Jef147: Exactly Jon but that is the media's doing! To emphasize further:

Most people feel if they ate a whole pizza they have ruined their diet! Yet if they ate two bags of rice, a chicken breast and 4 poached eggs they are doing great! If you break down the carbs, fats and protein in those 2 meals they will not be far apart at all! And that is all your body knows!

Don't get me wrong when I lost all my weight I did not use this method and instead did what the media told me! I once went through a period of not consuming a single carbohydrate for 4 weeks!! It was hell!! I felt like shit, was getting more colds etc but I thought that was the only way to get a 6 pack! It wasn't until I looked more closely and realised that all the well educated guys in the fitness industry were using 'flexible dieting' and all the 'meatheads' were eating chicken and broccoli 7 times per day out of Tupperware! Pretty similar to poker where you have the 'old school' of Mike the mouth and Hellmuth winning bot all and all the young 'well educated' guys using a stats based approach cleaning up! That's when it clicked for me!

Don't get me wrong I am not saying to eat nothing but junk as long as your calories are under maintenance! Like I said 70% should be 'clean' 'healthy' foods but the other 30% is the part that makes the diet sustainable and even enjoyable! With no negative effect on fat loss whatsoever!!

Like I said im more than happy to help people for free as I know how easier my life changing journey would have been if I had somebody to help even a little! So if anybody would like any help at all just give me a shout!

Sooooooo well fucking put. Really a great couple posts there.

BTW what milk do you drink? I am quitting dairy as much as possible as i believe there are so many bad side effects to it. I started with soya but saw coconut/rice milk has 200 calories per litre and some great stuff in there for you. It is also super fucking tasty. Thoughts?

I use almond milk (unsweetened) in all of my shakes, oats etc! Mainly due to the fact as like you say it has a lot less calories etc! I love my coffee and have to have normal milk in that as almond etc are just crap in coffee! But it has to be skimmed I cant drink full fat milk its like cottage cheese haha! If you are lactose intolerant or even just suffer from mild digestive issues it is often a good idea to keep dairy to a minimum but again I wouldn't listen to the media scare mongering too much! For the majority of the population cows milk is and always has been fine to consume! So I guess what im saying is if you like the taste of the 'healthier' alternatives then defo go for it but if it spoils your enjoyment of foods then the cons are far outweighing any small benefit so stick with cows milk!

I ain't drinking cows milk - i just wont do it anymore. I have read up on it a lot and there are way more negatives for adults to drink it than positives (pretty much none at all).

I love the coconut milk as well. superrrrrr tasty and refreshing.

Well another decent weekend in the books! Bankroll sitting at $1070!

It hasn't been plain sailing since getting over the 1k mark! I have been playing a mix of 10nl and 20nl! Absolutely crushing 10nl but struggling at 20nl! Only a very small sample at 20nl but it has been a bit frustrating! Would be fine if the skill gap was just big and I was getting crushed but it isn't! The main differences at 20nl are people are alot more aggressive out of the blinds and more aggressive pre flop! Dealing with both of these are definitely two of my main weaknesses but not enough to make a huge difference! I am pretty sure it is a mix of variance and the above! So I'm confident ill be beating 20nl very soon!

Another very strange thing is a 'reg' At 10nl blaze keeps coming after me! It is very odd as he is a pretty poor reg at that and he can obviously see that I'm beating the games up but he does everything he can to get into pots with me! I would expect the opposite but I just keep owning him as he is a typical 10nl reg and plays pretty 'face up' ABC poker! Just very odd! I was thinking that he may be a poker VIP er but not sure! Anybody else have any similar experiences..??

Anyway that's all for now gl at the tables guys!

Haha sounds pretty funny that you have someone just gunning for you. Solid chance it is someone on here just having fun...whats the sn?

Nice work on the br keep building it buddy and just always take a step back anytime it is needed.

The screen name is 'naiton61rus' or something along those lines! Like I say I could understand if he had me down as a whale or something but I haven't done anything out of line that I can remember and he is seriously just leaking money to me doing silly plays! All good fun though Smile

I have to thank you actually Jon! I was playing reg tables yesterday and 'slambang19' was sat! I remembered him from one of your videos and you saying he is solid but then goes nuts and barrels off with air! 10 minutes later and called him down 3 streets with top pair for a stack Smile

Don't recognise that name at all. Certainly not a staked player.

