It's been a while since i've posted. Mostly because of a downswing and wanting to play Zoom while i'm really bad at it. It seems such a NIT fest in general, and i am a player who does not believe villains range. Had to work on that also. 12 tables reg NL5 seems a bit boring, but it keeps me from having those awful sick swings. I've also been working on my opening ranges from EP, MP, CO and the blinds, and it seems to work!

The goal still stands to make about $1000 this year. I know it's a small goal, and hopefully it will be much more, but lets start small here. At the moment i'm still playing on Pokerstars because of the traffic. Most of the time i play early so i can start schoolwork at around 2PM . I can't really play in the evenings because my girlfriend also needs attention Laugh

Within a few days i will be leaving for Kopenhagen for my birthday, so that'll be fun i hope. Besides that, everything seems to be going fine. I would like to keep this blog updated and maybe create a website where i'll be blogging about the adventures of the micro stakes. But that's something for in the far future. On another note: I'm planning to go to Brazil this summer to meet my family for the first time ever. I'm adopted and was raised here in The Netherlands. About a year ago my sister (also adopted, but from another family) went to Brazil to look for my family while interning at a company there. On my birthday she told me that she had found my two sisters and my mother, so that was pretty awesome.

I've been Skyping with them ever since, but i think it's time to meet them. It was always an internal struggle with myself, mainly because i never felt home here. I was good at making connections / friendships with people, but there was a small empty space in me that wanted to go back to where i came from. Maybe when things go my way i will try to learn Portugese and stay in Sao Paulo (or a city nearby, because the traffic is hell there) for a while. I've always like Brazilian people. They are outgoing, easy to talk to, a bit crazy and really relaxed. In The Netherlands everything is fast paced and aimed at making a career. If you don't have some good job or a degree people will look at you in awe.

So that's it for now. Maybe i'll be posting an update later today!

Cheers!

OMG Brazil a place I have always wanted to go to. My friend went 2 years ago and said it was the best trip of his life and he is the most seasoned traveler I know and literally globe trots.

Also Brazilian food is one of my favorites. The meats, BBQ style, sauces and just feeling of it all is epic. You got any pics of the area?

I do, but not on this laptop unfortunately. Will look for some when i go back to my parents house this weekend. Brazilian food is absolutely the best. Can't wait to chill on the beach in Rio Laugh And play some poker ofcourse. Going to look for some good casino's and beat some Brazilian fish. Unfortunately i can't look at all the women or else my girlfriend will hit me. Just joking ... I will do that for sure

I have a love/hate relationship with Zoom NL5. It's so much fun, but also swingy:

Back from Copenhagen, so expect some more updates soon Smile

Long story short: Bankroll is at $780+ . How come? Some fun sports betting went my way i guess.

Almere city was in front by two points (3-5), but then Emmen scored two goals in 1 minute. So it was a pretty decent sweat. In the extra time Almere scored the winner (90+3 minutes i guess) and that was all she wrote :-D.

I'm looking to avoid those accumulators because you have to hope that your team will win. I guess slow and steady wins the race. Attached Image

Well, it started out as just punting, but at the moment i'm doing some research for todays matches in the Premier League, English Championship and the Bundesliga. Accumulator bets are fun because of the big payouts, but being dependent on one team can ruin it sometimes. Yesterday i cashed out because Tottenham was 1-0 behind (fourfold bet, all the other teams won). Tottenham obviously won, so did all of the other teams. By cashing out i made about 80$, but if i was patient i would've won about $405. So that's a lesson learned.

I don't want to bet more then 5% of my bankroll on several games, with the occasional accumulator every now and then. I have an app on my iPhone called Flashscore where you can basically follow every league there is. It sends you push messages when someone scores. I can totally recommend BatmanStreams as a site where you can watch every match possible. I've never seen sports betting as a source of income besides poker, but now i do.

I don't really care how i earn my money, as long as i don't have to work a 9 to 5 for the rest of my life. Poker obviously has my main priority, but i like to take calculated risks with sports betting every now and then. Anyone has a good strategy? Is there a community somewhere?

$0.02/$0.05Zoom No Limit Holdem/6PLAYERS /PokerStars

Sick hand and an even sicker river.

$0.02/$0.05Zoom No Limit Holdem/6PLAYERS /PokerStars

I guess implied odds is the word here. If the river wasn't a spade or a card that would help me, i would've folded. I was never folding the turn in a big pot with a potential big payout.

So the main reason that i'm still playing NL 5 is the fact that i want a decent sample before i move up. I may have the BR for NL10, but at the moment i'm fine where i am. Slow and steady wins the race :-). Moved my Bankroll to Betfair again because with the insane RB deal it's always +EV to play there.

Placed some bets yesterday on ManU, Tottenham, Stoke, PSG and Real madrid. Luckily Stoke scored a terrific goal! Same for ManU. Tottenham played really bad tho ...

Won 4 out of 5 Smile was watching football streams on several screens and kinda felt like a pro Cheeky today some research on Dutch games for tomorrow and today. Feyenoord - AZ is going to be fun. Feyenoord is finally showing some decent play and AZ lost 0-4 to Ajax. That doesn't mean AZ is bad. Need to see what team has the edge here.

I also NEVER bet on my own team: PSV. Because that wouldn't be rational.

Stoke was a great pick, that was a tough game to win for them.

Going to post some updates later today. Bankroll hit $911 so i'm pretty happy. Still on 33k hands for my Zoom experiment, but up around $130. I think it's time to split my bankroll between poker rooms.
