Very limited knowledge on laptops but personally i just hate them. I cant grind on them for the life of me and always think people who do are losing money by doing so lol. I need a big comfy chair, desk and a nice monitor also the whurrrrring sounds of a laptop drives me insane lol

Saying that tho as you travel i guess thats why a laptop is needed so no hating on that. Looks pretty sick but i have never heard of the brand.

I hate computers lol I just think they take up too much room, and with the laptop I can change seat, maybe even lay in bed while grinding!! But as you mentioned the main reason is to take it to work with me! I've got used to that stupid noise they make Giggle

They are quite a big brand. I heard they don't waste they're money on advertising and just go by word and mouth. My gf also told me all the laptops at the school she works at are Lenovo.

Unless someone knows a better laptop for around the same price then that would be worth a looK?

If I do buy a laptop, couldn't I just hook it up to my TV/monitor and use a mouse, so it's like using a computer?

I have a laptop 15.4" and I attach it via VGA to a second monitor. Laptops are ideal for me as I travel around quite a bit but otherwise I agree with Jon. PC are the nuts, the last PC I had I made it myself for £400 and it was a beast for 10 years.

No love for Macs?

I toyed with Lenovo, my bro has them and they're pretty good. Settled for an Asus laptop though, was the nice red pink colour that sold it to me! (the important thing I know!)

I got my VGA cable tonight and hook it up to a LDC tv and can easily 6 table on the television and 4 on the laptop. Could probably get 8 comfortably on the TV but prefer a bit less. The most I've had on the laptop screen was 12 but that was a bit mad and quickly ended haha not grinded like that for a while though, will do now I've got the external tv

I'm toying between a macbook pro, Asus and lenovo. The big difference between the three is price. But the Mac looks good, I'm very tempted. The other 2 have been getting good reviews from a lot of computer sites. I never even thought of hooking up via VGA. THB I didn't even once what the vga was for (chuckle).

Yeah Killjoy that's my plan, not sure I'll be playing anymore than 6 tables Tho. I was thinking of getting a second monitor but is there any point if I can hook it up to the TV!?!

And Harvey, "the poker blue print" is one of the best poker books I've read!! I've stopped reading the mental game because it's a book you need to read while playing, and I can't play for another 3 week.

I decided to buy a local Danish sim card today so I can use the data to play a little poker on my phone, completely forgetting that my phone is locked to EE Angry

I'll have to wait 6 weeks for when I'm back in Denmark with my laptop to use It. Ah well, back to reading books it is.

Ps I went to buy "the raisers edge" on amazon today.... £1200!!! Luckily I found half the book on a pdf with a quick Google search, now to find the other half Yes

My brother bought a mac recently and he did not mind paying extra because they last a longer than most laptops. I think the average lifespan of a laptop is only a few years, whereas Macs can last for as much as 10?

I don't know too much about them these days tho,but I would opt for a SDD over a HDD.

I went for a Mac in the end. The hard drive is HDD but a guy on the ship said I can change that easy enough.

I'M home a week today so hopefully it will be there waiting for me!! Looking forward to hooking it up to the TV and grinding on the big screen.

Finally back after a LONG month away and it's started good. Only managed 800 hands but 2+ bi which is always good. According to the poker blue print it says to take a shot at the stakes above with a 3 bi stop loss. I decided to play the regular takes at 10NL (I always play speed) and I can see myself playing that more often.

Once I get my new laptop set up with PT4 I'll post updates with graphs every 10k hands. I'll hopefully make 40k hands minimum this month.

GL at the tables all.

I've got my new MAC set up but there is one problem....William Hill poker isn't compatible with MAC Crying I'm guessing that's the same for all Ipoker skins?
I really enjoyed the Ipoker network but looks like I'll have to move. MicroGaming might be worth a shout.

I've moved my roll or to Stan James on the microGaming network and I've just bought PT for this laptop. Can anyone tell me if you can use PT on this network on a MAC. I don't think I can!!

Hey

I use mac and PT4 - i don't think you can use PT4 with micro gaming I'm afraid

anything else you wanna know just holler

I've used macs my whole computing life

you can also set your mac up as a PC with a programme called Parallels or VMWare - i had mine running vmware and windows for a while to play on Paddy Power for a while - worked pretty good!

thanks for reply, I maybe should have checked this before hand. I'll keep my BR there until after the lockdown. Which site do you use?

Hi Barrbod I've been mostly playing Stars with the odd foray into Sky and 888

Posted 9 years ago
I've decided to move my BR over to Stars until l sort something else out. I do like Stars for the nice software and very busy traffic, I see a lot of fish on there also. The disadvantage to playing there is obviously no RB, but It's kind of good its on dollars because I can play 10NL quicker. I seem to be on a pretty good run right now. My BR was at $147 last week and is now at $207 today, playing 5NL. I got my HUD set up today so will post a graph, only 2K hands but I'll update every 10K after.

I'm back home at my parents for my time off so I'll have plenty time to grind! Only downfall is the internet is terrible when you live in the middle of no where!! I do like the view where i'm grinding tho, eve if its foggy!!

I'm going to play some 10NL tonight for a couple of hours. I'm going to keep the stop loss small at 3 Buy-ins. I'll report back tonight how it goes (y)(punch)(cash)

Also, what stats do you guys use for you HUD?
I can't remember most the things I used to have on it!

Hey thanks!
I've added a few of them already, I'll need to add squeeze, turn fold and river fold! They will definitely come in handy.

I'll add some of the other ones to the pop up menu! Yes

2 hands which i knew I should have folded but the little voice in my head told me to call. The first one i convinced myself one had a lower set and the other had an over pair or flush draw!

This hand, when he raises the turn its still an easy call because i'm getting the odds to hit. Once he shoved the river i tilt call, because it was 2 hands after the firs hand I posted. time to take a break.

Been running pretty good this week so can't complain too much about this bad run today (over 3 buys down). on wards and upwards. Going to take a break until I calm down from playing bad!!

Another thing to mention is my PF aggression. I've been 4-bet bluffing a hell of a lot with suited connectors and suited aces from late position when 3-bet, i've also been re-squeezing with the same hands and its all been working with a very high success rate.
only 5K hands in tho! Graphs and screen shots to come in another 5K hands.

Gl All!!
