How many players usually are at those OPL tournaments? I'm thinking of taking part in next season (if there will be one), although lol donkaments and poker rooms don't want me.

Not many man and the next is going to be in Feb - looking at mid Feb so plenty of time to get signed up etc.

Average field is probably like 25-30 tbh. Insane value in just the tournaments themselves with the added value but yeh the 5k ftw in the league is mm m m delicious

So first week of 2016 is done. It's not been the best start, but I'm certainly ok with it. No wins or decent cashes in the OPL, I'll be quite glad when this season is done so I can focus on cash games for a few weeks before next season. But still, 4 left so if I win 3 I might take this thing down, here's dreaming!

I've been playing mainly on Sky so I don't know how many hands I've played, if anyone can tell me how to find out that would be great. The search only shows 500. Anyhow between cash games and the OPL I've played every day, and for the most part have been really enjoying it. It took me a couple of sessions to adjust to the HUGE amount of limping, and limp-calling that goes on at 4NL on Sky but I think I'm getting the hang of it and am ending the week up a few buyins. I used to struggle with Sky but now I am loving it, the software is slick, the standard of play is terrible and there seems to be action all week. I think I'll continue with it for a while, and also play on iPoker on days when the action is good.

I haven't done any studying so I'll get some done this weekend, maybe watch a coaching video and get some more reading done (currently reading Professional No-Limit Holdem vol1 by Matt Flynn, and Kill Everyone by Lee Nelson).

Off table I've been back at the gym and eating better, and haven't had a drink since the weekend (can't remember the last time that happened!). And no takeaways! Currently watching Making a Murderer, and Marvel's Jessica Jones. Also reading Providence of Fire by Brian Staveley. Haven't ridden the bike yet (cold, dark and wet ain't my thing, I'm a fair weather rider!). Hopefully meeting some friends I haven't seen for a while next week, curry and a few beers no doubt.

Damm, if there is 500$ iPad etc on top of 5.50$ entry, and field of 30.. Math will probably swallow me into season 2! Laugh

Ha im literally in the same boat need to win 3/4 to have a shot lol.

Also with the break from it. With playing them, organisation, marketing, updating, forum threading and so on i am very ready for a month away from them and MTTs in general.

BUT i am very pumped for season 2. Especially with the site being updated with my account areas and showing all results.

Super fun tournament! Was thinking it was going to be us 2 who got heads up once the others just let themselves blind away. Cooler to end it off and for a moment i thought you was about to river me to really sum up my OPL. I think i have to win the final 2 tournaments to get 2nd....lol how depressing!

In Tiger and FTP coming up?

Anything is possible!

Yeh I will playing the last two. A win could be worth another $100 in the final payout so I'm going for it.

Yeh for sure. I would love to seal a top 10 but i think i might need to win tonights FTP comp to do so but i am confident i can get a deep run. I bust the Tiger in like 9th yesterday, just same thing get it in, dont hold and thats that. I think it would have put me 2/8 and would keep the dream alive but sadly it was not to be.

Week 2 update. Think I finished about 14th or 15th in the OPL for $100. Haven't played as much this week but I'm up 5 or 6 buyins this month, still playing on Sky. Gyming it 4 times each week and drinking a lot less. Will hopefully get a video done for review this weekend. Out for a curry tomorrow night with some old mates. 2016 has started well! Smile

Well done on the OPL!! Are you playing more tourneys these days? It seems to be your calling lol I've moved back to sky also. I forgot how much it tilts me. What are your thought on sky? I feel I play very tight as fancy play makes no sense there.

I've mainly only played tourneys in the OPL and will be playing only cash between now and next season. I don't have the time to grind MTTs but I do seem to have more success with them.

I'm really enjoying playing on Sky but I do wonder if it's doing my poker game much good. Can you go from beating 4nl on Sky to beating 10 or 25nl on say iPoker? The games just seem so different.

I think you're right that you have to tighten up, especially with button and cutoff opening ranges as the blinds seem to come along no matter what. Iso ranges need to be tighter too as you get a lot of overcalls. I find myself playing very passive with marginal hands like KTo IP, even making up the small blind with them when 4 players limp.

It's also important to make notes on what payers are limp calling with. Some do it with KK, others with J6o. It can be really hard to put players like this on a range.

I've just recorded a video for review yesterday so I'm looking forward to the feedback on how I'm adjusting to these games. I think it may appear inconsistent with the hands I'm playing OOP, I'm really unsure in these situations.

New sites being added for season 2 btw so it is going to be bigger, better, more prizes and have a sick site to go with it.

2 buyins gone in 20 minutes. Note to self: Don't play unplanned sessions with lots of people around.

No poker this week. No gym either. Man flu. Not sure I'll make it, go on without me.
