Pool shot to higher "stakes" went super nice. I manage to make it to the semi-final where I lost to the winner. I had *bye* in first round and then played 4 other games. 4:0, 4:3, 4:1 and 3:4.

I am super happy about the result. I played very good and beat two very though opponents when nobody was expecting it. Both these guys play one class higher than me.
In my last game (3:4) I played even better guy then two before and missed last "open ended straight flush draw with two over cards agains bottom pair" ball when it was 3:3. I was very nervous of beating him and obviously to scared to make it to the final. next time.

I bought in with the token i won in beginners tournament. without token, bi is 10e, for 3-4th place i cash-outed 20e.

Today I will relax at home and play some poker.

What sort of pool is it that you play?

I played English 8 ball professionally for a few years!

I play all the classic games, no specialisation for one game or something like that. My favourites game is 9 ball followed by straight.

This one was 9-ball tournament. In team league games we play 2*8 ball + 2*9ball + 1*10 ball doubles + 1*14.1 straight. Each team must have at least 3 players for a game.

@Jef147, You play just for yourself, or do you play any kind of team competition as well?

I have played team events in the past! In England we have county teams within your area which act as qualifiers for the England national team etc! But playing in singles competitions soon took over when I got to a certain level so I haven't played any team games for about 5 years now!

Nice! Good luck in next competitions.

I always try to play as much single competition as I can, but except those "house tournaments" like the 9-ball on Thursday I don't have anybody who would travel to different cities with me.
So atm I play pretty much only house tournaments + team competition.

btw: for how long do you play pool? If you play 10+ years, then usually you should be good, if you practice at least once per week Smile

I have a same problem as before. Playing too much poker when I am home. From now I will play only twice per week. No more.

Yesterday was a pool day. We played team match. And it was not a good evening and we lost at home 1:5.

I played straight against their captain and lost 17:40. Played so000 bad and was very sad about my performance. Deserved win for my opponent bcs he played well at the top of it.
Second game I played 9-ball and lost 5:6 (I lost 9-ball 3 times this season, 3 times it ends 5:6). I mange to step up in this game and played one level better than in straight, unfortunately it wasn't enough. My opponent played nice plus he was lucky in key moments.

This pretty much kills our ambitions to finish 1st and make it to the higher lass without play-off.

Haven't played last couple of days. Was in Spain for business trip. Weather was terrible but food was amazing as usual. This week I will try to play some hands. Starting today. Because of not enough time I am still playing plo5 and slowly learning how to not spew my stack in shitty spots. Smile

btw: Ended down in March. Will try to finish this month in profit Smile

No worries, didn't update much lately.

I was in Spain in A Coruna. This year is a bit busier and already travelled twice to A Coruna and will go there again in 2-3 months again. This time I would like to go for 2 weeks and go for surfing or fishing trip during the weekend. So I can have fun there as well not only work related activities.

Is that somewhere in southern Spain?

Edit: I looked the map. Lol. Not quite.

Not a single hand of poker last week or two.

Busy in work and playing pool. I have feeling that my game is again a bit better than month or two ago. I stopped playing tournaments with beginners and started to play regularly with "big boys" (advanced tournament). I am able to compete and people start to recognise me. Which is always nice feeling.

Next week will be same as last two. At least if we talk about poker. Couple of colleagues from Spanish office are coming to Amsterdam and we already have plans for almost each day. Workshops, team buildings etc. Looking forward for it.

Also I am sorry guys that i don't have much to update about poker, but trying not to let this one die. Maybe one day it will be full of poker again Smile

Another week. This time I did play poker as well. Just couple of hands finished BE. I will try to play for one hour today as well.

We also played pool game last Monday. 3rd team against 4th team. Hard game with fair 3:3 results. I scored 2 points for my team. Tomorrow we are playing another game. should be easier this time.

I also got offer from another company in Amsterdam. Passed 4 interview rounds in this order: HR -> head of HR for Europe -> Global QA manager -> Director of development for Europe. I did it more for practice, not that i really searched for new options, but they kind of surprised me with the offer.

They offered me 1K per month more then I had in current work. After a short talk (10 min) to my manager and our CEO and COO, we agreed on new contract for me. I got permanent contract plus raise. I still had to sacrifice 550e per month. But I love my work environment my colleagues my teams so it was not that hard to stay where I am now. Plus I still have lot to learn, lot of skills to improve and much more things to learn. Money will come later anyway:)

And thats basically it for last week.

Enjoy your week guys, If anybody still read this. And good luck at the tables.

btw: I installed Heartstone. BIG MISTAKE Laugh
