much prefer calling preflop by 4betting we get him to fold all of his dominated Ax hands and some mid PP that he 3bets. we want these hands int he pot when we go post flop as when flop TP we are much more likely to be good and the pot is still relatively small so if it gets ugly we can make a very easy fold. Also when his 3bet range consist of bluffs we can raise some flop that we ahve equity on to get those hands to fold and even hands that we are currenlty crushed by.

100bb deep I would probably shove here but as we are so deep folding is better I feel. That being said 4betting is a fairly bad mistake I feel.

Thanks bud really good advice! Only reason I did 4 bet was because I was opening almost every button and he had played back at me abt 3 times in a row! But still dont think that is a good enough reason now!
Posted 10 years ago
^^ Better reason to call imo unless you want to stack. his 3bet range could be super wide so we are going to be able to float esp. when deep like this and when we make a pair we a reprobs geeting villain to bluff

Just had a truly horrible session! My cards might aswell have been face up because everytime I didnt have it I got insta 3 bet and everytime I did people scattered like pigeons! Almost managed to grind my way back to even then the two big hands below happened! The first I can probably get away from but his flat call on the flop totally threw me..?? Then the second...............OMG!!

Also a very strange thing happened! A reg made a huge overbet on the river into my pocket aces on a very wet board so I folded! Then when he popped up on my table after that he was writing in the chat asking me to add him on skype and giving his name..................whats all that about??

Shit man, that sucks, the first hand is lolsy by villain, but if you´re raising, make it bigger than a minraise.

Second hand I´d make the squeeze like 2.60 and go broke anyway on that board.

Keep grinding Wink

Thanks for the input mate! Yeah it prob was a little low but on such a dry board I just didn't think I needed to protect as much! But obviously did ha! I'm not too down coz I'm seeing all as a long term learning curve now!

Yeah, that´s the spirit, you win some, you lose some Wink

Hi,

Welcome to the forums! Great opening story there, as Jon said at least you have something to show for your win with the BMW! Must have been nice haha.

How are you finding using a tracker? I only started using one about 6 months ago, it seems ridiculous now that I ever lived without one!

Best of luck to you on your journey! Smile

Hi Keri! I'm probably the opposite at the moment in that I'm still not using it to its full potential! I'm tending to just pull up the stats in full when in a tough spot! Think that is prob coz I still am not familiar with it and need to keep looking into what info is actual on there and what it tells me abt a player! Hav been caught out a cpl of times too when the stats show someone is a massive aggro fish so I hav called them down with 1 pair hands only for them to have me crushed ha!

Hit a brick wall this weekend! Dropped abt 6 buyins in abt 1500 hands! Mainly down to 3 set up hands and 1 50/50 so not too worried! Tho I am obviously gutted it wasnt simply me donking chips off!

Hey people! Havent posted this week mainly coz I cudnt face it after most sessions haha! I am not just making excuses but I have ran so bad this last week! Worst form of my life in terms of day after day! Sessions going quite well then boom and run hand into hand or get sucked out on 3 times in 50 hands! I have lost abt 10 buy ins in abt 4k hands this week! Im going to drop down to 10nl and start over again as it dont doubt this run has affected my play a little!

Thoughts on this hand guys?? His line was sooooo fishy i saw the river shove as him turning his garbage into a bluff...........

If we didn't have downswings we would play with Phil Ivey m8.
As for the hand. Most 100bb players are not that spewy to shove garbage ONR.These are usually the "whatever stacks" players.I think you should bet/fold the river unless you know the opponent to do things like that.I am waiting to see at least a straight there.IMO.
Posted 10 years ago
Yeah I just thought how cud he not raise at any point in the hand with a set or straight when I hav bet every street showing strength! But hey ho!

Keep your head up bro! Crush 10nl and the confidence will come flowing back!
Posted 10 years ago
Cheers mate! I'm confident I can crush 20nl as there is as many fish as regs but I haven't really got the roll to deal with the swings playing decent volume! Wud rather build from 10nl!
Posted 10 years ago
Hey guys! First off there is literally zero action on Ipoker at 10nl! No idea why......................currently 156 at 5nl.....................117 at 20nl................and 9 at 10nl.............lol!

So I have been reviewing my play over the last cpl of weeks and in particular the hands I have posted on here! I am pretty confident in my conclusion that I have been giving guys nowhere near enough respect.....................or too much respect really! The majority of money lost has come from calling down big river bets due to line not making sense etc! 20nl is the lowest cash stakes I have really ever played and I feel I am treating the players as 100nl kind of standard e.g. the KK hand i posted yesterday when in reality guys at these stakes would not turn their hand into a bluff in that situation and much more likely to give up when they miss! So i am basically overthinking lines and stationing off chips to people who tend to bet bet bet when they have a hand! So the plan is to play alot more simple straight forward poker and get some volume chalked up! This seems by far the best approach at these stakes and the one alot of you guys are using to great effect!

I also have noticed my losing sessions are pretty much always alot longer and winning ones nice and short and sweet! So I plan on playing no more than 300 hands without a break! This may simply be a cuppa or toilet break but just something to clear the mind and then jump back in! think this will keep me alot sharper! On that note I have just played 253 hands and won 2 buyins!

Lastly i am gonna make sure I watch 7 videos a week on here to make sure I keep learning and analysing! Plus i really enjoy the videos Smile

Right we will see how things go from now and re analyse in a weeks time! Gl guys!

I agree that people are not bluffing as much as you think at these levels and biggish river bets normally mean that have something, though obviously not always. Im sure you will crush as you get back into it, good luck!
