Ran good in morning session and cleaned tables like a bad mf. Adding NL50 tables later today!

1) Fun hand. Fast table, so just 10 sec to decide, so managed to calculate just approx pot odds. Now I see that turn call is slightly -EV, but I guess it's w/e if fish shoves up with this and other random.

Weekend challenge sum up

9028/9000 hands, 24h 10min of play.

God I missed those NL50 spewers!

Weekend grinds are fun! NL50 rungood was very well timed and crucial for me as now I've got some room since this weekend increased my roll by 50%.
I should do this type of mini-challenges more often as they really motivates to push volume! Also, now I see it clearly that I must start my morning session at 9AM, this way I CAN get in 3k hands (and 8h) by 6-7pm and have a evening for lol life. If I start 11-11.30am, I'm "free" just around 9-9.30pm, which is not sustainable if I seek life balance and will result in me grinding just 4-6h instead of full work day. I used to think that in evenings games are better, but it is not true as time zone helps us - Aussies / NZ are +9h, and we get Canadians / Brazilians as well.

Also, once again I see that NL50 is softer than NL20/30! I believe it's everywhere this way if you table select. Well known Russian bot ring at 50 is a bit pain in ass, I try to avoid having them on my left. Sucks that 888 don't care, but what can you do.

The plan for now is to grind hard NL50 till I got 3k roll, then it's time for NL100. Not gonna procrastinate it this time!

Congrats sir! Interesting stuff. The part about starting the productivity early in the day and healthy work-life balance is so true and I find that it's exactly the same for me. I don't know about NL50 being easier than NL20/30, but it might be that it's better suited for your particular skillset. For example, being a central defender in a Segunda Division is probably easier than being a striker in Primera Division but Christiano Ronaldo will feel and perform much better in that second - arguably more difficult - scenario.

Thanks! Re softness - you might be right. NL50 play looser, people bluff, stacks fly around more.
Also, this chart is something to think of. I'm not sure how much it's based on research, but for me it's pretty accurate.

I said this about my site the other day! The guys that want to sit down and just punt off stacks and gamble always go for 50nl! 20nl doesn't give them the rush they are after and any higher is too much risk! On Tonybetv at the moment the 50nl games are easier than 10nl! 10nl is just full of tight regs on the 'grind'

@MilfGrinder It's based on a fairly solid research in the field of behavioral psychology. The whole idea of 'flow' started with the Jerks-Dodson law according to which there's optimal amount of stress that ensures the optimal performance. You might see an article about this on the site in the future.

MY MAN!

What a crushing weekend that is wpwpwp and yeh I bet that really takes some pressure off.

That pussy guy seems to really like you!
Posted 7 years ago
Yeah, the pressure is off, feels really good! I had all my funds locked in Lottos for first deposit bonus, so I even took out 200 eur SMSCredit (no commission, 0% for 30 days) like 10 days ago for living expenses, so upswing was well timed.

Pussy guy is actually pretty nice, he's BE regfish from what I see.

Well, I feel like you have to explain the hand above in order for it to make some sense. Did you have my friend's favorite poker note on the villain (POW - pay off wizard) Laugh ?
Posted 7 years ago
I think you already guessed the reasoning for it Smile
Danny boy was a player, having a fun night and basically being all in every hand (not jamming pre, but playing out hands like a bad ass!) He kept reloading 60bb's, and in total 'distributed' 700 bb's to table. I had Jesus seat on him. He really made poker fun and enjoyable!

Heater slowed down, played B-, therefore too passive. Also couldn't hit flop and made made some bad plays. Anyway, grinded through, got some heat again in the end and bluelinewarriored out of hole!

Tomorrow is the last grind day of July for me, so bring it on!

Are you going to post your monthly summary tomorrow after the last session?
Posted 7 years ago
Yep, tomorrow or Sunday evening (more likely) when I get back from country. I'm getting up before 9am lately (goal is to push it to 8am), so I plan to put decent volume tomorrow.

Reason why I'm heading to country side is because of traditional "Sport fest" (not sure of right word in English) of my home county. The main event of it is a tournament of Latvian card game. It goes for 5 hours, 5 different rounds. 4 people per table, after each round points are credited. Everyone thinks the game is complex and shit, but it's not. I pretty much solved it few years ago, and now I play it just once a year - this tournament. Of 5 time I played it, I've won twice and once came 2nd. I'm the raining champ, and looking for back to back!

Also, there is 5km race around village in evening (My PB is 16:40 or smth like that). I have minor leg injury, I haven't ran for a week, but gonna do this one on painkillers although it will probably give 1 month extra for recovery. + getting shit faced in country side disco! Laugh

1) Annnd a hand from earlier. I thought I had sizing tell on rec... was wrong :/ He gave most of it back tho.

Ok, I'm done for the month.

July

Goals were 50k+ hands and move back to NL50. I'm back at 50, but failed volume target. I was away alot, not only weekends, but also weekdays due to family problems. Also, I could have hit if woke up earlier.. anyway, it is what it is.

Green line is missing some 40$. Nice to have some RB (20%), especially now when I rake like 15$/h.
But yeah, happy with the month!

And something for micro players to think of - at low point I was left with just 350eur roll, so a lot is possible if you try! Wink Went NL20->30->20->30->50.

August goals
1) 50k+ hands;
2) 2x weekend 9k hand minichallenge;
3) My first shot at NL100;
4) Waking up 8am.
