I just made and sent my 30 min video for Jon to review. I won't go into details, but there were few interesting pots and HU vs a reg on 1 table (I wouldn't do it normally since rake too high, but I couldn't get tables going). My first ever video, so don't be too hard on me when it comes out Smile

Sure it will be great. I'm really looking forward to watching it. Its a shame there is no commentary from you to hear the thought process when taking an explo line.
Posted 8 years ago
I'm sure Jon will do a good work with getting into my head! I think there won't be much non standard lines in video tho, 30 min is very limited time and tables were regish. Of course I'll answer about hands if any questions.

Fun spot but since that bet clearly wasn't for value I wonder what kind of hands you wanted to fold out? Also, what's your range for raising this flop?
Posted 8 years ago
Thanks for pointing this out!

Hand it self is played bad, no reasoning behind river bet except auto-pilot C game button clicking.

Not sure about my flop raising range tbh, Q9s should be there. What is your's in that spot?

I'm on hangover atm, and my last session of the month was on Friday. I will sum up my month tomorrow, but it seems that I have pulled off a positive month after all. Very low volume and general performance level was poor. A lot of work ahead on June if I want to keep up with my goals!

Well c-game happens to everyone so as long as you're working on it don't worry about it.

As for the hand... call obviously isn't bad but since you probably call a ton of hands BB vs. SB I'd prefer to raise with at least some flush draws to keep my raise cbet % in this spot at some decent number. Besides when it comes to draws specifically with raise you'll usually gain initiative (basically most opponents won't ever lead turn when they bet/called flop) and because of that even if you end up seeing the river it will often be cheaper than if you took a passive line since you can probably decide if you want to take a free card on the turn.

I'm looking forward to the summary that you mentioned.

May resume

The month started with a new poker set up! I invested ~800e of my BR into poker pc + finally bought a legal HM2, pro version! Due to some technical problems, HUD wasn't working on iPoker, so I did 100% of my volume in Europe-Bet.

100$=100 GEL actually, which is ~38 EUR. I've cashed out my Europe-Bet roll, and I estimate a loss of 265 EUR there on May. I don't suggest depositing there.

I got my HUD working on iPoker's tables, good to be back there!

I got an email from 888, saying if I deposit 10$ they credit 20$ for free. It was just a trick of course, and I had to rake $$$ to actually get it. So I played 1 table of NL20 on 888 besides Betfair for the last week. I bumhunted as hard as you can with my 1.5 BI roll, and I have to say these games are nuts.

----------------------------------
To sum up, I finished approximately -50 EUR from poker in May

1. I managed only 50% of my April's volume;
2. I didn't played any full weekend;
3. 200 EUR below EV;
4. TILT (not at it's best, but tilt resulted C game, which is not very profitable).

What makes this a positive month, is a random 200e payment from Military, which I didn't expect to receive (I did some competing for them back in March in Slovenia). I'm also about to get some 200-250e from a shady Sportbook whoring deal with a friend of mine (bonus whoring / sure bet strategy with my name).

----------------------------------
What will I do in June, to keep up my progress, and come closer to my long-term goal?

1. Ranges! Finally construct a decent ranges! I will use Wiesel's guidelines for start;
2. NL50! I must move up, if I don't want to stuck in a same limit for too long! (happened on NL5 in past, since I was scared of NL10 lol);
3. Dedication! 10k hours of work is how one can get to the top 1% of anything one desires. I've lacked dedicated study work so far. I must change it;
4. Volume! I have to get my ass back on grind, like I did on April. 50k hand target again! (note, that I only play regular tables);
5. Schedule my day! I piss away a lot of time by doing useless stuff. If I convert even 50% of it into work, my volume will improve drastically;
6. Run! I've dropped physical trainings almost completely. I should work out at least 4 times a week, because it is as cts said on his Joe Ingram podcast - "Look good, feel good, play good".
7. Enjoy! No point of life, if you don't enjoy it!

I should also consider getting some coaching, which is very expensive for my Eastern European standards.

Have a good grind on June everybody!

"7. Enjoy! No point of life, if you don't enjoy it!" - Agree for 101%

"should also consider getting some coaching, which is very expensive for my Eastern European standards." -> 20-40$ per hour is fair price for nl20 player.
You dont need coaching from nl10-nl200 regurals for lets say 100$ per hour. 1on1 coaching is the best way to improove in short time.

