Let's hope this will have a happy end :)

Hi everyone, my name is Boldeiu Cristian, I'am from Romania and I am 18 years old.
So i started playing poker some time ago when i heard about it beeing a nice way to win some money while having fun. I watched some videos where I "learned" the basics, deposited 10$ on stars and there I was starting to play nl2. Let's just that it didn't go that smooth :D. After one weak i doubled my bankroll then in a few days i went banrupt. I took a few other shots at playing poker but none too serios.
Now i decided to get more serious into playing this great game, started with about 15$ a few days ago and after 15k hands i am at 20$. I plan reaching 1000$ by the end of the summer to have some sparing cash for college.
I am currently mostly playing nl2 zoom 6max 1 or 2 tables and i also open 2-3 more nl2 standard cash tables.
My profits so far were mostly made at the standard tables (aprox 20$ in 2k hands) but I didn't find that much luck at the zoom tables (-17$ in aprox 12k hands).
My main stats at zoom are: 14.8vpip/11.8pfr/2.8 3bet. The stats on normal tables are similar.
So that beeing said, any advice you might have for me is greatly apreciated.
Also, I plan moving to 5nl when i reach 100$ would that be safe?
Thanks in advance to everyone that took the time to read this, hope you all have a great day :).
This is a pic of my graph from the day I started untill now.

First of all welcome to the site and this journey looks awesome!

Where is this graph from btw? I do not recognise it.

So what's the plans for college? what are you studying?
Posted 7 years ago
Hi! Thanks for the kind words.

This graph is from fpdb (free poker database), since i can't aford holdem manager yet.

I am going to study marketing, and hope that that will help me into becoming a webdesigner (since i enjoy building sites) or just get into some form of online marketing .

This is the graph from today, I tried adjusting my playstyle to playing much more hands in the button (29.2 vpip/ 24.8pfr). Maybe i just ran a little bad I will stick to this playstyle for a while maybe get in like 40% vpip in the button.

That was nl2 zoom 6max only btw.

I also feel like sometimes I am geting full value out of some hands, for example if i have AK off suit, i bet someone calls, the flop is Ah4c7c, my opnent checks, I always feel like if I bet he will instantly fold but if i check he might get some flush or w/e and reraise me. This also goes for when i have something stronger than top pair. Could someone help me with this please?

Hey dude, Pokertracker and HEM both have free trial, so get into that surely, make up your mind which you like so when you have the money you can go straight in.

As for the hands its hard to read with the villains hands not shown and yours not coming up until the end but :

Hand 1 AA - looks fine.

Hand 2 AA - fold river. You open and triple barrel and he still jams over you. He has a FH like 95%.

Hand 3 QQ - Was this one of those spots where the 30c All in was too small for you to raise again and had to call? If not should be raising that there, don't want to call and see a K or A high flop with all that money in there multiway. As played nothing you can do, too bad he had TT (maybe?)

Hand 4 AA - Sucks. When he donks turn I doubt he is ever bluffing. You block NFD, Ax for the chop really hard. Does he donk with a set? Maybe I suppose. 6x surely would just wait for your barrel as it is so strong there and hasn't got to worry about FD getting free card as you would barrel probably. I suppose you have to go with it.

Yeah sometimes they will fold when you have a strong range as generally if you smashed the board, you block some of what they can have. You sound like I feel when I'm in a tilt induced downswing, always thinking I'm getting owned. I would suggest worrying less about what to do exactly with TPTK and spending a bit more time on mental game. In reality they don't always fold, they call with Ax, 7x, loads of FD, 22 any old crap. You know that to be true really, it just feels like it doesn't go your way when your on a bad run. Mental Game of Poker is a great book if you can get a copy. Don't let tilt stop you getting value from big hands. If you miss value , you won't be able to pay for the times they hit their gutter and stack you. If they stack you and it takes your session from 500bb to 400bb up that's a lot easier to swallow than it taking you from 0 to -100bb.

My blog is full of posts like this though buddy, its totally normal for me (and most players feel like it sometimes). Only in the last few months have I made any real progress. Even then I had an absolute stinker yesterday. Don't beat yourself up about it just focus on getting better and doing this less. More A game, less C game. Bet big with big hands, fold your overpair if you get check raised on the river even if hey what can they possibly have on this runout?

Don't let the bastards get you down. Go crush it.

@thetallpaul Thanks man, you really are motivating me lol. I will check out that book, and about the software, if I remember corectly i used the trial on both of them some time ago when i first tried poker and then I quit up untill now, but I'll see what I can do.

Oh and if you are still interested the villains had the following:
1. 7c6c
2. 9c7c
3. 6d4d and KK
4. 6c7c

Heyo guys, this is a graph from zoom nl2 6max from the last days:

Attached Image

So as you can see it seems that zoom is not really working for me, it mainly feels like always trying to get blood out of stone and when i do get it and they also have it it's pretty close. I won't completly quit zoom but i will try reajusting my play more.

That beeing said, this is the graph from today nl2 6max normal cash tables only:

Attached Image

I will stick to playing normal tables untill I reach a safe amount of BIs.

Here is also a hand for you to glance at:

Seems so many players struggle with Zoom.......are you playing the same opening ranges? It would be worth just pulling up your stats for zoom and regular and seeing how different they are. I feel due to it being fast fold we miss a ton of spots like opening the btn or bvb
Posted 7 years ago*
Sure, np.
(these are the stats from when i started stealing more from btn and sb and aparently that's where I made the most profit) Zoom:

Normal cash tables ( this is not 6 max only and I am pretty sure i can't filter this kind of stuff with the software I have):

I am pretty confident that preflop is not my weakness on zoom but idk maybe I am just missing stuff.

I should also mention that I am not using a HUD on zoom since fpdb doesn't support it.

Awesome lets call in the stats guys:

@w34z3l
@CrazyCookie
@Komododragonjesus
Posted 7 years ago
Can't read loads into those but... SB PFR 24 seems low. What is the SB rfi?
Posted 7 years ago*
@CrazyCookie It is 63.3, it shows in the pic.
Posted 7 years ago
Ah yes, sorry such a small photo on my phone! It's hard to get much grin your postflop game from stats, maybe post a15 min video. Then we can set what your doing:)
Posted 7 years ago
Mult succes mediu!
Good luck mediu! Smile
Posted 7 years ago
@Balonas Oh un roman, merci mult Laugh
@CrazyCookie Sure, I will try to make a montage of the hands I play so you don't have to watch endless folding.
Posted 7 years ago
Hey guys I didn't play that much in the last few days but today I managed to play some hands and recorded the video @CrazyCookie asked me to. (Unfortunately I am not good at editing so the video will be pretty long but it has a pretty solid amount of hands played, watch as much as you have time to)
Thank you for taking the time to watch this. I apologise for the bad quality the quality was good but after i uploaded it it just went to 360p.( i think it's because it was converted to .mp4)

Posted 7 years ago
6:08 - I would shove turn instead of folding...
Posted 7 years ago
@DoiC Idk, he did call a 3bet preflop and was also pretty agresive I think that JJ or AA was not to be excluded.
