Honestly when will this end!

So i have bitched about this on the forum, twitch and just to people i speak with but over the last 18 months I have had so many problems with this place and have ended my tenancy to move out next month which I should have done along time ago tbh.

Now tho i get my boiler tested (routine something or other) and of course it is giving off 19x the amount of gas it should so its marked as unsafe and unusable. No hot water or heating until fixed......whenever that will be.

So a list off the top of my mind whats gone wrong during my stay here

- Boiler broken 6 times
- Kitchen extractor fan fell off wall (smashed hand/hob)
- Toilet flusher didn't work - told fixed 3 times but never was.
- Intercom never works
- Bath leaked * 2
- Windows when shut still let a lot of cold air in.
- Was no seal around the oven which meant it never got hot enough and pealed the wood effect whatever from around the dishwasher and drawers either side of it.
- Freezer stopped working
- Fridge made cow noises.

Sure there was some more stuff but F me what a joke. Pay top end for this place and is supposed to be luxury. Get me the F out of here.

Come to Thailand mate, I got a nice sofa you can sleep on, or for a fraction of the price you can get yourself a baller pad and 'live in maid'.

Yeah that is ridiculous. Even when you are paying on the cheap end, these kind of issues should be sorted, but when you are paying decent money for somewhere, sounds like they are taking the piss! Best off out of there.

Honestly if I were in your shoes, child free, single and well off, I'd grab my laptop, pack a few clothes and I'd be off. There are so many beautiful countries in the world that you can live like a king for not that much money and you have the option of being able to work remotely too which just makes that so much easier.

I really want to do that later on in life myself. Once the kids are older and have flown the nest, I'd love to go for a year or something and just experience different cultures, meet new kinds of people etc, would be awesome

Ok so pretty funny update on this. I have been without the boiler now for 3 days or w/e it is.

So the property management girl rings me and apologises and says "Well I will speak to the landlord and what he may do is pay for a hotel for every night your without" I thought this was pretty generous and would cost them £90-120 per night for around here depending if a weeknight or weekend. Also they said it would be 7-10 days I would be without so yeh £1k bill. Instead I said "I move our March 16th, I am paid up to Feb 16th currently...I will just not pay that last months rent and call it evens". She seemed happy and said that sounds fair and she will speak to them.

ANYWAYS

I get this email back:

Hi Jonathan,

I have spoken to your landlord in relation to the issue with the boiler and your tenancy.

If you wish your landlord is happy for you to end your tenancy on the 16th February which is the day before your next rent payment.

If you can keep me up to date with your plans as we will need to meet you at the property to check you out and collect keys.

Also Gordon will be at the property this afternoon with the contractor as they need to check out the viewing hatches in the apartment and the communal areas in relation to the new boiler instalment.

So to be nice they will let me move out a month early........BUT I HAVE PAID UP UNTIL THAT POINT. So zero compensation, my next week without a boiler, no hotels and the inconvenience of having to move out a place (was unfurnished so have a ton of furniture to move) in a week. I honestly couldn't believe it.

Basically now the war has begun, i have told them what I want to happen and now I wait.

I would ring them back and demand the hotel NOW! Take them for anything you can. Piss take!

Yeh this is a very big point - the fact they treat me so poorly, the place is riddled with problems and their priority is to just rent it out asap to the next guy. Spoke to a few people about this and tbh they cannot win. Will report back with any news!

My bro worked with real estate in UK, basically landlording shit etc... Oh man, you can't even imagine how hard they can fuck you up, if they want to!

@Jon-PokerVIP This apartment sounds like a one huge bad beat. I had some unpleasant experiences in the past but nothing like that.

So you know, you all pay for gas, water etc. The funny part here is, that they got rigged counters obv, and on top of that, they've made a contract with gas provider using some fake name, and they don't pay the bill ever. In UK they don't cut the gas (as they would here in LAT), but send numerous of letters before, so you can exploit it pretty hard and get away never even paying for it - just change the fake person in contract once in a few months or so. But since you're paying for gas, it's all profit for landlord

There are so much more, so many horrible stories how people get exploited. Landlord not showing up for month to fix water coming from ceiling for example (on phone (if picks up) assuring that someone will come tomorrow) is standard, because whatever - money is coming nonetheless!

Ha so I have been ignored for like 5 days now. Basically taking the stance I am not paying it and they can keep my bond or something when i move out if they so choose to.

What is really funny is i got the heating on, purchased a big steak, put it in the over and then opener the door which the inside of the door fell off as i opened it. I just shook my head and thought "they won't even believe me now".

It gets better

This morning i flush my ensuite toiler andddddd the flusher which is like a button coming out of the wall pushed all the way in and didn't pop back out. This broke 1 month after i moved in and took 6 weeks to be fixed (he came 3 times to look at it). So yeh i now have to ring them and be like "so fuck you twice more and these are the problems".

Ha yeh I havn't reported any of it yet as like 7 days later I am still waiting for the main guy to call me back as he said he would.....I really thought he would get things sorted or at least treat me as a customer and not just pie me off.

Once they do get in touch asking for rent or just to speak to me I will report it all then. I honestly feel so bad for whoever gets this flat next. I hope they just rent and don't splash out the £150k price tag which is on it.