But what i think is much more better for you right now, is to look/search in POKERVIP/internet for some studiing material. You can find a ton of good vids/articles here, how to fix leaks in your game.
For example you should improove your redline asap, looks like you have a seriouse leak there.

Anyway good luck in June!!
PS.: tell me your iPoker screen name Laugh

My screenname is BudeLepsie, Now you can avoid me at the tables Smile

Haha, yeah. I guess you'll have to wait until Jon releases my video review for my screen name Smile

Redline - I don't think you can call a negative redline a serious leak in micro stakes. There's ton of crushers with a redline like mine. I've seen most of the decent videos here on PokerVIP, free videos on Youtube etc. I've enjoyed wiesel's input, so I consider getting some coaching hours from him, and he's not the cheapest option. Maybe I should subscribe to RIO essentials? I've heard only good about them.

hehe, I will :D:D

If I counted it correctly, your Non showdown winrate in May is about -20bb/100 (10K hands and -400$). I thing this is quite seriouse. Dont you think? If you can improve it to -10bb/100 than it is fine, but -20bb/100 is a huge leak.

Please correct me if i am wrong!

"Maybe I should subscribe to RIO essentials? I've heard only good about them."

I have ROI essentials, and i dont find it very usefull for nl20 grinder, probabaly from nl50 i will use it more. On the other hand it is only 10$/month, so if you find there only 1 or 2 videos per monts than it is worth.

Point 7: Enjoy

Something i was personally lacking but have started to gain back recently. Gotta be loving the game to go through all the bad times and torture. Keep at it man and i can't wait to follow this month.

Whats up?

I spent all day today watching over some of the recent wiesel's videos taking notes, and I found some big leaks in my game!

1. Flop fold to cbet. Should be ~40%, while I fold ~60%;
2. Flop raise cbet. Should be ~15%, even 20% LP, while I raise cbet just shy above 8%;
3. Ranges! I have to increase my 3bet, 4bet an cc%. Actually my 4bet is not far from optimal, but cold call is terribly low.
4. Cbet! Optimal by streets is 55% (even 65-70% against a donk like me) |50-53%|45%, while I do 54%|39%|53%
5. Fix ranges against 3bets. Should fold ~60% actually, I fold just 50%. It means, dropping away marginal equity hands, which are often dominated and hard to get value from.

So here is a lot of work ahead! Some exact ranges are provided in Wiesel's videos, like SBvsBTN 3bet/cc, and that's a good start (he's selling complete ranges). I got total of 9 screens of his ranges, which I have to learn, and also adapt on other positions. Where my w/r is low, is SB and BB. I lose -20 and -40bb/100, and fixing it up to -10 amd -30bb/100 will increase my overall w/r drastically!

For the following days I'm going to spend my first part of the day studying, since player pool is not great anyway. (My day goes from 13am-4am or so, GTM +2). I'll start planning my time!

Lets hope my downswing will be +EV for my long-term performance!Smile

Aaand for the red line discussion, I checked out mine graph, and I lose close to -10bb/100, so the -20bb/100 was just variance tho.

By the way, I'm looking for dedicated winning players from NL20+, who are going through the same stuff, or even has done their range work already. I'd like to talk some shit on skype, so if anyone interested, please PM me or just leave a comment / skype name.

I'm not sure how good idea is to post it here, but since just few people here play against me and this is somewhat standard I'll go ahead..

I worked on my opening ranges, and I came up with this.

I'd love to hear some comments and suggestions! I know I can go much wider from BTN / SB, but these are general guidelines.

Sick update and it is amazing just how much work you can now do after watching a couple of our free videos. Weasel is awesome and his theory is generally spot on so you can't go far wrong there.

Personally for me a TAG opening range for each position would look something like this:

Sick to see you doing so much work aside from just on the tables. I feel a lot of people who want to get better at poker forget how much work there is to do outside of the tables, especially hand ranges. I've generally stuck to the ones Jon gave me which are the ones posted above, only I open the button even lighter because I think stealing is so profitable at lower stakes.

Nice to see that graph rising steady.

Thanks a lot guys! And thanks for your ranges Jon, I did some changes in my previous try!

The issue that I had (have) and many others have as well, is when you're winning, you don't care much about working on your game. You watch some videos etc, but you foolishly think that your game is good anyway. And then downswing hits with following tilt issues.. and you just play play play because you deserve to win! This is not a problem when you actually play good, since variance is a bitch and all you can do is grind thru it. But if your game is leaking in so many aspect as mine, it requires a lot of work to keep moving forward!
