I think I'll be more ready for the next one and more able to focus on what I'm doing to. Thank you sir.

Now, after the Lord Mayor's Show I seem to have run round the corner and straight into that lamp post last couple of days. Just sit there getting junk and end up playing like 13/8 with a table full of whales. then of course you get my AK/KK all in versus a reg with AA for a couple of stacks and it's sit out time again.
This is a bit disappointing to say the least and I feel I'm letting people down seeing as how they're so supportive and positive. Kinda makes one feel worse y'know? And the confidence drops like can I still play well enough to win, blah blah, the usual doubts.

Anyhooo, back at it today and see what we can achieve in a more positive mode. Game on.

My muttley had some painkiller stuff to put in her food. The swelling in her joint has gone down and she's jumping around like she's two again so that's good news, but she'll need an op soon just the same. Getting there without transport will be awkward but we'll find a way.

So, back on the horse for me it is then.

Have a fun day all. Sun

Hi there to anyone who has so little to do on a Monday evening they're reading this.

So, been taking another gander at the vid I made and reviewed by the mighty JonVIP and I think I've got some of that down good.
The vid will be available later this week for anyone who would like to comment or just have a laugh really. Please do comment, I really need the help.

Not doing too badly on the tables but those three rough days take a lot of climbing back from so it'll be some time before I see my winrate somewhere like normal.
It's all good though, the other guys in the group are very nice and helpful and Jon makes himself available even if he isn't feeling well. Above and beyond the call I say. Kudos points there.

I'll make a little review of where I was and where I am at, at the end of the month. When is that, oh, Wednesday, cool.

You all crush dem nits now ya here? ...and make sure it's fun. Yes

So it's end of the first month time for me, although I haven't actually been a staked player for that long yet.

Started here and made a vid at nl4, which was my grind limit normally. Got moved up to nl10. Promotion, nice start!

I now play nl10 anon on BV and it's fun there. Posted a few hands for advice and tried my best to analyze hands posted by others. Lol at that one but if you don't try...

I disagreed with the mighty mingthemerciless yesterday so don't tell him I'm here ok? Sweating

P(Mal correct) = 0.03%, P(ming correct) = 99.996%; P(split pot) = 0.001.

So I've just made another review vid, but didn't play as well this time I think. No, I retract that because I think I'm a better player now, I just didn't play my A-game. On one table there was a guy on my right who totally and utterly outplayed me for the whole session. Bastad, just hate it when that happens. I'll be back bro, I'll be back.

So here's a graph of my time here so far.:

Attached Image

Took a bang for a few days and it killed my wr. I think I was at 0.5bb/100 but it's climbing again now.

Really looking forward to October. I'm in a super group who try hard and more than willing to help as does the coach.

A little too much of the old vocal gymnastics for my taste but fk me this guy can get the job done!: world class. Boy/girl bands, listen carefully, then give it up.

To think off stage this guy can hardly communicate. Work if you want it enough.

I suggest skipping to 1:50

.

So run good and have fun next month y'all, just leave my blinds alone! Punch

What a sicko! I think what we say is in October once you are +5bi we will go for the 20nl shot! Just give me a nudge when the time comes and up we go. There is no doubt you have put 100% into this and i just wish there was 20 others like you that we could take on.

An insane start, bad downswing then a blistering upswing to end off the month nicely. Also vwp on the 27k hands!

GL at getting to 20NL. I can see you beating that also.

Great first month in the staking group. Love your graph. Awesome fightback. Looks like you might have a keeper this time @Jon-PokerVIPYes
Posted 8 years ago
@jon-PokerVIP, it's not an upswing, it called...well, ye, ok then.

NL20, now that would be something. Challenge accepted sir! Handshake

@BarraBod, the last pic is todays, I got totally owned. 'Nuff said about that and move on.

@MinerBoy23, thank you very much, I do tend to do the 'not give up' stuff', just a stubborn bastad is all.

Last day of the month and got my arse kicked so hard, typical. Sigh.
Never mind though...
...1st of October tomorrow, new start.

Bigger, better, stronger, faster - yep that's right, the new zimmer arrived.

Run good.

Lets go challenge! You going for the staked player competition and also this forum wide one?

Well yes, not a great start though, hit the stoploss again, but feeling good still. #CoolersRUs

Wasn't very well yesterday but somehow managed to play my A game enough to break even.

Today I felt better and got to the tables earlier. I think I had just about every trick in the book thrown at me this morning, it was really interesting and I had to be right on it.

My favourite tool this morning was the fold button, saved me a lot even though I'm down over a BI. I'll be back later anyway.

Here's what I mean:

Villain plays 14/6 with a 3bet of 1.7% over 280 hands. He may as well be sat out.

Would you call it off?

Here's a more controversial one:

Versus two solid 12/8/0 type nits over 200 or so hands:

Problem.
If I shove over the top the BU is going nowhere and this is a big hand he has always, And what if UTG comes along for the ride as well? He seems to like his hand. Three-way all in with A high doesn't sound very appealing for 140 bigs.

Calling sucks, I'm now OOP with A high playing piggy in the middle.

Strategic withdrawal for me this time, not always obviously, but this time it seemed ok.

Solution if in doubt, get out.

Nits 'R' Us.

Run good and remember, if you aint sure where you stand, sit down.

I seem to be having the old 'running under ev' problem last few days, so it would be really nice if the dealer could just let my 80/20 bvb hold now and again please? Pretty please?

It kinds sucks when your KK v QQ goes down and you build it back up nicely only for it to happen again, so you build it back up and...rinse and repeat. I actually tilted about it yesterday and had to sit out. Why it bothered me I don't know but whatever, it's a rarety so maybe life stuff creeping in the back door.

