Day 12 - have to take it with a bit of salt. Firstly everything went good, chipped up constantly, at 350$ mark changed table ratio to 3xNL25$ and 1xNL10, got up to 375$ or so and hoped for that 400$ mark. Unfortunately, started to run badly, lost all in for 30$ w/ AKvsKJ where he opened 12bb and I just jammed (BUvCO). River J. Also lost 10 and 15$ pots where I squeezed pre, player called off most of his stack and flops me dead (I stick in my AK/AQ for ridic SPR ofc). Like this hand - a rec opens big, I make a huge raise w/ AK from SB and BB calls it off with 1$ behind, rec folds. He flops flush with 43s and I'm dead. So tilting Laugh These spots are so frustrating, way more than simple PF AI suck out.

Even though day ended badly, still increased roll by 17% and now it stands at 337$.

Aaand I NAILED THAT 8AM WAKE UP TIME!!! Gotta keep it up, can't fuck it up as I've finally gotten so close to make it my routine!

Hands:
1) Biggest hand of the challenge so far!

2) Interesting river spot, not much info on villain - just that he has limp folded once an I've labeled him as rec. Discussed this hand with @Joshk81 and we agreed that river should be a bet/fold for ~7$. Anyone fancies to make a comment regarding river spot?

Day 13 - ran good, managed to flop top set vs smaller set on wet flops twice in 3 min time frame. One way traffic all day long. Increased my BR by 40% and now it is 469$. Played interesting HU battle that lasted close to 1h. Villain was very aggro, very sticky (I learnt it the hard way). Eventually I got him when flopped nut flush in 3bet flop and gave him the rope with flop check/call. Rake took quite a lot I think, I ended up like 75 bb's on him before HU got interrupted.

Woke up 8am for the 2nd day in the row!!! Also, got my new monitor, easily can fit 6 tables and 8 with small overlap - great success! Now I got more that 1 meter wide monitor screen Laugh (combo by 29' ultra wide and 22' 16:9). Might post pic of set up later.

Only hand worth posting:

Can't wait for the set-up pics. I'm glad you like the new monitor. Also, the challenge seems to be going swimmingly so far, I wonder how long it will take you to get to 10k.

Crushing lol ... probably should post the AJ hand in the forums to give it some air if you wanted more extensive feedback on it.

Day 14 - bad day, very uneventful, only increased my roll by 21% and now we are at 570$. Don't even have hands to post. I will add 5th NL25 tables starting from tomorrow and have to decide on NL50 shot. I think I will go for stake mix at 750$ and have buffer zone at 600-650$.

Had some issue with the stream today, I guess I was lagging and when I checked my CPU status - it was running close to 100% - wtf? From 1 semester I attended at Uni, my Hardware (???) professor said that it is almost impossible to use i7 for it's fullest potential, so can it really be possible that my i5 is too weak?? @MattVIP what do you think? I have not cleaned my PC since I bought it like 2 years ago, could it be that it's dusty inside and therefore performance is affected?

Meanwhile I will cut down my stream quality to 540p - it turns out you need X number of channel followers / views to get the privilege to change stream quality (for the viewer), so my stream is lagging for people on mobile devices and weaker connections. 3 columns - no overlap, some free space.
4 columns - small overlap.
Both rows tables are same size.
Now I got 8 table capable main monitor and big ass secondary monitor for lobbies, charts, obs, porn, chrome, other soft.

Do the Randy Lew get two of them and have them setup sidewise Yes

Reading like a column is much much easier for the brain than reading sideways

Day 15 - got poisoned by food yesterday, bathroom was my best friend all night long Heart , so today felt like shit, no energy, but forced in 3.5h in regardless. Solid C gaming Laugh There was a key moment in session when I squeezed AQ, cbed QXXssc oop vs caller (funky villain, had raised me off top 2p earlier when flush hit otr - I started to view him as aggro spewer), turn Kc, I check, he Pots (effectively jams as just few $ behind), I GII and he has AK Angry River Q and I ship it. If I had lost that pot I'd been down to like 510 and I'd quit for the day (as sickness effects tilt threshold massively and I lost KKvsAA before 100bb). As I won, I kept C gaming, took some donations and ended up at 605$. "Small" day, but I take that knowing conditions.

Tomorrow might be a long, long grind as it seems I won't have other plans and therefore will go hard in overtime. SO BRING IT ON!!!

Two hands
1) Owned. Had no reads.

2) Vs Slovak, therefore more likely to be a decent reg. Folding too tight or all right?

1) I think maybe raise turn .... SB should rarely have you beat here but likely calling with some kind of outs. It is unlikely they would check call flop with a flopped set or flush then check turn again; more common line is to check call flop donk turn or check raise flop lead turn with a made hand so weight him to a draw and raise turn to fold out small blind. As played it is a bit gross but given the previous statement about made hands perhaps call here?

