merger with Widnes (:O), very nearly being relegated in 2002 (Danny Halliwell last minute 90metre interception try against Salford to save us - one of my best ever memories!) fighting for a new stadium (needed to save the club).

To getting in the play-offs for the first time in 2003 with the saviour Paul Cullen at the helm. To then becoming a very successful team under Tony Smith, winning our first trophy for 30+ years (winning the 2009 challenge cup semi final against Wigan another never-forget moment, especially having been watching them we had been beaten in the semi's 5 times which just hurts), the quarter final match away at Hull KR was also one of the most amazing games ever, extra time golden point... I was on TV about 5 times and in all the DVDs and highlights of the cup run Laugh

To me though, it's not a good as it used to be... I think I preferred being a "smaller" team, nothing was expected and the rare wins against the likes of Saints, Wigan, Bradford (!), were celebrated like we had won the cup! Obviously with success it brings a new load of fans, which is good for the club obviously, but this new "breed" of fan are the ones that expect us to be winning every game, booing when we lose, wanting trophies every season, I can't stand it.

Obviously I want Leeds to win tonight Laugh can't stand that smug Shaun Wane!

But I have always had a soft spot for Castleford and I do like Darryl Powell, is good to see them doing well.

I think we'll struggle for the Top 8. But to be honest, some different away trips might be quite nice!

Hi,
I'm from Belgium, 49 years young and playing at Pokerstars for about 5 years now.
In the beginning mostly MTT's without much success but having a fun time though.
Now I just wanna take the game more serious ... So I decided to re-start from scratch.
I found the website of 'Blackrain79' ... which I find personally very interesting.
I'm playing NL2 now and have a winrate of 5BB after 28K hands.
Just having a downswing so i'm waiting a bit longer to go to 5NL.

Hoping to learn more and more .... video's, reading fora and training-sites are incredible interesting

BlackRain has some sick strat to help you beat the micros, not been on his site for a while but I assume he is still crushing.

What sites are you playing on @Dentolle ?

Welcome to PokerVIP.

Hey there everyone,

I'm Matheus, 23 years old, Brazilian and I used to play some play money games on Stars a few years ago but I would usually just limp and all-in all my hands. For almost 2 months now I decided to give poker a shot and started seriously studying the game. I have watched A LOT of YouTube educational videos (such as BlackRain79's, PokerVIP's and a lot of other poker channels) so far, summing up to probably 20+ hours and read about 3 books (A brazilian book called "The Essence of Texas Hold'em", BlackRain79's "Crushing the Microstakes" and "The Grinder's Mannual" by Peter Clarke), so I'm taking the game pretty serious and I look foward to make a profitable hobby out of it, and perhaps a living.

I started with a deposit of 21$ on Stars and reached 61$ last Friday playing 2NL. Unfortunately though, I'm facing a downswing and got back to 22$ BR, but even though it's kinda tilting, I know it's probably variance (of course, in addition to some obvious begginer's game leaks) and I hope to get back on the track soon.

The good thing is that I always played online games and stuff, so I was used to multi-tasking, shortkeys and stuff, so I multi-table very hard (I hardly play less than 10 tables now), which got me a decent rakeback so far and allowed me to save up to 3000 StarCoins on Stars, which can be exchanged for 30$.

So I'd say I'm probably a break-even player right now, which is fine by me, since I can still make some little profit with the RB deals and my main focus right now is learning and getting better at the game.

I found out about the forums from the PokerVIP's YouTube videos, especifically the microstakes cash game videos (which by the way are being very very helpful to me, so thanks for that) so I decided to give it a try. I plan to buy HM2 soon (I've already used the free trial) so I can post some hands and some graphs for analysis.

Looking forward to be a part of the gang Smile

Hi Everyone,

My name is Ruby, I'm a beginner and playing for now as a hobby. Hope to learn from this community. I am bit of a lurker because I don't really talk much in person and even in forums, mostly I just read through and learn but will look forward to contribute to the community even in my own simple ways.

Posted 7 years ago
@Rubyxcube There's nothing wrong with being a lurker (at least that's what I said to the judge in that restraining order case... good old days!). Feel free to be as hands on or hands off with our forums as you'd like. However, posting some hands in the Line checks/HH Reviews/Stat Analysis is just about the fastest way to improve as a beginner so I highly recommend that. If you're not comfortable taking strategy you might like to check out Lifestyle & Off Topic section. Good luck and have fun!

Hello, A Little introduction about me

I am a 37 years old man from Portugal.

I play only in PokerStars, the only legal site to play here in Portugal. Until now i have been playing only with Play Money (i know, sorry Laugh ), primarily "cash games" (play money).

I want to start playing with real money (micro or low stakes) but before that i need to better understand so many things.

When not playing or studying poker, i play a little bit of chess and some times i read about programming video games (one day i will create a successful game).

PokerVIP has many videos and i think a good course to get started.

Let's see where can i get in the Poker World.

Thanks
