Hey @Quinine !!! You have joined the forum at the perfect time!

Currently you can view free coaching videos and discuss PLO with VIP coach @Kyyberi . You can view his content Here

We also have a new mid-high stakes PLO coach joining us. His name is Sean Kapul and you can read his bio Here.

I will link them to this thread so they can come in and have a chat with you!

Good luck

Hi @Quinine good question. Unfortunately there isn't really a good answer anymore since as far as I know, all the truly beginner PLO books are so outdated that if you followed the advice in them you would be a losing player in today's PLO games.

For an absolute PLO noobie, I think the best way to get a general knowledge of the game quickly is to watch videos. Fortunately, as Jon mentioned, there are some videos on PokerVIP from @Kyyberi along with a few others. And I have some videos that will be coming soon so you can get into the mind of a mid-high stakes PLO player and hopefully come away with some actionable advice to help you in your PLO journey.

Hope that helps!

PLO From Scratch is still valid book, just google it. I strongly think that for complete PLO beginner it is the best way to start, as it has all the basics that are still good in modern PLO 6max. And it's totally free.

Fortunately for you, PLO isn't progressing as quickly as NLH especially when we're talking about micro stakes so stuff from two maybe three or four years ago can still be applicable to the micro stakes reality. Unfortunately, there are a lot fewer books, movies and articles on PLO than on NLH and some of those are in fact outdated (picking up 8-year-old book by Jeff Hwang might not be the best idea). PLO From Scratch sounds like a good place to start, I'd also look into the video section at PokerVIP and if you have any specific question ask it in the strategy section of the forum. You can also post your hands for review.
