Wp. On that first hand i would suggest betting the turn. You let him check behind his combo and flush draws but I guess if you have solid reads which you did then its ok to play it differently if you think thats most profitable.

Yeah, I knew that this guy will fire a pot with 100% of draws / gutters / air / value hands both turn and river when I check.

I like how you played those hands given your opponents description. It's good that you can deviate a lot from standard lines when the situation calls for it. Especially in that first hand where a lot of passive opponents will have you beat on the river quite often.

Whats next?

As Betfair is killing Hand of the week promo, the RB is not that great anymore. I mean, with that promo I got ~91.6% of my rake back, and w/o it's ~55%. Therefore I'll put more volume in Europe-Bet from now. I bought the converter and set up my HUD today. I feel so much more comfortable when the HUD is running! 1-2 tables is ok w/o it, but when it's more it starts to get too difficult to pay attention on players. TY HUD! So the goal for May is to absolutely crush their NL100 GEL games (~NL40 EUR), and start shooting / move up to NL200 GEL, which is a seriously high limit for me. Note that 1k eur in my country = 4k eur in UK / GER /France etc.

I also have to decide of my investment priorities - I will make a post about them tomorrow, since this one is already too long.

So, as I already mentioned, I have a decisions to make on where / how I'll invest my monies first. I think I've already decided, so here goes the order:

1) New set up! I've already posted in Matt's PC/Laptop thread.. This will probably cost me ~1k eur. But it's crucial investment, since I'm running a very poor laptop atm, which keeps lagging in longer sessions and I have to use it's resources very cautiously not to crush everything.

2) Poker software.

I had a hand the other day vs one of the top iPoker's reg, where in 3bet pot I raised IP his cbet on K106ss Flop with QJr and he pushed A9r. I was like 'WTF man, you're nuts!', but he was cool enough to explain (table was 4 handed with a nit and 2 of top 3 regs + me) - he just said that his note caddy said it's +5bb push since it gave me a range of FD's and OESD (gonna balance w/ some sets from now on - gotta learn the hard way). He respects me and my play, and he strongly suggested me getting Note Caddy edge Ultimate package (200$). I got this guy on Skype, so will talk more about it, but it sounded like that HUD is just nuts!

So in order to get that package, I suppose I finally have to buy HM2 for 75$ (I'm using cracked version, shout out to Russians lol) + Note Caddy premium (75$) + Note Caddy edge Ultimate (200$) = 350$. I just spent 45$ on converter as well!

I was thinking of having this as my 1) priority, but I realized my laptop isn't capable of handling it

3) Aaaand here is my long-term target investment! I need a car! BMW 3/6 series coupe ~2008 would be baller enough! Price range is 10-15k eur, and I don't expect being able to afford one for a while, but the target time is until Christmas this year! Having this car would be just sick, since most guys here have a car up to 5k eur range.




Please let me know what you think of this, especially 1) and 2) since I need those asap!

BTW my BR is ~4k eur ATM and few hundred in my bank account. That's everything I have to my name.. My living expenses are very low, less then 500eur/month.

I don't tell people / friends that I play poker full time, because It will lead to long bullshiting including the good ones 'but how much did you lose?', 'If I give you 200 eur, can you double it?', 'Once I was playing with friends and jadajadajadajada blah blah...' and the conversation will end at a point that I'm a degen and need help, and should look for a real job.

My game right now when it comes to this question is saying I'm student, but when it's friends who know I'm drop out, I just sit still and listen to jokes of me doing nothing, offers to do some gardening for 100 eur/month etc. The common post-soviet mentality doesn't help as well. btw these people usually make ~2-3x less than me...

Love this blog man great winnings and you seem set RE people questioning your poker I would try to just avoid it. When someone asks oh what do you do and you have to reply "poker" I would just say when they ask I make enough from it to get by and if they keep pestering begin talking about something really complicated and when they don't understand just say that yeah it is complicated and this is why you can make money

As for a poker setup this should be your top priority imo. Playing long sessions you have to be comfortable, have a nice environment to play and it be enjoyable. I have no idea how anyone plays on a laptop or on a small desk. I have always had a big desk, big screens and a powerful computer....it is our job afterall so we have to have good equipment. Its just like a joiner having a shit hammer - it makes no sense!

As for note caddy it is something i have not used so i can't comment here. Sounds like that reg is a little crazy to share that info but very nice of him at the same time. I guess they have a trial period maybe?

