MinerBoy23: Haha yeah well I figure every other bastard is an unlucky SOB like me and gets their aces cracked every time... :D

With the proof only taking 5 minutes later to arrive. Sad

Aggro donk playing 38/34 with an AF of 12 could be raising all sorts of pair/draws/combos here so out of position I stick it in on flop. Oh, of course

ICBrokePeople: Lets just hope the weather will be fine so I get some good views while running. Smile One lap is approximately 95 meters so there will be 440 something laps to run. Hoping I wont be dizzy going round and round and round..

Woaaaah. That is absolutely insane. Haha. I've never run anything like a marathon distance so that's hard enough to get my head around but doing it running laps like that. Crazy. Good luck I'll be interested how you go.

And yeah Asian food is awesome stuff. Congrats on the 17 years too buddy. When I look at how many blokes I know who are divorced and single these days I realise how nice it is to still be going strong after this many years and I'm sure many more to come.

Haha.. thanks, I have ran a 6 hour race indoors around a 200m track earlier but this is something new Cheeky Tell you how it goes Smile

Thanks again.. Yeah! So many of our friends are separated so it's cool that we have stayed together that long. We still grow as a couple and we have solved the few problems we've had over the years.. Good feeling to have someone in your heart sharing everything with.

Drunken injuries ftw. Beer

So had (quite) a few after cricket last night and walked home. Rolled the ankle in a pot hole going through a dark area. Went down hard. Doh! There goes the plan for today's long run and any running this week will be dependant how it pulls up. Hasn't blown up yet which I guess is good but very tender and can't put too much weight through it.

Capped off a great day for me where I hit the deck hard in the field diving for a ball and smashed my hand/wrist under my body, all the while the ball cannoned in to my shin where I broke my leg many years back and that blew up too.

Play in the 1st XI for us. Actually I'm club coach and 1st XI captain. Our 1sts are in Division 2 of our competition this year. Currently sitting second so hopefully we can take out the division and move back in to division 1 next season.

Swallowed the pride and decided I'll grind 5NL hard and work on winning around 20 BIs and then step up to 10NL.

Feel like I'm playing really well actually but struggling to do more than break even just at the time. Have been playing full sessions without results checking but always keeping an eye on hands played. Trying to get MINIMUM 1000 hands a day and the results when checked have been frustrating because it's been a similar story most days. Play a decent session, grind well, build up between1-3 BIs and then cop a stinking cooler or suck out close to session's end that leaves you with little to show for it.

Here's tonight's slap in the face. Close to 2 BIs lost in one hand.

Really had no idea on turn. Felt like I had to bet but also felt like I had to call if I got shoved on.

Blah.

Oioiiiiii congrats man but about 12 sound right. I can think of 5 off the top of my head so sure that figures. The forum has only been around like 3 years and even some prolific posters have changed names a couple of times.

Welcome to the club tho! Awesome forum member and love following your journey.

POKER

Thanks @Jon-PokerVIP appreciate the kind words. Pity my poker isn't up to scratch to offer more to the site in that regard. Disappointed with how I've fallen away the past 6 months. I guess it goes to show though how tough the game is and if you don't give it the time and respect (as I've struggled to do with life's obstacles recently) you will pay the price.

Having said that, it's not so tough that I can't fight back with a little application and that's what I hope to do from this point on.

An issue I've had is trying to ignore results, while still being able to review hands and stats in PT4. If anyone knows a good way to set it up so you can delve in to your data base without seeing the $ results that would be appreciated. As it is, I'm just trying to get hands in and only using the leak finder button to see where my stats are at. Hoping to get my VPIP/PFR/Btn Steals/PF 3bet numbers up.

RUNNING

Got out for a 7.5km run this morning after managing to get through cricket training last night. The ankle is a little bit ginger after Saturday night's 'incident' but it didn't swell at all so I think I dodged a bullet there. Was fearing I might have missed cricket finals due to a drunken mishap but it's improving every day and will be right to play the final regular season game this weekend.

2016 Kilometers = 80.4

The game is tough but deffs beatable. I havn't put in a proper grind this year so god knows what will happen when i go back to the tables. Just takes a ton of playing, studying and following trends then will be fine!

If a man can run 100KM a month why can he not beat poker #gogoo

Feel like this sums me up a bit at the moment. Big hands either get outdrawn or coolered..........or no action. Not many winning me stacks though.

fisken_: I call flop here

This. Unless they're a maniac it's always a straight here, or at best for us a lower set.
Posted 8 years ago
So no one thinks there are two pairs, combo draws, smaller sets, straight draws and other hands we beat?

I think we are ahead vast majority of the time here.

They might XR combo draws. But then they might fold them to a shove. I think there's a good argument for our raise folding out worse and only getting called by better. If you know villain is sufficiently lose that they'll call off with their combo draws and 2 pair then obviously the play is fine.

That being said it's never bad getting in top set because we've 1/3 chance to boat up if we need to.

Had a huge weekend. Didn't play any poker Saturday afternoon/evening and none at all Sunday. Had our cricket vote count Saturday night where I came 3rd (and was the highest vote getter from the 1st XI) so not bad for the old bloke in the team. Party kicked on afterwards and got home about 5.00am Sunday morning which was followed by an afternoon and evening of trudging around nature reserves and watching the fairy penguins come in and head to their burrows at night. Doing the family thing after being out all night. Got through but I'm exhausted here at work Monday morning and in for a long day.

Cricket semi finals this weekend. Play Saturday and Sunday. Lose = season over. Win = grand final following weekend. We have all 3 of our senior teams playing so a pretty successful season so far but obviously would like to see one or more of them go all the way and win the title now.
