quick night session...

what a desaster.. i stopped after 45min because nothing worked.... 300 hands and -64BB/100. I totally lost my edge... frustrating pokertimes

I hear ya!

Poker can be the best, and also the most frustrating.

My graph for today

Attached Image

Includes 11 spins in a row where I just couldn't win, included in those 11 were 2x $42 prizepools and 4x $28... $120+ right there gone begging.

Could not get anything going today, so you are not alone!

We stop for the night, have a break, recuperate, and get it all back tomorrow!

Being able to recognize it's time to stop puts you ahead of the curve straight away. Nice job!
The game will wait for you. Cool

thank you so much guys for the kind words... right now this is soo much needed...

this afternoon i worked hard on preflop-ranges... open/calling and 3betting. I really enjoyed working with pokerranger and constructing my new ranges.

I was very motivated and wanted to put my new strategy into practice.

result:
I quit after 131 hands. -2,5 buy ins ....

Yes today i am here to whine.... AA got crushed twice in 1 minute... once against KK and once against KQ... set got riverd and lost against a straight... top two pair ran into a set....

I know this happens, I know I should not worry about it, but I do. Volume was good in November. I might actually cash the challenge for the first time. I know that I played badly most of the time because I was not able to convert my theoretical knowledge correctly to the tables. I studied for many hours. So lots of positiv things. A losing month is garbge non the less.

last 3 sessions were -6 buy ins. About 8 or 9% of my roll gone. I actually wanted to step up to NL10 but this is not an immediate goal any more. I really have to get my shit together and find a nice steady winning strategy again.

why o why o why....

70minutes, 500 hands and -40BB...

and i could keep on whining... but i dont.

variance happens, i am not going to get frustrated. I will beat the game.

afternoon session
1,5 hours 800 hands and +2BB/100

i become very desperate because this is a huge win for me... after 4 disgusting sessions it is nice to be in the green for once...

start was horrible... after 100 hands I folded away 100BB... but i recovered in the end a bit... (-55BB for my red line... +80BB for my blue)

Evening and night session.

In my evening-session I played my twister-tickets and 2 tourney.
tourneys went OK i guess... played for 2 hours busted finally with OK hands...
twisters were a frustrationfest Smile I played 18 (16 1€ and 2 2€) and won 4. I played OK i guess and made it to the HU in 13 or 14 twister. I do not have to explain how bad I ran... I really ran bad... like really Smile As this is free money I am happy with what I got Smile

Night Session
back at the cash tables
1.5 hous, 765 hands and +9,3bb/100

I played very focused. I punted 2€ away in a super easy fold spot but other than that my play was OK. As always I lack sooo much agression. But I am doing everything to improve this.
I bought "master the flop" in order to improve my game. Additionally I want to start some strategy-discussion threads. I constructed my own preflop ranges and would like to hear your oppinion. Are you interested?

afternoon session

2 hours, 1000 hands and 1.5bb/100

I am strongly considering to invest some money into coaching... obviously I cant get my agression right... self confidence is down the drain... when I bluff i get called all the time at the moment. on the other side I get bluffed of my hand alot and i do not know what to do most of the time... I feel like I have not learned anything in the last 12 month...
The only one who is happy with me is my pokersite... in the last 8 weeks my rake ran up to nearly 300€. I myself run at 3,3bb/100 at the moment.

Eveningsession
100 m inutes, 821 hands and +16,66bb/100

a decent session. concentration was high, mental stability was good as well.

I will do some studying and be back at the tables in the evening.

As i approach the end of the year my work-schedule gets a bit lighter so i can put more fokus on poker. I hope i will profit from this increased volume!

Just play and you should make money. The coaching group I am with, we actually stop doing group coachings and just try and play as much as we possibly can in December. We will do live play sessions in lieu of coachings just so we don't interrupt play time The tables get soft during holiday times.

Nightsession
90min 776 hands, +4,7bb/100

probably the wierdest session I ever played.

first of all I am actually rather happy with my play and do not really understand why my nonshowdown was so low. I made some very nice calls, and some nice bluffs...

fist dent in my blue: someone sucked out on me... call was correct but he got there (+5,11 EV for me) I battled back up and arrived in the same situation against the same guy and he sucked out on me again I had an overpair (QQ) and he hit his flush... (+4,31 EV for me)... I was angry because the same moron made 8€ from me so i closed all the other tables.... next hand I have AA so I could not close this table. I get 4bet by a very agressiv player (4bet range 6) so I ship it and expect my runbad to strike again. My AA held and I could go to bed with a better feeling... but NO... it was not over... next hand KK... my agressiv opponent tilts and 3bet shoves with K9.... day saved Smile

why oh why...

