So got a bit of updating to do. Been so flat out with life at the moment that barely checking in on the forums.
PokerSo for the first time in a while I have a poker update. Although it's nothing significant.
I have transferred what balance I had to a newly opened account on Tony Bet. Something like about 110EU. Will be interesting to see how I go with no HUDs or HHs but it might possibly be the best thing I do. Finding the traffic isn't what I'd hoped for at this stage but the software seems really nice and smooth. Haven't played a great deal yet with no major winning or losing session so not much to report but hopefully I can start getting a few hands in and hopefully with some positive results.
RunningSo after the coastal trail run a few weeks ago I spent the next week searching out hills on every run. Did hill repeats for my Tuesday night run and a hard pre-work run in the town I work (much hillier) on Thursday. I followed this up with another run in the town where I did that coastal trail run on the next Sunday (July 10th). However this time instead of the coastal run I headed inland and got some decent hills. I have a few pics here and from some of the high points you can see 360 degrees to some pretty spectacular scenery in all directions. Unfortunately it was quite an overcast day and with the zoom on my phone camera a little blurry the pics really don't do justice to how great the views are.
After the week of hills though I had an easier week during last week where I basically stayed local and cruised the flatter roads at a comfortable pace in preparation for a what I hoped would be a big weekend.
BIG WEEKEND and NEW PBsPB 1 -> So the plan this weekend was to have a crack at setting a new 5km PB. With all the recent miles and a hard week of hills under my belt, followed by a freshening up week, I felt the time was right to have a go. The previous best was 20:13 and I'm happy to report I didn't just beat it but smashed it, going under 20 minutes for the first time with a time of 19:39
PB 2 -> Following this run on Saturday, I got out on the roads yesterday (Sunday 17th) and set a new PB for longest run, covering a distance of 28.4km (previous best 23km).
So overall a really satisfying weekend and a little reward for effort has me feeling quite positive about the running. I also weighed in at 89.5kg yesterday which is the first time since I don't know when that I've been under 90kg.
In terms of the 2016 overall goal of running 1,500kms I'm now well on the way, having covered 821kms for the year (139kms so far in July).
This now puts me ahead of the year to date pro rate target of 815kms and I hope and expect to push further ahead of target every week now.