Apart form that and messing up a few times trying something out of my comfort zone, I really do believe my game has moved on a lot. More kudos points for everybody here for helping. Bowing

So I'm trying to get the hang of this ev/equity etc and watched the mighty w34z3l explaining it all very nicely. You can watch it here

See if I got this right. I need to work out my pot odds, give a range for villain and compare my equity versus that range with the pot odds. If my equity is greater than the pot odds I can carry on?

I hope I have it right because then I can use '+ev' like a geek in my posts - when I can do it of course!

I also heard of max ev which is apparently what I should be striving for. Personally, I think I'll try catching my breath over this first. Sweating

Run good, win all flips, suckout a lot and crush dem varmints.

Damn a week into October already, jeeze doesn't time fly when you're having fun! People will be pumping there gums about Christmas soon...
...oh joy.

Results not confirming it but poker is going just fine. Sometimes, because I'm a fish, I make a super-duper all singing all dancing fancy play to get all the chips in by the river and...we've all been there of course. Blush Thing is I have a stoploss of 3BI, so it sucks to sit out when I'm feeling really good about my game after 500 hands. However, this is also a good thing because it teaches me patience which I tend to lack on occasion.

It'll be nice to get it all together and get out of nl10 as much fun as it is. Just got to keep working.

Keep at it and have fun. Smile

Great thread my man....

Surprised more folk havent asked about the spreadsheet at the start!!!!

That is a tool everybody should be using!

If you can add 3 bet ranges etc it would be glorious and a real money spinner!!

Nice to see you are doing well in the staking too

Posted 8 years ago
@perthhibee, Thanks for popping in sir I hope life is treating you well these days.

The spread sheet has macros so as you can see if I click utg it gives me.

Open raise range
vs 3bet IP range - which inlcudes value 4bet - flat call and 4bet bluff ranges.
vs 3bet OOP - same thing but different ranges obviously.

Further, for each position (say MP) we have the same thing - except for MP we now add in 'Versus UTG OR' ranges with value 3bet cold call and bluff 3bet ranges.

By the time we get to BB, we have ranges for defending versus each position before us, including value 3bet - cold call and bluff 3bet ranges for each.

I just click on what I want really and there they are, all colour coded in front of me.

I can't take credit for the spreadsheet construction though, it was made for me by someone else. I'm not expert enough with macros tbh or I would redo it now.

Also, the mighty w34z4l must be given the credit for the range construction, I just tweaked them a little and will 'tweak' them some more very soon ready to move up.

It's a nice tool for playing multi-tables at anon games. I don't stick to it rigidly of course, it's dependent on table dynamics, but it gives me a solid baseline to work with and helps me stay disciplined.

Now, if only I had one for postflop! Cheeky

Have fun Smile

Time to insert some class again:

Been so busy I forgot to do this, so here we go.

Pokerwise it's been a bit weird. I think I'm now a lot better than my first video review shows but I'm not winning.

Some of this is mistakes, some is the standard AA
Posted 8 years ago
Can someone get rid of the post above please if possible? Something weird going on and it only posted a few lines.

So I took my fat poo machine to the vet and she said, 'Wow, you've really brought quite a lump with you haven't you!? I said, 'Oi biatch, that's my fkn mrs you're talking about!'

So the dog has arthur eye test in her back legs apparently, which turns out to be a relief from what we thought and the medicine is working a treat.

Anyway, here's a pic of her looking much better and loving life again at 9yrs old. The pooch that is, not the mrs!

Poker has been a bit meh lately, lost a few sessions and took a long hard look at things in my game. Got a few things changed like my ranges, and table selection - which can be difficult when traffic is low - and cut out some of the more expensive experimental stuff ( euphemism for spewtard fish).
I've also cut the bottom of my range out whent he tables get a bit bonkers. No good playing 35/30 if nobody listens and we go 3 - 4 handed all session OOP with assorted stacks.

A really good thing for me is making videos for review. They force me to stay focused because everybody can see me fk up. I'm trying to get that mindset into my game and I've cut tables to 4 from 6 until I get that ingrained. Should help a lot, I need to get back into the groove.

That's about it for now, off for coffee and see if I can find ranges for iso-raising from different positions rather than me just banging out 4.5bb with anything vaguely pretty.

Ha you are horrible to your Mrs! You must have a permanent bruised ear from when she smacks you every time you insult her.

Dog looks super happy! Bit of a lump tho yes...what do you fee that thing?
Posted 8 years ago
NL10 regs of course, what else! Giggle
Posted 8 years ago
Actually we cut her down to 1/3 of what she was getting, but she's part mastiff anyway so a bit of a brick anyway.

And yes, my mrs knows me only too well unfortunately and can see through me like a window pane.

So, last post fro today I have to go out, just to put in that I'm having a coaching this week sometime. I think I might be on the edge of the scheme because I just cant seem to post a winning session this last week or so. Working hard on the game but sometimes you can work on the wrong stuff or learn too much too quick and it all goes tits up for a while.
I have no doubt the mighty mingthemerciless will sort me out in double quick time, including a few new swear words to 'Add to dictionary.'

On the plus side I had a really interesting sweat session with a fellow member and got an insight into what other people think when playing. I disagreed with a couple of things he said but whatever, I learned a few things to and I would be naive if I thought I knew more than he does.

So, get a coaching, make a vid of my play at the weekend, make a profit again and become mr popularity on a Christmas calendar.

Seems a good plan to me.

Run good y'all.