60 min, 482 hands and -11,6bb/100
I cannot complain enough...

my last big winning session was 2 weeks ago...

I have absolutly no idea what I should do atm... I once again have the feeling that my opponents see what I have... how is this possible.. this is fucking NL4. I am obviously tooo stupid for this game.

last 20k hands i am -2,5 BB... all in EV sais i should be UP 2,5bb
last 7k hands i am down 7,5BB

I suck so much at poker

Afternoon session

90 min, 887 hands and -5,5bb/100

I am out of words atm
Posted 6 years ago
night session
2,5 hours, 1058 hands and -20bb/100

today over all: 2000 hands and -25bb/100

This was some nasty review. Away from the table this seems all so easy...

3bet light oop did not work at all... over all this should make me 226bb/100... today -1084,82
I hit a set only half as often as expected.
5 split pots where i was best until turn, several spots where villain hit the river.

in short i was not favoured by my cards.

aaaaaand I play abysmally at the moment. I will not blame the cards and not look for mistakes in my game. for several thousand hands my red is plummeting nearly vertically. I have no means of stopping this. It feels as if i have absolutly no idea when to bluff as I am setting money on fire atm with my bluff attempts.

I also cannot extract any value from my opponents any more. In the last 15k hands I only made 2,5 BI at showdown while I lost 66bi at non showdown. I do not get paid and make regularly stupid calls.

I know I can beat NL4!! I will beat it in the next weeks. I will keep grinding and I will be successfull.

As much as I do hate saying this because I know I hate hearing it, but it is just so true. It's small sample, even 15k hands is a relatively small sample size and you can't make too many judgements based on it. Losing at non-showdown sounds a lot like you fold too much, or playing too many hands and just missing often and having to fold.

There is a leakbuster thread on here where youre stats will be looked at, I'll get it in a minute, this will give you some indication on where you can start to look at improving right away.

Also, maybe you could do a 30minute video or something, just record your play, and someone, I don't mind myself, will have a quick look and see if anything stands out straight away

Not sure if he's still doing them but the thread is here, or have a read through and see what baselines you should be aiming for

Totally agree with AshVIP, that is a small sample of hands to concern yourself with, except for reviewing and trying to improve obviously.

Also there is this:

https://www.pokervip.com/forum/general-discussion/free-player-review-videos-w-our-pros

Where one of our super duper coaching types will take a look for you. I had one done and I'm moving up now on the back of it. Smile

Pssst: and it's free! (sssshh) Party

Thanks for you replys!!

I will post in the leakbuster forum. thanks for the tip i hope I get a reply

regarding the video: yes i want to do that, but I play at no site where I am allowed to make a video. This will have to wait till january

I also have to make a little correction. I did not lose 66BI but 66€ --> 16,5BI. still bad but not that crazy. I am still on a healthy 250€ bank roll. another 50€ in rakeback waiting for me and 65€ in reserve on another site. I also have 9 free ftwister tickets and hope to be up to 20-25 untill the month is over. this is really nice free money for me. aaaand i am working on clearing the bonus and i want to get into the money in the december VIP promo. I really really really hope that i hit at sum of 400€ at the end of the month. Starting from a bankroll of 20€ I think this year could be called a success.

Today I studied and studied and studied... i reorganised my pre-ranges and i am very happy with them. from tomorrow on i will fokus on flop play.
I also analysed my database and found some nice things to think about.

Night session:

2 hous, 1000 hands and -11 bb/100

I really played very very good poker. but when you run 12€ below EV it is hard to win a session.I also tend to run into bad bad spots... 2P against a set and against a flush. both times fishy players so the call was fine i guess.

first half of the session i also could keep my agression high. 2nd half not so much... this is something i really really have to work on.

aaaaand another wonderful session of poker
90 min, 667 hands and -53,22bb/100

KK vs AA twice
AK vs KK once
AQ vs QQ once (against an "I go every hand all in" player)

red abysmally... every single bluff got called... every one...

yes i keep whining... but i see no land atm.

from the 24th of november everything started to go downhill... I play a whooping -14bb/100 This is exactly my red losses as my blue is ZERO. I run nearly 8 bi below EV.
