Reviewing month results?

Posted 7 years agoEdited 7 years ago

Hey guys,

What do you consider is the best way to review monthly results. I want to know how much money I could have saved, which hands were was spew and what amount of my losses were inevitable. (Using pokertracker 4)

When I was 'pro' I only ever looked at my results at the end of each month. On Hold Em Manager I removed all the profit and loss numbers so I would not know if I were up or down after a session.

Each day after a session I would pick all the hands I had a problem with and post them on forums to get advice. The next time you play, have a note pad handy and mark hands you were unsure about then later dig them up and post on the site.

Appreciate the feedback, and will definately take into consideration. Curious, what do you mean by "when I was a pro"?

Thanks

Think someone good to pull in to discuss this is @Prostaker . They probably do more reviews of hands and results than anyone I know!

Mark hands as you play like Harvie said. The hands where you are not sure how to play your range just mark them and go over them afterwards. Do the maths, post in forum and talk with better players. Either daily or weekly.

As for monthly review I would pick a couple of major things to work at. Could be c/r more. Defending BB more etc etc. Then review at the end of the month if you got the stats to where you want them to be. Repeat next month.

When looking at results its very tough to go into too narrow filters bc the variance is so high in short terms like a month or even 6 months. Best you can do is look at evbb/100 instead of bb/100. Im only looking for evbb/100 in all reports since its truer to your real bb/100 than the acutal bb/100 stat.

Hope this can help Smile
