Hey guy`s whats going on.

So my name is john and i play poker ... yea its true, weird i know.

I have been playing poker for roughly 5 years and last year i hit a bit of a slump and decided to take a break from poker as on my last few session i hit a bit of a brick wall and was on the bad end of some variance and just lost all interest in the game.

Started coming back in feb just playing a few tournies and i even signed up to a tournament training site
(tournament poker edge) and cracked down on my study, shortly after i decided to get back in to cash and bought a few book`s on 6 max cash games and have been studying them and generally trying to improve all aspect`s of my game.

I applied for staking via poker vip and understandably got refused as my graph did not look the greatest as it had hand`s from 8 month`s ago when i hit my brick wall and was running way under e.v. but i did not have 10k hands yet and was too eager i guess and decided to send them included in the graph.

Story goes like this i thought about it long and hard and decided to just wipe all the past failed attempt`s and start a journey on this site to track my progress to hopefully getting a stake.

My main focus is 6 max cash but i will be playing tournies daily also, so this means i wont get as much volume in on cash games as i would like to but i think there is too much value in the micro tournaments not to play them.

Hey whats going on, just a update right fast

Not too much to report on the day, made a bit of profit on 888 and a bit of a loss on star`s but most of the days was spent playing mtt and i was just about to start reading post flop strategy`s for 6 max cash by xFlixx when i had a bit of a bright idea, decided to cash out most of my roll`s on both star`s and 888 (left a bit behind to play with while they are processed) so i can throw it all on bet victor where i have the best rakeback deal from signing up via pvip and also i get to take part in the rake races here with some softer field`s which is +ev all the way

Wont be updating here until i get on bet victor i don`t think, so hang tight will be back early next week.

So i played a little bit on BV and it did not go as well as it should have, i found a really sweet spot in 1 of the anonymous games this guy was literally shoving any 2 200+bb deep so i decided to get it in with hands i felt had a good edge vs him, also another sweet spot who was kinda tilted by this guy so i had a table with 2 massive whales all to myself and chips where flying, 1 spot was kinda a cooler but i do not regret it and you will see why when i post a few of the hands, graph first

this was the one that looks like a bit of a cooler and you might look at it and think why would he do that its stupid only getting called by better but this next hand was exactly 2 hands previous vs same guy

so there was all sorts of value at this table

pretty nice when they do this and you might think this call is marginal at best but when the guy is open shoving 5 2 with 200+ bb you have to call

So yea very high variance play`s but profitable none the less, didn't go our way this time but got to be done #noregrets

This site is much better than i remember it now it have merged with pkr and i cant wait to play more here and hopefully run a bit better.

Nice. Good luck at the tables and glad to hear your studying off the tables as well. That's something I need to work on more.

Really liking the idea of this thread and really shows your committed (if you keep it up that is).

Like i said in the staking journey it is just short term that we are not taking people on and that door is not closed together. Basically we are ready and willing when the time comes.

Hey guy`s fast update, not putting in much volume in cash games right now as i decided to use some of the cash i withdrew from star`s to get myself a new monitor, so the majority of games i play until payday at the end of the month will be micro tourneys unless i manage to get a bit of a score and am properly rolled for the cash games, Still going to be studying cash games and it gives me a chance to finish my 6 max books by Xflixx and check out some of the vids i downloaded from deuces cracked.

Going for this little beauty, 24" was guna get a 27" but my other screen wont fit on my desk if i do haha, but will be decent for getting out more tables which means more volume which hopefully means more profit ^.^

So i managed to get 3rd in a micro tourney so i can get in some cash games on star`s but i think i would rather stick to my plan of keeping stars as my site for tournaments and BV for grinding cash games, however if i get another decent FT finish before payday i will either withdraw cash for BV and or play some cash games on star`s.

Not too much to update but don`t want the journey to grow stagnant, so here is a update, still prob wont be playing cash games until the end of the month (31st) but i have cashed out some cash from stars to put on bv and left a few quid on their to tide me over till that`s done, really just been playing tournies and studying will update after my next day back at the cash tables i think.

ufffff, very nice man, would love to get a few of them myself need to get a lot of work in at the tables first tho.

I play on a 27 inch BENQ from Amazon. I think it was $249.99 CAN on sale right after Christmas. I absolutely love it!

You think curved monitors are the way to go tho?

its debatable tv etc used to be curved but then flat screens became the all the rage then they tried 3D for a while and its coming full circle again i guess its just a matter of opinion but apparently curved screens enable you to see more / miss less so it should be good for poker, i prefer them tbh
