Yay, gogo me - just not on a hoverboard at my age, no thank you. Jeeze, could you imagine me on one of those bloody things after a few bevvies? Laugh

Oh just remembered, I need to go bind my screen names.

Greetings fellow demi-gods, just got time for a quick blabber before washing the dishes, shopping and walk the pooch. Oh ye, it's the balla life for moi for sure.

Well it's taken some time but it seems according to the replies I get in the HH forum I've got my bet sizing improved and my line analysis often agrees with theirs a lot more often. All in all I'm playing better and better. That's a huge plus sign over a few weeks and I'm not deluding myself either, I really am - for an nl10 fish that is (chuckle). Generally enjoying the game and the atmosphere here helps a huge amount to.

On the minus side, I've had my arse abused so often last few weeks I feel like the noob in the men's shower in jail picking up the soap. I have to admit it's getting to me now to. I'm pretty good at passing it off, but it's that it feels relentless that is starting to grind me down. I'm now losing at the rate I was winning at a couple of months ago in tougher games; go figure. Frustrating me a bit.
The thing that keeps me going lately is knowing for definite I'm headed in the right direction.

Say no to ranting, posting horrendous graphs. bad beat hands and shit or whingeing guys, just grow a pair and move on init! Yawn If you don't Jon will pop in and kick yur arse for being a wimp. Oh yes.

OPL starts today! Looking forward to that I haven't played tourneys hardly ever so it'll be fun for sure! I had a friend who said my temperament was good for MTTs because I don't get rattled easy (see above for contradictory evidence) so we'll see. I used to own freerolls many moons ago and built 4 bankrolls from nothing out of them. The old 10K seats, win 15c if you can survive to 260th place ones. Won a few for something silly like $35 or whatever (party). Strategy, nit it up, simples - and it only takes about 10 days to get ITM to!

So I'll enjoy these, they may improve my mood and we never know, I may just bink one and all the little RNG godlets will be forgiven in a flash; because that's how we roll at micros init! Cheeky

You have a great time and if you want to shove all in do it versus me, it must surely +ev. Hug

haha yeh i am not a fan of whining am i! Just like the idea of manning up, sticking to the plan and crushing which you did last night! Little spoiler and sorry for stealing the good news post but congrats on winning the opening tournament of the OPL season and taking home over $200 and 100 points towards the leader board. Hard work pays off! lets make some money Smile

You are more than welcome to hijack my party and I thank you very much, but the truth is, if it wasn't for you and PokerVIP I wouldn't even have been in it, so a huge bag of kudos points on its way!

Brag alert!

The winner of the very first OPL tourney, I'm a pathfinder! Oh and not to mention the 100 points and of course $205 buckaroonies! PartyDancing

Big congrats to all who turned up and participated, you helped make it a fun night to, not just the happy winners like me. Oh ye and mustn't forget our esteemed leader Jon for taking the time to run the thing and entertain us - for how long was that? Bowing

Get involved people, it's fun and you get to be famous for a bit! Star

So apparently a good way to go is to check how pots I lose on the flop, small pots like raise pre, cbet, that sort of stuff. So I'll get onto that asap.

Right, Oscar speech over I'd better get to the tables, I haven't had time today yet.

Have fun

Posted 8 years ago
haha our pleasure mate! I knew you would have a good shot over this entire season which is why i was so on you guys to get singed up and get involved. 2 months of epic grinding ahead...that 100 point lock up is so major!
Posted 8 years ago*
Thank you Jon, very encouraging of you as ever.
Well, I managed to get 'singed' up to a couple more sites for the OPL so that's good. I forgot to click for the bankroll thingy though, so I'll have to make deposits myself when I need them. Of course I'm running out of dosh because I'm a fish so can't do more then one more.

Pokerwise it's all a bit Emo lately. Not enough volume because I'm trying to table select better and a crappy dealer is a pain. You just can't get good help these days can you. Meh, whatever.

Oh and FTP UK just will NOT uninstall! I tried all sorts of stuff, even to downloading a couple of different 3rd party uninstallers, nothing worked. Looked it up and say a thingy about registry so tried that but there'r no KEY things in there to delete. Looks like it's here to bloody stay until I get a new PC next month.
Sigh, you never have a geek about when you need one do you.

Anyway, a couple fo new guys on the team so I hope they do well until I play the next OPL I'm in.

Next one is betfair, check it out for a hoverboard 1st prize! I won't be there this time, my next one is BWin tomorrow.

Later all, run good.

Posted 8 years ago
Well the last couple of OPL tourneys didn't go according to plan much, totally card dead in the aCR one this time round and I was defending champ to! How the mighty are fallen, eh.

Poker hasn't been good, I've been a bit off my game I think, so I Jon's first review of me again and it all came flooding back. Totally own the game when I play like that and today was no different. This time however, I not only had a few more bullets in the gun, I had a variety of guns to choose from. I didn't win much and for a good while I was losing, but I'd dumped the zombie mode so it didn't matter today.

