I'll move back to nl20 after this promotion but I'll stick to nl10 for a little while to get back into the slower pace and 'tougher' games first.

I like MTTs but being a staked player for cash games I lack both the bankroll and the time for them.

for those of you interested in these challenge things, here's a good one from coach @Jon-PokerVIP who in some epically insanely masochistic mood made thischallenge for himself.

He has done a super-grinder monster challenge before and very successfully to, see that one here for crushaments and prop bets!

Small winrate expected because of the traffic something like this will attract (see bossman challenge above) but adding it all up it looks like free money to me.

I used to play zoom 4 and I'd play 3-4K hands before breakfast, so volume isn't the issue. A good day was 10-15K, ye, at nl4 ffs! Had to stay there to because I'd withdraw it at the end of the month to pay bills.

Anyway, if I can I will but if not, I think I might have a little bet on the bossman doing it even though he's obviously clinically insane for trying; but then that's what he's good at, showing people it can be done, isn't it?

Super challenge and having been a monster grinder in the past myself I'd love to bet against him - but I know better that to do that!

In other news, Blaze hasn't been very kind to me last few days, 1-outered 2 or 3 times I think and the usual run-of-the-mill rng kicks up the arse. So without pumping my gums about bad beat this and suckout that, or hiding my 3 barrel bluff that got snapped off yesterday, 2 x 5BI days out of the last three hasn't made me a happy bunny - and I'm sure that damned goalie is improving to!

Sadly though Party Poker software is shite, and after a load of hassle they've now blocked my account. After I made the deposit though obviously. The hammer came down literally as the deposit was OK'd. I hope this is on the level. I had an old account that they closed as had never used it after setting it up maybe 10 years ago? All seemed OK. So, poker is not going so good lately. Tried playing like the bossman for few days and got my arse handed to me. How does he do it!?

Yesterday I played in the a.m. for a couple hours and got stuffed for -2.5BI, then played 7 hours straight in the night - ye, I know, but it's beats watching Big Brother and fkn Love Island with the mrs.
Managed to book another losing session of -2BI so it's all good stuff. Ran 4 tabs, was down nearly -5BI twice and at the end had over 100e in front of me still at -2BI ffs, scored one fkn goal from the cannon, yep, one. Fml.

Oh ye and @CrazyKeri keeps turning up at the tables with 4BI+ just to rub it in. Nice job CK, it worked.

Found a way to save some anyway. Played 4 tabs last night and clicked sit out to take a break. As I clicked I got 22 in MP, raise and lost set over set for 250bb on a dry board, got trapped by a station who played chk/c...chk/c... etc with QQ top set. Nice job sir.

In similar vein I clicked sit out on 2 tabs a couple of sessions ago and got KK on the other two at the same time and got stacked in both - AA bvb and KQ hit a str.

So, all's well that end well eh Mal? Er...play two tabs instead?

Yeah I had a set over set too with 22 a day or so back, which turned into FH under FH. Not for that amount of blinds though. So yeah that's where maybe my deep stack thread may come in lol. Looking back though at that hand for that amount, do you think he could have easily had better than your bottom set as it's a lot of bbs? Always good to analyse it for the future times.

The KK hands suck. Nothing you can do eh? Got stacked 3 in a row with AA and KK vs AA on the same day a day back. (Just trying to make you feel better haha), but then played a million hands that day and pulled back out of it.

As long as you're feeling good about you game and positive. Then good times ahead.

Also I spend some days (like yesterday) just focusing a bit more on study, making notes from videos and trying to drum things in. Mentally make notes of spots that I find awkward and then make an effort to look for them in videos where the pros own and spell it all out simple.

Well, so set over set today by limp/callers I think 3 times and then there're the chk/c gang who just hit anything and everything no matter the call size needed.

I did shove a set of Js into a limp/c chk/c fish who rivered the nuts for stacks, that was fun; and got flush over flushed down the drain bvb, 9hTh v Ah6h on hhh flop, that wasn't so nice.

Was on top form today but got my arse kicked into touch and sat out -5BI.

I might just take a day or two off, this is getting serious now and I'm losing so much it's actually getting embarrassing. I'm also starting to rant about it which is a complete waste of space and does nothing. Grow a pair ffs and work.

Actually, I'll make a vid tomorrow and see if anyone can spot the deliberate mistakes, there're bound to be at least, oh, one maybe?

it's such a shit feeling going through what you're going through. You sometimes question your play and sometimes all you can do is laugh when you see a better set for the 3Rd time that day. it can make you make tight folds as they've had it so often they probably have it again (maybe that's just me).

Honestly Pwll, I have no idea why you are still trying to pile in the hands here when you are losing. Like, if I'm losing consistently I would never keep on grinding I would study and work on my game because best case scenario it is variance but it is possibly more likely you have a major leak in your game.

@CrazyCookie I study a lot, more than maybe is obvious. Playing less hands wont change the wrong end of the variance part round and I have a minimum to play in my contract anyway but the leaks part I concede to!

My biggest leak is not being able to play multiway pots with recreational players who are determined to see flops. Sounds great for me in theory but is actually quite hard to win there without making strong hands. This is no-foldem-holdem time and by the time the flop comes down it looks like a group hug.

Fun games but tough for me to beat. I am not coach Jon, I just try to emulate him. To that end I've had my stats looked at by w34z4l and had plenty of advice which I have attempted to incorporate. I feel now without delusion that I'm playing better than I ever have, I'm just losing for whatever reason and my confidence is waning.
I can fix the confidence bit myself, it's just the old 'doubting my ability' thing sneaking up on me is all.

The losing at the tables bit may be a combination of things, most of which can be rectified and a lot have been already.
Mostly just waiting for the magic to return is all.

Haha ye, as @Jon-PokerVIP says I'm trying to put in more volume for this promotion on BV. The fact I'm losing isn't a reflection on that volume, just the way it goes sometimes. It wasn't long ago I couldn't lose, winning 10 -12 sessions in a row and I'm feeling the pinch now the pendulum has swung the other way is all. I think if I was going the wrong way about it I would have been informed by 'We know Who' by now.

I still have my belief that I can get to nl50 by the end of the year and playing Blaze is giving me a boost to my learning in that the games are so random and wild I just have to come out of the other end a better player.

In other news it seems one of our team has taken his leave, so good luck to him in whatever he decides to do with his life. A very nice guy and was progressing fine imo but he obviously doesn't agree. Shame, I for one will miss his company.
I do know the feeling of being under pressure to win is a negative thing, I used to play 15K hands a month of nl4 zoom to pay bills, if I didn't win we owed money next month and did just the barest of shopping, so when I got a few bad days in a row it would tilt me to hell and back.
Imagine playing nl4 for a financial living, literally.

Me making a decision about leaving isn't really about my playing standard or what I think of it (and it's not been a bad month either). I just think at this point in my life right now I need to get a few things worked out outside of this wonderful game. And then come back a bit more casually and join in with some things on here, but I feel that once I'm a little more settled with some stuff in life that I'll definitely not be affected by the game in ways that I otherwise would.
The amount of time I've put into playing and studying means I've neglected a few things and it's caused a bit of a strain here and there. And I just want to get everything sorted. So nothing negative in anyway about my experience. Just what I need to do.