Jon - these are all reg tables, I don't play speed poker at all.

I've already ordered full PC setup as Matt suggested, so I will finally have a nice grind station next week! Took a chunk out of my BR.

Car - I don't put anything aside. To buy 10k car, I need ~15k in my BR, so I take out 10k and leave 5k. Safest and the most logical approach imo.

Caddy - yeah, it was cool of this guy. I'll probably buy all the soft when I recover from my PC withdrawal. Might be mid-May.



Finally opened up NL100 tables on Europe-Bet as getting used to software. Finally some poker - people know where the fold button is and how to 3bet. 3x open also seems more common! The games are still soft, but so much less tilting!

Hey guys! I had my first losing week since January!

-170 eur in ~3k hands. Just ~10h of play. Highly below EV tho.

I flew away to Sweden on Friday, where I took part in a big relay for my Swedish club, so I missed all weekend. All expenses were covered, so my BR didn't suffer any hit. Anyway, volume was very low, due to some technical problems (mouse died) and overall feeling like a shit.

Good news is, I'm getting my new set up tomorrow! Can't wait to get everything going on a new system!

So I got my new poker PC today! I've been working around it all day. Everything seems so fast and smooth!

I'll finally buy a licence for HM2 pro tomorrow - the first step of advancing my poker software! Hopefully I'll start playing poker tomorrow evening. Have to decide on VPN service as well - any suggestions?

My aids-run is continuing as I ran 150e below EV yesterday BR is melted to some 2.5k eur after all withdrawals etc. I'm not very worried about it - run bad will end eventually.

Interesting, Im on the same road as you. also playing full time on europebet at the moment, the field is very soft but im still a bit concerned about the rake.
On 50NL when I go allin with 100bbs i pay 6! Gel in rake.. this is alot and means the rake cap of 3 GEL is not true.
The Rakeback is low aswell. Gold level is easy to attain but its only 20% and i think it will be 15% in reality because all the tables are Jackpot tables.
With jackpot tables u pay 1% extra in rake. Whats your insight on this? And how much rake u payed on 100NL?

On the other hand, I pay ~10bb/100 on Betfair as well. What makes the difference is RB level. On Betfair it's solid, 55% minimum, while on EB it's who knows how much, might be just 15% as you mentioned. So theoretically games should be ~5bb/100 softer to make Europe-Bet superior. Probably even more, since I'm not counting the money we don't get since opponents also pay more rake. I'm not very sure the games are that much softer, so atm I prefer Betfair over Europe-Bet unless PokerVIP improves the deal. On EB there are tons of 20bb fish, while on Betfair there are tons of 100bb British whales.


To update my situation - I got Europe-Bet running smoothly yesterday, played some hands. BUT Betfair is not working yet.. For some reason I can't get hands stored locally on my computer, so HUD is not working. I had long conversation with their support, and now I'm awaiting solution from their technical team. Maybe some guru who knows the solution here?

I hate Europe-Bet! Running below EV 14/17 sessions there. Moving there was the worst thing happened to me in my 'poker career'.


I surely have had 10k+ hand loosing stretches before, but this is the most painful of the way I lose. Hitting top of the ranges constantly, my KK/QQ/AK into AA. I've almost busted my Europe-Bet 500 eur roll. I'm left with some 230 gel (90 eur) or so. Sure I haven't played my A game, I've spewed some, but not that much. Anyway - I am not going to re-deposit there again, if I bust completely.





To sum up my month - I'm down ~350-400 EUR in ~8k hands. Can I turn it around and finish the month in the green? I surely can!

After a lucky coincidence I haven't busted my roll on Europe-Bet (yet)! At my down point I won JJ over AA aipf for 100 gel pot (I had like 100 left), and after that hand I finally found some upswing (at least for EV line)!




Money wise I'm still almost busto with 350 left of my initial 1250 gel deposit.

My Betfair issues are still not solved, so EB is the only room I can play with HUD, therefore I had to mix in their NL20 tables (NL8? eur lol). You can see that I tend to play very TAG style (note that stats are 2-6 handed, not just 6).




Due to 'upswing', I'm less tilted, therefore playing better. No more hero calls, fancy plays. Only few people there are capable of raising with range instead of nuts. Had to learn the hard way.

12 days to go to get out of the hole! bangbangbang