I'd forgotten how that felt, so even more kudos points on the way to the main man JonVIP for leading me by the hand. Bowing

No, graphs, no pics, no posts of suckouts and bad beats.

Just one nice hand versus a weak reg:

He for def has a Kx, but is the x a spade like T/J/Q and how much will he pay if he has that? Given villain is a reg and called thturn I think there's a good chance he has one of those.

Of course, having raised preflop I can't have the nuts can I? Such short memories these guys, seriously.

So I pot it like a bluffy fish.

Not been very well for a few days now but I did enjoy chilling out in the OPL, even though I got kicked out early. Good fun banter with JonVIP and the others in the twitch chat made me feel a little better.
Shoutout to the bossman @Jon-PokerVIP who took down the Unibet one for 100 points, some nice dorrars and the Go-Pro prize. Nice job indeedy! Of course he's going to be a fkn nightmare now you do realize that don't you. So funny, really enjoyed it.

For myself, I did try to play a few hands later on when I felt ok and was doing fine yet again and yet again I got he job of picking up the soap in the showers. Such a loose fun game but couldn't play long it was getting late.

This was the biggest pot I've been in at nl10 since joining here and we were all deep. I did consider a squeeze but these guys are going nowhere anytime soon believe me. Enjoy.

Pwll: So here's the Excel sheet with macros to activate each range. It's useful to have around for 3bet/4bet bluffing ranges mostly these days and they're all on one sheet.

Clicking the UTG button on the left gives us:

MP shows:

and clicking on BB yields:

Click the other buttons on the left as required. For example this is my reply to CO OR:

Simples. I can't claim credit for the construction of the Sheet though.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The ranges are obviously not static but they give me a solid baseline. If I remember correctly the ranges are adapted a little from w34z3l's as well. We like w34z3l Bowing

As for my style, well I do try to adapt to each player now so I sit at less tables, generally 4 - 6, but again if they are reg infested I add a few FR because people are really really bad there. I haven't played anonymous tables yet.

I'm a huge fan of iso-raising one limper IP or OOP but I can be too wild with my ranges. Having said that, the regs don't punish me for it so a RR from them is value nearly always so no probs there.

I'm trying to steal a lot more but then again the regs do like to defend their SB quite often. Why the SB and not the BB I have no idea, perhaps it's a maternal thing Kiss

That should do it to start this off with for now. Please feel free when you stop laughing at my stats to make some sort of attempt to reply. I like replies.

Run good people. Smile

Care to share that sheet?

That hand is brutal - hate it when people have the freeroll and hit Sad
Posted 8 years ago
Hi jon, to be truthful when I see his hand I cover my eyes, hold me breath - and being the eternal pessimist - wait for the inevitable. When it doesn't arrive I feel justified and when it does I cry and shout 'rigged' and 'Why me?' And a few other choice expletives not safe for family viewing.
Only joking really, I used to be like that, now its a sort of *sigh* a 'Ye ye, thanks dealer' and get on with the next one. I do try to treat horrid situations like folding. If I fold prefop and am asked at the end of the hand, 'Didn't you have...' blah blah, I couldn't say what the hand was, once the hand is folded why would I want to remember what I had? So I try to use that kind of thinking and apply it elsewhere. Works for me.

Well I really must be getting old, I'm sure I posted a long story here about this month and next. Oh well, this one will be shorter, my memory fails me on what I wrote anyway - again.

So, end of November and where am I? Still not getting that winning streak of 3/4/5 or more days in a row which is frankly a bit frustrating. I used to to 10/11/12 but maybe the games being the way they are at nl10 I'm asking a lot. We'll see about that.

Nearly made it to break even from a horrid start this month, but yesterday stuffed that. I thought if I could get the last 3 days going good I'd do ok. Shame. Listening to somebody talk about heir ev line the other day I peeked at mine - mistake - depressing - shut it off. I haven't looked at my profit/loss either but I know I'm not winning. All I can say is I think my winrate has climbed up, but then that wasn't hard from where it was, hence the bloody title of this init!

Next month I'll be putting theory into practice and using range assumptions and considerations into my game more. I'm pretty good at the 'feel' part, have been for ages, but it's not enough now, I want more. I started this week on it, the ranges aren't too tough to do now but they do take me a while still. It's the combos that I want to add into it that will slow me down for a bit.
I'll find something by the mighty w34z4l, that'll do it!

I also need a new pc so I really do have to win some dorrars. I got this junk because my HP pavillion got the blue screen of death buthtis only cost me £80 so you can imagine. I often have to start it 4 or 5 times and many times it's taken 15 minutes to det signed in, then I click IE or Mail or Skype, or...and nada, 'element can't be found' Wtf is that fkn all about?' So I force shutdown and start again - and again - and...

So anywhooo, got loads to do do prepare for next month, really looking forward to getting those winning streaks going.

You all have great time and I hope November went really well for you, but not as good as December will go!

