PokerVIP - From 2 NL to 25 NL !

Hello everyone! I am Alex, from Romania, currently living in Manchester UK also working here. After playing poker for about 7 - 8 months but not taking it to serious, I decided to really try harder and to improve my game as much as I can and climb in stakes.

I will try to play as many hands i can. And I'll grind whenever my time allows.

This month goals:
- play my "A" game
- stop playing when on autopilot
- study the game: books, videos etc.
- move to 5 NL when reach 100 $ current bankroll 39.

I am curently playing 2 NL zoom and I think i ll switch to regular tables when I get to 5 NL.
I will try to post graphs and hands after each session.

Tell us a bit more about your poker story...

I' ve been playing since highschool, I am 28 right now, but never like serious and at the beginning of 2016 i got a 2nd place on a tournament on stars and won around 1500 $, so I got a lil "taste" of the game. I' ve been studying the game, but still got a lot to learn. I gave one shot before at 5 NL and it went ok, but I had a poor Bankroll management. I was mixing tournament with cash games, and now i decided to go for the cash and try to really improve my game and play in bankroll.

I will try to post some hands but right now i dont know why i can't save my hands in PT4, when i click the button to save it in forum format nothings happen.

This is the graph for today ... I feel like I'm making a lot of mistakes.

I m still working on how to post hands. Any tips?

I've got no info on the SB. When he donks on T i put him on some kind of draws and he wants to get a cheap card, i don t really think he has a made hand here so that s why i decided to shove. Any thoughts about my shove?

Curent Bankroll: 88 $

Planning to move to 5 NL at around 150 $, or maybe give a shot early of 4 buy-ins early not really sure.

etly lost a lot of value here. Again there were a lot more combos of A K in his range than A A, i was thinking to Donk the river like 1/2 pot that diamond scared me.

Got my bankroll over 100 $. And i switched to 5 NL regular tables. It feels better on regular, I love hunting the whales. I ve played some hours today, I got a bad start but managed to get it up.

This week goals:

- read the mental game of poker book, i have a problem when tilting, especially when i get coolers ... Today it was ok, after I get a cooler i just start repeating IT WILL PASS
- put at least 4 hours into hand review
- and PLAY SOLID

Nice work on moving up! How different do you find the games?

I dont think it s a much difference between 2 NL and 5 NL, but between zoom and regular tables there is a huge difference ... I like the dynamics in the regular tables, I think I will not play that Zoom again. And the Fish are better on regular tables :), I mean better for us that we grind.

Today I tried grinding 9 tables and honestly I feel better playing this way.

A hand that I really liked how I ve play it. I had a dynamic with the villain a lil bit earlier we got A Q vs JJ all in pre at a different table BTN vs CO. And i was 3b him pretty hard.

When the flop comes and he checks on me i felt he was not gone belive i got an A and he might check raise me, so i decided to get a free card and i think this made him think i dont have a flush.

My journey to 25 NL is going pretty wel. I feel like i made some improvement on my game, also on my tilt problem ... I finished my read The Mental Game of Poker and honestly it s a very good one.

What one of the best thing i managed to change since my last try is not to fight fish with marginal hands, i rather fold on the flop when i invested a lil in the pot.

My goal was to play more solid and i think i m starting to do that, i ve been watching tones of videos with hand review and they really help a lot.

I got my bankroll somewhere around 190 $. I ll think i will stay an 5 NL a lil bit more and try to crush here and move to 10 NL when i get to 350 - 400.

I also learned that not playing into bankroll it s really bad, from my previous experience when i had only 10-15 buy ins, when i losing 2-3 buyins i was getting tilted because of this pressure of not playing in the bankroll. When u got more it s not a big deal when u drop 1 or 2 even 4.

This is my graph for yesterday, a lot of fishy guys especially after 8-9. One more thing that i think is important is the hours between you play, at this stakes from 5 - until late night seems to be a lot better, u find a lot of good tables.

I have one hand I m not sure what to say about my play. Villain was a whale he was stacking pretty easy. I stacked him before. I considered that he might be tilted a go a lil crazy that was the only reason that made me go with the hand.