2) HU on button raising turn is an option? On river you lose to a lot but it is hard to adequately assign a range without knowing the playing history. The turn bet is smaller than flop and river relative to the pot and feels blockerish more than value orientated so I think this would be a great spot to bluff raise turn... Is he really half potting for value on that turn with a board that coordinated?

Also, don't play sick. I have done it thinking I would be ok but being even a little bit ill can completely throw things out the window. I had a similar experience with life tilt after my ex did something completely stupid .... "I have good tilt control" was a notion that got completely turned on it's head. So avoid playing ill or when people try to take a moronic mental dump on you.

Chrome is notorious for hogging the CPU. Are you using a Twitch chat client (e.g. Chatty or KapChat) to read the chat and lay it over the stream video? If so, then you can close Chrome and free up a big chunk of the CPU.

@Joshk81 1) Not sure I like raising on turn. If SB has draw, he has easy fold and I get to in just vs BB who actually has sets and flushes in his range. Also, if we raise and SB jams - shitty spot. River was interesting as I assumed I do not beat anything of SB's value range - obviously he was betting for value his 2p. I've mostly seen rec at N8 take this line with nutish holdings - KhXh or even QJhXh would take this line imo. So yeah, gross spot.

2) Again, with this many outs I don't like raising IP. We can play our equity and implied odds very profitably and if we raise and he comes on top - again, very shitty spot with so many outs. I prefer using weaker draws for my bluffs there and call monster draws IP.

"So avoid playing ill or when people try to take a moronic mental dump on you."

I can relate to this unfortunately. I don't really get mad at all, but if I feel shitty, play poker, lose, and some people then starts doing idiotic shit that affects me - I can lose it..

Day 16 (and therefore week 3) - ran good in morning, won AI PF when I 5bet jammed my A3s vs reg who woke up w/ KK. Also won AKvQQ aipf. After that, things slowed down, I stared to lose too, but still all right day - super close to NL50 shot! We are at 713$!

So, 100$ + 3 weeks = 713$, it's all right score, isn't it? Actually looking at 1k month starting from the bottom Laugh

Handzzz
1) Bang Bang, really like my line!
Attached Image

2) vs rec, not sure about flop - if I go on top my hand is face up and I expected him to be air heavy a bit.

3) Guys, take a note from this hand - this is HOW YOU DO NOT play river (from villains perspective), his bet is fine, but it is BET/FOLD. B/C is aids.

I missed that CPU issue from a few posts back. It can be literally anything but buying a can of compressed air and cleaning the insides of your PC is a good start especially if you haven't done that in two years. Also, if you're using regular HDD it might be a good idea to download a piece of software called Ccleaner and use it on that drive. If that doesn't help report back and we'll think of something more specific.

As for the challenge, I'm sure you talked about your bankroll management strategy a few posts back but I'd be glad if you could remind me the details. I'm curious where did you start and what's your strategy for taking shots at higher limits.

All right, gonna try out cleaning, hopefully I don't break anything Laugh I've got SSD and just like 10% of memory used.

Well, the BRM is uber GTO - start with 4-tabling NL10 w/ 100$, dropped down to 50$ (did not drop tables he he), mix in 2 NL25 + 2 NL10 tables from 250, drop 1 NL 10 to 25 at 300, drop final NL10 table at 375. I plan to do the same transition to NL50 once reach 750 with dropping NL25 completely ~1k mark. If fail, cut NL50 tables at 650 so I do not risk losing any serious % of roll. Not decided for NL100 yet, prob mix at 2.5k, but will see how it goes. Oh, and I play bunch oh HU with that BR Smile I find this mixing strategy to work out the best, this way it's more conservative and mentally easier to move up w/o having many failed shots.

The thing is, when I 4 table and stream, I play with full focus, make regular breaks and I've been able to dominate the tables so far. Twitching really helps to keep away from autopilot-clicking as I don't want to embarrass myself! I expected to have 10bb+/100 wr at NL25, so "downswings" should be rare as there are tons of donations from blue air that balance coolers. I hope this trend continues at NL50!

Glad to see the challenge going well. How you rate the games there?
Posted 7 years ago
Too early to say, NL10, 25 is soft af at every site if you do any table selecting. One thing tho - games seems to be the best in mornings, like 8am-1pm GMT which is perfect for me.
Posted 7 years ago
Yeah true. I know that personally I spend quite a bit of time generally just trying to get on tables wherever I play, just because I want to choose what seems to be the best ones I can find. I've not touched on Natural8 yet but just heard stuff about the Chinese poker boom and maybe a lot of new players to the game on that site, more than normal maybe, but I don't know.