Nobody better than this lady, just flawless. Shame her Wembley tickets were starting at £130 each! A little above of my pay scale unfortunately:

Hi there killjoy1987, nice of you to pop in, thank you.
Ye, pretty epic hand for nl10 and nice hand BU for nearly 5BI, whew!
Posted 8 years ago
A big positive from last month is that the staking group as a whole made a nice profit, so well played them. From ym personal point of view, I'm trying out a new strategy this month, it's called winning apparently. Day one went badly, seems my graph doesn't like heights, but it's been slightly better last couple of days. Kinda frustrating to win 1 or 1.5BI only to lose 3 the next session. I'm looking into it, it may be some magic ingredient I need to be born with, but then maybe it's Maybelline. Make-up

In the spirit of the above, here's an interesting one versus an 11/7/2 AF 0.0 comatose zombie over 345 hands:

I bet pot because Ax makes up a large part of this guys PF calling range, as do things like JJ/QQ, can't give him much else really.
Once he calls flop he has Ax all day and all I want is a nice turn to ship it in. He would fold everything else on that board anyway most times. Yes sometimes nits can get sticky and he might just have got bored folding all day, but on that board? So, whatever, I'm going with my read. Emo

So I finished 11th in the opl and between yesterday and tday lost 5BI at cash. Good start bro. Talk about fkn owned, I can barely win a pot for more than 5bb. I can tell you what sucks the most to, not losing or getting my aces cracked all that fun stuff, but the games are so good you'd drool if you saw the stats on these guys. So frustrating! Angry

So I'm sat out for the day until I get my brain back into gear and I'll play Bwin tonight instead with a beer for a chillout. Not doing as well in these as I'd hoped for given the fields are quite small in some of them, but plenty to go yet so we'll see.

You all have a great weekend, stay dry and if you're having the same weather as me, out of that wind!

I leave you with what must be one of the most disgusting jobs I've seen for ages. This is just nasty:

Posted 8 years ago
I used to wonder why I was never going anywhere in poker an why I always lost the flips even if it was AA v AK BUT IV LEARNT a lot lately an what I have learned has not only changed my poker game but my whole life I was moaning an giving out an always picturing the worst out come well I have switched this over time to only think positive an instead of listening to my conscious mind I know attract allot of good via my subconscious mind , take a look at the movie called the secret its on youtube also start to learn about the law of attraction I can positively say after a week of studying this every thing you do from there on will come natural to you
Posted 8 years ago
The secret film - the ultimate con movie of all time Smile
Posted 8 years ago
Hi pokershark Smile
I know about the law of attraction and I didn't like it much because some of it's applications seemed just silly to me. No doubt a philosophy expert would shoot me down using big words but it's not for me. Thanks for the advice though and for popping in to read my drivel! Smile I can't comment on the movie as I haven't heard of it, so I'll look it up.

Anyway, I'm taking it a bit easy today because I've run the old batteries down too much. Some of it is a bit of stress over trying to provide Mrs Mal with a couple of nice Christmas presents and some due to her and the muttley not being very well. That and the mrs still having to go to work in storms and shit doesn't bode well for my demeanour. Nothing new and nothing I can't handle, although I think changing the dealer in my poker game might provide some selfish benefit!

Volume is down for now but I can catch that up, mainly due to hitting stoploss too early in the session and having to sit out for the day. Of course that has the knock-on effect of reducing the number of hands suitable for posting as well.
Winnings are down but not a lot I can do there, just plod along and keep my shoulder to the wheel. It would be nice for the old ego to get a few positive results this week, even if just to reward the coach for his patience.

So, not much else, just you guys have fun, run good and maybe I'll see you on Tiger Gaming for the OPL tonight?

Mal Inger out.
Posted 8 years ago
Wow, no update for two weeks, things must be going tits up right? Right?

Well, ye a little bit as far as results are concerned, me having to drop a level to nl4 because for whatever reasons I just could not get two winning sessions going in a row at nl10. I tjust felt I was banging my head against a wall, so drop a peg, win 5BI straight away playing the same kind of villains. Go figure.

Anyway, what this has done is give me a little breathing space to work on my game, ready for the new year, for which I have some goals etc., which I'd like to achieve.
It would be fun to get to nl50, which I am certain is gettable, although I don't want to set limits on my poker goals really, just enjoy the ride - or the rollercoaster as it has been lately!

I'd like to save a few quid and surprise my other quarter later in the year so need a bigger winrate than I presently possess that's for sure.
So, study over Christmas and if I lose in the new year it'll be mostly runbad which I don't give a toss about frankly. Just play the old A game stuff and have fun, the rest, as they say, will take care of itself.

In other news my pride and joy is not well and as we know can't take time off - actually refused to until the last couple of days - so is now laid up on the sofa under strict orders from nursey Mal. She does love a guy in uniform...

So, play your A game, be well and enjoy Christmas if you're into all that stuff and have a fun holiday even if you're a Grinch like me. See you all next year raring to go git dem varmints!

Peace.

Mal Content out.

I think the drop down personally will just propel you to having a huge 2016.

From what i can see it has basically allowed you to reassess all your leaks and basically feel no pressure whilst learning how to fix them

Keep at it and lets hit that 50nl goal!
