Yeah two good sessions in a row!

just played for half an hour, because my significant other needed some attention

380 hands and +72bb/100

I ran like god. nothing else... I hit nearly everything. My red is up 8€ my blue 4€... really nice session. good for my ego, good for my motivation.

i will come back for a night session Smile

Evening session

1hour45 minute, 1350 hands, -4bb/100

hmm weird session at NL10. lost a stack quite early... fought my way back to even and then came mr. whale... i hoped sooo that i could make riches... and he had it every time... i mean he was sooooo lucky that was just impossible (not just against me... against everybody) he played 100% of hands over about 150 hands and made a profit of 40$... (unfortunatly 10 of mine as he beat me with 92o)

zoom was a good session. lost a stack in a set over set situation. no really disgusting spots other than that... slight profit there

Most important thing: mentalgame is strong at the moment... i keep cool when nothing happens for some 100 hands because I know that I can beat these stakes easily and I do not have to freak out because of bad luck... it will come back to me...

The next days I will get a whiteboard behind my screens where i can put up some buzzwords in order to keep my mental game stable.

there can not be a day without a horrible session
90 min, 1151 hands and -22bb

on the bright side i could say that i finished the day positiv... but i could puke because the two hands that broke the session were AKs against AA preflop and another mr. whalefishsuperfreak that call a 7x raise against 3 limpers with 97o and gets there against my AA

additionally this session was extremly bad for my red.... i folded and folded and folded... nothing i could do... no hands to 3 bet pf nothing...

well horror session behind me... tomorrow a short one to get my 5€ bonus and than back again on monday.

This is poker for me at the moment...

i am out till monday... hope you run better than me

Saturday evening session

well well well...

1 hour about 700 hands and -2bb/100

most obvious thing that stopped working is my agression... red goes down down down... comparing it with my profitable 10k hands were red was 0 or even positive i know where to improve (especially in the blinds i have to improve... i lose to much money there)
Posted 6 years ago
May I also suggest that in weekend sessions my redline is very negative due to how low fold equity is at these times, as well as there being many 3 and 4 handed limped and limped/call pots. As frustrating as it can be for some, iso-raising and missing with AQo in the SB with 3 callers, I don't let that bother me at all, but I do agree that at micros most of us lose far too much from the blinds.

another session where I played okish i guess... and then comes a big big big hand and i get wrecked...
hand is in the review-section...

1k hands and -26bb... I think it would be better for me to set the money on fire and stop playing

Night session

1 hour, 750 hands and +8bb/100

first third of my session was good. red stable, blue slowly rising.

second third red slowly sloping down, blue rising faster

third third red sloping slowli down blue rising very fast untill I had to make a big laydown and red is down down down.

mental stability is better, i play better but I am still questioning if its worth it. Training at BTS is good, but atm i cannot put in as much volume as i really would like. As my results are so bad I am also a bit hestitant to start playing when I have time...

I would say not to look at the lines after these sessions, maybe at the end of the week at a minimum just so there is some bit of a sample in there. It can affect how your play if you're possibly thinking things like "I need to get him to fold so my red line goes up", I know I used to do that. But if you just focus on doing the right thing on every street in every hand, everything else will fall into place and take care of themselves. Think I read it in your blog before or maybe in someone elses but at the micros, there isn't a whole lot of folding, so just get the value in and let the blue line shoot for the moon

Evening session
2.2 hours, 1583 hands and +9,29bb/100

I played disciplined and until the last couple of hands I had a very very nice session. Again i made some bigger laydowns and again i could not keep red up high.
@AshVIP I know we have this discussion again and again... but as long as my red to blue is not having a decent ration i make something wrong.... I am sure that i am not agressive enough i should improve that ( I managed to do this in the first 10k hands at NL5 but lost confidence... i have to get back to this confidence and mindset)

I made some bigger folds and want you oppinion so please take a look at the HH review section.

My advice would be do not pay to much attention to the graph its a mindset killer. When I played 4NL I was addicted to looking at the graph and looking at the points on red line went down etc and I went in to the next session with a mindset of I must be more agro and 3bet more etc.

This is the wrong approach because every table is different.

I play on a non hud sites now because there is no graph (you could make your own) to look at and worry about a red line. I sit down each session with a mindset of how can I exploit the table today? Usually with light 4bets but that's another story.

Non hud sites do require developing reads every time you sit down but I would bet £50 that your in 10NL before xmas on a non hud site. If your playing a zoom format game I don't think many sites offer no hud. Correct me if i am wrong.

Noon Session
85 minutes, 1000 hands +-0bb/100

1 buy in down after 100 hands... 1 buy in up after 900 hands... 0 at 1000 hands.

i am sooo unhappy about my game at the moment... I could say that this was the third session with some green result (come cent) but it could be sooo much better. I ran into bad bad spots, and I ran into some good spots... these things equal out. soo much to learn...

well... now off to some study and hope that the afternoon brings me some € Smile

And when a tiny little flame of hope that i somehow will manage to succeed in poker grows this session comes

48 minutes, 500 hands and -67BB/100,

QQ lost against KK, KK lost against 66, and my highlight QQ lost against KTo.

I am obviously not meant to play this game... i cannt handle this anymore

Advice given you are having a downswing and experiencing frustration, take a break, however long it takes, for me a couple of days work now, but in the past it's been more like a week, either way when you come back you'll approach it with a new mindset.

Consider playing a different type, maybe it's tournaments, maybe a new game entirely, PLO, razz, stud, ages ago I played HORSE to keep things fresh.

The important thing to remember is that you are my no means alone in facing frustration and bad results, it's the way you react to them that will define how successful you can/could be.

Anyway cliff notes, take a break, consider alternatives, and accept swings can happen, and importantly can happen both ways

Hope this helps

@hedonhiney thanks for your kind words

I took a break from poker for a week and tried to focus on other stuff.

I decided to take another approach.

I have two university-degrees and i will take this methodological experience into good use. I will write some kind of master-thesis about poker. just for myself. In order to do this i have to make up my mind and find a structure which I can follow. The goal is to have written my own beginner guide untill the beginning of summer.
lets see if i can succeed Smile

after a one week hiatus I returned... and what a return

Everything is as fucked as it was befor... 1 hour, 700 hands and -25bb/100

Posted 6 years ago
wierd session...

75 minutes, 825 hands and +10 bb/100

red massivly positive ( I have noooo idea why) blue 0

I lost the 2 biggest pots and I think i could have saved 1,5 bi easily, but other than that I played quite well. I tried to avoid bad spots and had some nice cards.
good for the motivation, i can tell you

Evening session

1,5 hours, 933 hands and +12bb/100

2nd half of the session was not very good, but in the 1st i really rocked the ship. I made my biggest pot so far with +11,63€
My biggest mistake was that i foldet 2nd nut flush against 2 all ins -- I mean 1 of the morons has to have it... well they didnt.

again agression was way too low in the 2nd half. I sooo have to work on that.

For my book I have the following plan: I will work from street to street. I know that making mistakes on the river is more costly, but as I play zoom mostly the most action i get is preflop and on the flop. So I will start with preflop (especially 3 and 4betting and defending against 3bets) and then focus on the flop (Cbetting, and c/r...)

I really hope to succeed!

all this happend within the first 250 hands.

Further plans: some study
as i got some free tickets i might play some tourney in the evening. additionally i need some points to clear my bonus this week so i will also keep grinding today and tomorrow.

I hope it goes this direction now for some time.

good luck friends!
