So I recently just made a new rule of no computer use after midnight. This gives me around 1.5hours of the day to or do whatever.

I just bought these books from the 2nd hand bookshop. I usually spend a good amount of time on Amazon looking at reviews before I order books but sadly could not do that here. Hope they are good.

I'm reading primarily WH40k novels and some poker books. At the mo its the Horus Heresy, Vengeful Spirit and The Mental Game of Poker.

The dice man -luke rheinhart. Anatomy of the state-murray rothbard. Animal farm -Orwell . Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury, the little prince -Antoine de Saint Exupery. and everything by Coelho...are some of my favs

The dice man by Rheinhardt is my favourite book ever ... a CLASSIC

I can highly recommend the Song of Ice and Fire books (Game of Thrones).

Other than that any book by Dan Brown is awesome

I am usually lazy to read books when there's a TV show or movie about them. The books are really big too lol. Are they easy to read? How much does one cost?

Check out 1984 and Down and Out in Paris and London by Orwell. Two amazing books.

I've only read the "The Alchemist" from Paul Coelho, good read.

okay this might not be a great selling point but:

for people who has english as a 2nd language i wouldn't call them easy to read due to the fact that a lot of the terms they use are from the middle ages and stuff like that... although they aren't SUPER HARD either.

and yes they are quite long. took me a while to get past book 1 and 2, although book 3 part 1 (yeah.. he split the 3rd book in 2 parts...) was AMAZING and didn't take that long for me to get through. The reason i really enjoy them is because i feel like i get so much more knowledge about the characters and their motives than you do from the series (although the series is amazing too

)

regarding the prize i think the 3rd one cost me 10USD when i was in the states last year

I have the 'Song Of Ice & Fire' books but have not read them as of yet. I will at some point as I am sure they are amazing!

It is deep Harvie but fact and truth. I think that is one of the reasons nothing has changed as of yet because people turn a blind eye to these things. They have a 'Well that doesn't directly effect me so I don't care' kind of attitude. I think now though, people are beginning see these problems for what they are as many people are being effected financially etc and so things are coming to light.

I bought this book as a means for study and reference for the book I am writing, set in the future around 100 years where Earth is on the brink of destruction, the world is in poverty minus the very small social elite.

The book itself is really good so far. Well worth a read if you are into this kind of thing. I love, love love it! So eye opening, its crazy what goes on in this world that we are blissfully unaware of!

Started reading The Bourne Ascendancy, its a great series and this is the 12th! I recommend them but make sure you start from the beginning.

I take it these books are what the films are based on?

CrazyKeri - yeh, but only the first film is similar to the book, after that the films do theyre own thing and just use the titles. I love the films too.

I've never really been much of a fan of this kind of thing to be honest but I did quite enjoy the first film. Never got as far as the second though!

Anyone got any recs for a fiction book that has a message like The Alchemist or Siddhartha? I love reading these types of books but not sure anything that caught my eye recently.

I'm a big fan of fantasy type books. Lord of the Rings being the obvious favourite and a Song of Ice and Fire also at the top of my list.

Finally went right through the entire Wheel of Time series last year which I really enjoyed, despite a few of the books dragging a little.

Right now I'm about to start this one..... Book 2 of the Malazan Book of the Fallen. Book 1 was hard to get in to to begin with but picked up as it went along. Has been about a month since I finished book 1 (Gardens of the Moon) so might need to wiki it just to refresh where I left off.

I am not a fan of the fantasy style books - I enjoy all the TV shows and movies to the titles you mentioned but I don't like my books too long. Not sure why that is, perhaps part ego as I like to say I have read X books this year or w/e. I also feel committed to reading a long book once I have started.

Are they easy to pick up and read books or do you need to have a certain amount of focus/ energy to read these longer novels?
