What Are You Eating Thread 2016

Posted 10 years agoEdited 10 years ago

The objective of this thread is pretty simple, you take a picture of something you ate and post it in this thread.

I'll start off.

Top dish is boiled chicken on rice. Right is statay chicken which you dip in peanut sauce. Bottom is beef with egg and rice. Left potato soup. This is what I'll eat if I'm too lazy to cook food myself:

I missed this thread so much. Harvie just living the dream whilst i am sat eating a a pot noodle lol.

I miss that food so much Harvie. That can't have been any more than 150 baht.

When I'm back in Pattaya in 6 weeks I'll ship a photo of my 15 baht fried chicken because I'm too lazy to walk anywhere decent.

I am very weird with sushi. I have never been a fish fan unless cooked shellfish so for me it is always vegetable sushi but here it's hard to get anything of GREAT quality.

Is that a bottle of 100 Pipers on the table? AKA turps substitute!

Sushi is great, especially because vegan options are just as tasty as non-vegan ones.

I forgot to take a picture so I'll use one from the site of my favorite local vegan joint. It basically looks exactly like what I ate today:

@Jamie you've somehow managed to get your food everywhere but inside your mouth.

@MattVIP that looks tasty, what's the brown balls?

@Jamie my god that looks messy! What is it? I can only make out corn on the cob. Good job they supplied you with a bib! Laugh

@Harvie@MattVIP It's falafel right? I have tried it probs 5 times in the last 5 years and everytime it has been this dry, bland crap. Would love to try it from a legit place as I always see on TV and hear from everyone how amazing it can be!

@Harvie@Jon-PokerVIP Yup, it's falafel and yeah it's hard to find a good one. The trick is to deep-fry it long enough to make it crispy on the outside but still fresh and delicious on the inside. Pro tip: when you're served your regular run of the mill dry falafel with some kind of sauce (be it ketchup, some other hot sauce, tahini, mayo vegan or otherwise) apply it generously and wait a minute or two before you start eating. It should make the falafel less dry and tastier. It works best if you're served falafel on the side and are able to cut it and put a layer of sauce on the inside of the ball. Bon appetit!
