@Gus Fring your post made me laugh, think I know exactly who you're talking about!

Are you heading up this weekend? I'll deffo head up either Fri or Sat if you are and we can have a chat and play some cards! Do you not fancy the tournaments?

It's rare they break the table like that, the only time they've closed the 50 table is either it's got to 4am, or it has died naturally (less than 4 players). If there's players it will run so it will have just been a dealer availability issue.

AshVIP: Where do you play @MontiiiP ?

I play at Bolton given its a 5 minute walk from my house. Terrible standard of poker though. I play at BNR once or twice a week when I can be bothered driving up.

Do any of you guys use the app to find out what games are running, how many seated etc? I find it very useful!

Never been to Bolton, however it appears to be the only play that now has a PLO comp as Didsbury stopped theirs so I may head up one week (about a 40/45minute drive) to give that a go, however it doesn't seem to get many players.

Only thing I know about Bolton is that the bad beat went there every time Laugh

I've got the Grosvenor app but mainly use it for the Tourney info. Never sure how accurate it is for cash, especially at Didsbury no one swipes and just sits down lol

Yeah the 5 card PLO is tonight. It gets around 10 runners and usually ends in a multi-way chop because the players usually want to get a DC game going instead!

Haha that bloody 25p table was the reason for that! I can see why so many people were irate about Bolton winning the bad beat all the time with that table running constantly. Players used to go clock onto the waiting list at 9am everyday so they had a seat when that table opened. By 9.15am the waiting list used to have over 13 names on it! Though I have to admit, I did benefit once from it going at Bolton Laugh

That's crazy haha yeah Bolton got a lot of shit last year! I benefited once from a table share and that was it. Doesn't sound like it's worth travelling for the PLO, is there a guarantee? What blinds in the DC?
Posted 7 years ago
I think the BBJ went once when there were 10 players playing at around 2pm on a weekday. So 2 of them got £15k and £7.5k whilst everyone else got £1.5k each! All off a 25p table! Its £250 guarantee and the top 3 normally pay. Good for a laugh but that's it. DC is £1/£1 but they usually play pretty deep from what I have seen.

Yeh will be there Fri and Sat, gonna make sure i get there early Friday, but Saturday I'll be at my sisters, so hoping I dont get there to late. I dont really play tournaments, speaking of which I was a bit shocked at how low the prizepools are these days, I could of swore that £10 rebuy I use to play at Riverside, if you won that you was walking away with £1k+.

So glad you brought this up, when I rang them they couldn't help me and said ring back next day, I didn't bother after paying a visit to the Riverside to enquire about there 0.25/0.25 game and getting the impression that it runs randomly, so thought would be same deal with Boltons. When is the best time play there?.

Just downloaded it now said there was loads of games running, and 2x 0.25/0.25 with stupidly long waiting lists, but just rang them now and there is only 1 running and 3 seats free.

About this, I was having a lil moan to myself after watching a Trooper vlog, when he said he got a $15 food comp for just 4 hrs play, I was like its fucking shit over here the casinos never give you fuck all, and thought my card was only good if I played pit games, but couple of guys where saying that you swipe in, but the machine is broke at the moment. Cant remember how much they said you get though.

Might be worth travelling up for one Monday. I think there's one on in Liverpool somewhere (PLO comp) but can't seem to find it lol

No, I would say he was in his 30's, every time I seen him always got a pair of Beats on his head.

The majority of staff there are terrible IMHO. There are some who are great and really want poker to be enjoyable and run smoothly. But a lot of the employees are horrendous. It runs everyday and usually from 12/1pm till the table breaks at around 1-3am. Its full of terrible regs during the day and with some rungood its not uncommon to sit with £30 (the max) and walk away with £200+ a few hours later. It can be very tilting though so if you play then be weary of the older, retired dudes who will call your top set with backdoor gutshots and get there!

Do you guys play the BNR Tuesday and Friday comps regularly? I hear they are still the best nights for MTTs there? I might have to join you for these sometime in the future!

Does the 25p table run every day? Might make a full Monday of it one day, play that table for a few hours, then play the PLO comp and then do my nuts in on the DC Laugh

Have played those BNR comps occasionally, they are good, big field and real nice prizepool with couple of bag up top usually.

If you're about this weekend, it's the Redtooth Regional final on Sunday at BNR.

OMG

They open the 50p/£1 cash table in the pit

OMG

It's easy money, pub players (including some who have had a drink), sit down with too much money in their wallets.

It usually starts around 3ish once enough have been knocked out the tournament.

Last time, my mate sat down with £30, 7 hours later she walked away with... £750!!!

Standard is ridiculous, I walked away just over a £100 up after being slowrolled in a near £300 pot after he called flop all-ins for stacks with a gut shot to the bottom end of a straight. He had 67os on a 910J flop! I had AJ, someone else had an 8, we were both AI on the flop and he calls. Turn brick, river 8. we both show. He's still just sat there looking at this cards... so I think I've won... then he looks at me, looks at the dealer and tables his straight AngryPunch

Reloaded and managed to get back into profit after just targetting him. Also slowrolled him on every occasion I could (when I had the winning hand and only him in the pot)

Forgot to ask do you know how the Play Points work for poker?.

Gus Fring: Forgot to ask do you know how the Play Points work for poker?.

It works out to around 100 points per hour you are active on the system as far as I am aware. Maybe just slightly less.

It also depends on what VIP level you are. Blue card holders are around 70-80 I think. Gold earn at 100 per hour. Not too sure about black card holders!

Busy week of poker started decent with a cash in the £25 comp in liverpool for £85. Will lose it to @Gus Fring on Friday Wink
