Sticky players are very annoying but definitely exploitable. Value betting a bit more, check raising, going for 3 streets or even just letting them hang themselves once checked to. Just try new things and mix it up.....just experiment until something works.

Awesome month again for you buddy and i would predict 50nl shots will happen around October. I think that is a seriously realistic aim and something we can deffs talk more about.

Yo guys been a while.

I've been very busy of late, started back at work and have been doing some voluntary work at a kids play scheme. It’s been really good fun, but looking after 36 kids and trying to get them to do as they’re told is very tiring and also very difficult.

I start at the play scheme at 9.30am. We get them in for registration and do a variety of activities until 2.00pm. Activities include; outdoor sports, computer games and iPads, games of pool and table football and we also do arts and crafts. The kids love it of course, it keeps them entertained and out of trouble. Although you get the odd kid that can be a pain in the arse and misbehave.

After we’ve finished the day, we tidy up have a little meeting and its straight back to work for me at my main job where I work 4.30pm – 10pm. I come home, have my tea and grind or stream and grind for as long as I possibly can. Hence why I have had not much time to update my journey fully.

The kids have all gone on a trip to Drayton Manor Theme Park today. My knee wont hold up long enough to be able to traipse around a theme park looking after rowdy kids, so I gave it a miss. Good chance for me to update the journey and get some hands in.

So slow start to the month with all of the above, but gona power it out on the days I do have available and put in some good volume. Still fully committed to what I’m doing.

Ive actually recently got a dairy so I can keep track of the hands ive played and the hands I need at the weekends to make this work. Got a little bit of a schedule sorted too which is decent and im gona try and obviously stick to it as best as I can.

I want to try and improve on some spots this month. My out of position play is a part of my game im going to be looking at over the next couple of weeks. Really like breaking things down and having a look at certain parts of my game in little spells. I feel its what works best for me definitely.

As we can see we have levelled off a bit, I feel that has been mainly down to volume, the more I play the better I do. Need to keep up the consistency no excuses.

Other things happening in my life

Not 100% sure where things stand with me and the ex girlfriend/girlfriend at the minute. Were on very weird terms. Could be all over however which is disappointing Best just to forget, keep smiling and move on.

Going to the Derby game tomorrow, which I’m massively looking forward to! Should be an awesome season for the Rams! I was actually considering doing a PokerVIP fantasy football if anyone is interested? I’ll post the thread below if I make one or if someone already has.

Who do we think will win the leagues this season then? I’m gona make some predictions below too. Try get involved if you can.

You are obviously at the crossroads right now in life. At the age where you need to be independent, move out, sort student/debts, improve your current job and of course crush in poker and move up. Alongside this you have a family you care about, incredibly close mates and i am sure travelling aspirations. It is incredibly hard to do this with someone else to care about especially if they are causing you stress. Maybe this is a blessing.

Some people say this might be selfish but sometimes concentrating on just yourself for a short-mid period of time can change everything around you and in the long term benefit yourself and everyone around you. Maybe like 6-12 months single and just working your nuts off will make sure you never need solo time again for the rest of your life.

Your a smart lad, great personality and young.......girls will come back bro.

Yo yo yo. Little bit of an update.

Had a decent session yesterday, which is awesome. Ive also taken another opportunity to take some time off work this week and catch up with hands. So should be able to smash this out.

Yesterdays session went alright, a bit swingy, but we managed a big profit.




I've definitely been playing more aggressive, but taking little points out of my game in order to improve at a good rate. I don't want to throw shit loads of new concepts into my game all at once, it's all about slow and steady improvement. Too fast and we could get out of line and fuck it all up.

In other news, Derby game was shit. I streamed last night and thought Jon was hammering me, it was really Jamie. They are very similar I believe haha. Really enjoyed the stream though. I've just given Jon his apology. I'm definitely in a better routine though now to get on the grind and start posting. I'm finding I'm up earlier in the mornings and getting better sleep at night.

September is here. TIME TO CRUSH.

So after a busy time last month, we've arrived at September. So much to look forward to this month in terms of life and poker.

I've had a stressful few months in life. I've been working two jobs, (one voluntary), I've been on and off with the now officially, ex missus, I have handed in my notice of my main job and start a delivery job for Amazon at some point this month, I had my mum asking me to do five minute jobs every day which lasted 2-3 hours and I lost €200 at the tables. Maybe its all linked? Who knows?

Not having the right frame of mind or enough time to actually get my head down, study and play definitely has an impact on your game. It's really weird, but i feel like a fish again. I know I can play(ish), but I tend to find myself asking silly questions that I really should know the answer too. This is probably a good reason to just turn my back on August and look forward to September and the rest of the year.

Being single is going to help. My ex didn't totally agree either (as not many people do) in the idea of playing poker and spending so much time on it. It's not an addiction, it's a hobby. How can we explain this to people? I just try to explain using football terms, "If you wana be the best football player in the world, you have to train really hard, it doesn't come easy. And its the same with poker." I feel like nobody actually understands that you can get better at this game or nobody believes the skill element to it. Frustrating. I had to put up with trying to explain this to somebody who apparently wanted to be with me and spend the rest of their lives with me. So time to look after number one.

Although I moved down to 10nl, I'm pretty confident that I will be back up to 20nl in no time. I seem to hammer the 10nl games.

I started September off on a high and want to keep it going all the way through. Volume, streaming, posting hands and winning. PROFIT PROFIT PROFIT.

The goals this month are really to work on my game and certain aspects of it. STOP CALLING OFF TOO LIGHT. BELIEVE PEOPLE.

I subbed to MingTheMerciless last night on Twitch, his videos should really help me. He's just class, and rumour has it, he will be doing some videos for PokerVIP at some point this month.

Really need to smash September and hopefully get back up to 20nl and then quickly move up to 50nl.

Anyways nice post man and yeh jesus another month failed and now we gotta go hard and make this one count. You really do need to stop giving so much time and thought to people who dont back you and understand tbh. This really is the main thing i can just picture you spending hours talking poker to people who dont care or trying to persuade them of it. What you do is down to you only buddy your too old to be living like this.

I have said this a million times before but your 25 man grow a pair and i dont mean be rude to people or dismiss advice etc but just do what you want to do as long as it is hurting no one else. Even things away from poker it doesnt always have to be you in the middle of every mess type thing.

Anyways i think your new job, getting rid of the ex and your mum being more onside is a life changer and we are going to see you rocket up the stakes now. I 100% believe this and am personally incredible happy for you. A much more enjoyable working life, consistent day time hours and some support...well i mean this is just what you needed.

I have 100% faith that you can crush every single month going forward but there needs to be no more excuses. We all have life things going on and we all still have to go to work, show up, grind and so on. Just part of life.
