Let tea lead the way, another poker journey
This will be my new place to post about my current grind.
I'll be playing 4NL Hold'em (euro), 6 max cash games on Titan Bet Poker with a flat 20% rakeback running on my account. I'll try to work my way up through the microstakes and hopefully into the small stakes.
It's the start of October so I thought I'd start this journey here and then I can post updates (maybe daily?) of how my sessions have gone and my feelings that day etc and see how this month goes.
So anyway, who am I?
Well firstly my name is Dan, and I'm from Northwest England in the UK.
I love tea. It will help fuel my grind and grow more brain cells.
Every session will begin with a freshly made tea.
I used to play on Fully Tilt about 7 years back before all the drama happened there, and luckily I took out my money before it kicked off.
I ran $10 up to 2.5k and had to pay off car insurance and what not because I'd just learnt to drive at the time and for a 21 year old male, it's not the best thing. Especially as my car type didn't really give me a small price on it. It was actually 1.7k for the insurance alone.
But anyway, I decided to take my money out. Because I really thought I was on a bit of a heater in those days. I came 6th in a big $1 tournament that ran on Full Tilt in those days (the Daily Dollar) and out of 9900+ players, so that gave me a $270 boost near the beginning. I played a mixture of MT Sit n gos and some cash, and sometimes got reckless with my stakes.
I feel like my play these days is much better, however I guess the games are too. But I'm sure if I put my time in to study each day then I can work out a decent win rate.
I'm very disciplined these days at least, and will stick to what I play until I am able to jump up to the next level.
So anyway, on to business.
I start with £73.50
Hands played today (Oct 1st) - 2005
£72.36 end result so that's -£1.14.
Not a perfect start, but I didn't feel like I was playing terrible and making a ton of mistakes. I've analysed a few situations and seeing how I could have prevented some loss. I was up for most of the session, but ran into a period where I had to make a series of big folds due to bad runouts against some whale lag players. It seemed like a period where I was getting played back at in every situation and all I could do was just keep cool and let it pass.
I've posted an AK hand that I lost in the line checks.
I've noticed a few regs that are always in the games when I play. And maybe a name of a Poker VIP member. I will try to get in the good games mainly, and hopefully get 6 tables running at a time.
I'll try to watch videos each day and read various articles to keep my mind a bit more in the zone.
Well I guess that's it for now.
Until next time... I'm going to make a cuppa tea.
