New journey with PLO

Posted 6 years ago

Hey all, I decided to start a new journey since I've been inactive for a while and my old one was mainly focused on sngs. In late december I finished my last semester of uni and have successfully graduated, I still work part time but I've decided to pretty much take this whole year to relax and travel while still working, this means I've got lots of time for poker too.

I've deposited 100€ on Unibet in late October. I've played when I had time and I've also been betting on sports regularly with some success. I 4 table to stay focused and I've been running at around 15bb per hundred hands. Here's my big blind graph so far in around 20k hands.

The bankroll is now at a peak of 329€ with a plo4 ticket with over 10 buyins on it almost cleared.
My main goals right now as I have lots of free time are to soon take a shoot at plo10 while also doing 5 to 10 hours of off the tables work per week. After 3 years of having to learn Latin for my degree, I'm finally free to put all that work towards a language that's not dead, I've set my sight on Russian. I'd like to keep doing 15 to 20 minutes of Russian work per day in the coming weeks too.

Best of luck to all Laugh

Welcome back @Ovi8fan !

Congratulations on graduating!

LOVE PLO! Sick graph already, I actually played a bit of PLO4 on Unibet myself earlier today for the first time in ages and ended up 3 buy-ins up, very winnable there!

Very winnable indeed!
Had a nice 3way preflop all in today:

The traffic has nicely increased lately, hopefully this can last for a while. I'm aiming for a shot at plo10 once I reach about 350.

Definitely very soft tables. I think we've briefly played together this week, I use at least 2 at the same time Wink

For some reason I like the beach background the best

Ah yes, and I'm sure I'll see you at some point soon! Is a shame there's like no social interaction at all on Unibet

Have you given any thoughts to their February promotion?

Assuming that we start with only bronze tokens, that all flips have a 50% chance of getting there and that 100 bonus points = 1 euro even though the larger conversion rates are better that's what I came up with for the average value of a token.
Now obviously the bigger prizes are worth slightly more. But if I were to get the max tokens every day and flip them all until I were to reach the 2000 bonus points, I've got around 50% of getting there once during the month.

I'm thinking with a volume relatively low like mine where I don't max out every day, it's +ev to just do the first flip and take the points.

I earned 5 flips yesterday, decided to cash out if I hit the 40 points, but never got that far

I don't really understand it to be honest, not read up on what you can get
Posted 6 years ago
From what I understand, you get tokens for every 25 flops you see based on the stakes you played. Then you can flip and get prizes, the idea being that you can flip all the way to a unibet open package.

The bankroll has now peaked at just over 350 euros. I'm working the graveyard shift tonight so I'll probably be too tired tomorrow to shoot plo10 but I'm aiming to try it Tuesday. I've got my infos from Unibet regarding my play in January, overall in my 20k hands since November I've won at 18bb/100, very happy with that Laugh

So, seems like plo10 is about just as soft as plo4 which is great news. Now had I won the 70/30's that I lost this shot would keep going but for now I'll grind back a couple buy ins at plo4 and try again. I don't mind a little variance after the crazy good month I just had.

It's soft all the way up to 100 on unibet

Do you play PLO MTT's @hedonhiney ? Thinking of making it my main game as well as cash plo once I get back onto the GG network, tho Unibet is soft AF as well!

I do not play mtt's of any sort, they are the only thing on this earth guaranteed to tilt me
Posted 6 years ago
To be honest, just the idea of plo mtt's kinda tilt me, I'm sure they're very soft though.
Played another session today but at plo4, already made 2 buy ins back. If all goes well it's only a few more days before I take another shot.

Here's my graph for the month so far:

Made back all I had lost from my shot and then some. I've got a few units tied in some Olympics bets right now and I'm spending my Saturday in planes going half-way across Canada but I'm hoping to take another shot within the next 3-4 days. I'm off of work until the 28th so I should have lots of poker time. The goal is going to be to move up this month.

Played my first PLO comp on pokerstars after seeing a car with the registration "PLO8 CEV", deffo a sign! Tried to find a hi-lo obvs but there wasn't any. Came 20-something out of 533 anyway for triple the buy-in lol

Doing OK on Unibet cash tables as well, turned a €4 cash game ticket into currently €23 cash, going to try and run it up

I've faced some variance in the last few days, nothing unexpected after the great January I had. Those Unibet cash tables are a goldmine Laugh How long did your plo mtt last?