Haha glad i could help buddy!

I haven't been able to play any the last couple of nights due to internet problems! It is usually 100% reliable so think it may be a problem with the supplier rather than just my equipment! Hopefully sorted by time I get home tonight! I am itching to play which shows I am really enjoying it at the moment!

I have also spoken to grocker6 who is a stakes player and decided for us both to do some videos of our play for us to critique each other as we are playing the same games! Think it could be a great way to learn! Anybody else like the sound of it then get involved the more the merrier!

Great well I will be posting my video in here when done so you can have a look and then comment/do one of your own! I may start a separate thread for people to post their videos in if there is enough interest!
Posted 8 years ago
I think if u get like 20 people commenting it will get messy and hard to pick up good things vs bad things. Also easier to argue or discuss 2-3-4 way than more.
Not wanna cut anyone out but sometimes too much is too much.

Hey guys! I have had a nightmareeeeee this week! First off my internet at home has started randomly losing connection every 15 minutes or so, so I have not been able to play any poker all week! Sky have sent me a new router today so hopefully that will solve the problem as it is usually 100% reliable!

Secondly the new site decided that my password was wrong for my account here so I could not log on! And the re-set password link was just taking me to an unknown url! So I couldn't even log on and gripe about my internet Smile Have managed to re set my password just now so assume they have sorted whatever bug was causing it!

I have a pool tournament on Sunday so travelling down to Newcastle tomorrow so wont get much poker in over the weekend either unfortunately! But this is the start of the pool season so im really looking forward to getting back into it and hopefully have a good year!

Well the new router has improved my internet situation but it still dropped twice! Very annoying and strange as it has always been perfect!

Back at the tables for a couple of hours tonight and managed a win though it was a struggle! The blaze games were alot more agro tonight and I kept getting put in tricky spots! But came good in the end a hit a new mini milestone Smile

Mr god damn consistent this is sick dude. Never doubted you can do it but this must be feeling great right?

Having bad internet or internet problems is the most gross feeling ever. Probably the worst issue with online poker.

Hope it gets sorted buddy.

No I know exactly what you mean! Deep down I have always been confident I was a winner at anything up to 20nl but some mixed results etc had dented my confidence! Plus a lack of off table learning so a small leak can become a big problem over thousands of hands! 10nl is the smallest stakes I have ever played and I did it purposely this time to build back up from the bottom!

From completely breaking down my game this time and starting again I have realised that my biggest leak was most definitely levelling myself! Trying to play far too 'balanced' and play really good poker just does not work at below 50nl! Even now reading the forum I see post after post of 10nl players posting detailed stats on opponents and unable to make the most simple decisions without them! Or somebody posting a hand for review and the first comment is 'we cant really comment without stats on villain'! This to me is ridiculous! The vast majority of the pool play completely face up and basing your decisions on detailed stats is totally unnecessary!

The way to crush set stakes is to study the 2-3 biggest leaks of that pool in general and attack them like crazy! One example is at 10nl the biggest leak by far is playing in 3 bet pots! So I just spent a good few hours breaking this down to see how I could profit from it:

1. The player pool very rarely 3 bets their 'non value range'
2. This means that the player pool has to give a lot of respect to 3 bets
3. The player pool NEVER 3 bets their non value range OOP as this is what they are told in coaching videos
4. The player pool 3 bets their 'non value' range too often on the button as this is also what they are told in coaching videos

How to profit from this:

1. Completely open up my 3 betting range as you get huge respect and people have little experience in 3 bet pots
2. 3 bet 'non value' hands that flop well relentlessly OOP
3. 4 bet button 3 bets relentlessly

It goes completely against the grain of coaching videos especially when my small blind 3 bet is higher than button Smile But given the pool tendencies it makes perfect sense to me and has so far shown in my results!

Yes I know it is a bit out of the box and I don't think I explained myself very well but was just trying to get across that at the micros if you make plays that are not 'the norm' from a basic strategy point of view............you tend to get a hell of a lot more respect!
