1) Still failing in moving up to NL50;
2) Feeling I've improved my game a lot lately and I can run over my table when A gaming;
3) Low volume;
4) I played very low volume of HU and run bad there.
---------------------------------------------
July

1) ATTACK NL50!!!
2) Keep on studying every day;
3) 40k hands. I'll be away 2 full weekends and maybe some more. July usually is the only month with a really nice weather here, so 40k hands is a high goal actually.

Wow! What rakeback are you on?!?! Nice graph buddy and gl with 50nl! I found that it is a tough move but a lot of it is mental, have you considered either hiring a coach or befriending a 50nl reg to help you move up? Doing it alone is super tough but having someone help guide you through the first stages I found was a massive help!

Whats the POA on attacking 50nl? What seems to be stopping the crushing of it?
Posted 8 years ago
@CrazyCookie It's standard Betfair deal, but I try to exploit Betfair's promotions when they are running. I've considered getting coach, but the $ aspect is holding me back from it.

@Jon-PokerVIP I've lacked motivation for it. I mean, 1k/month is very good for me, and shots always bring some risks. I guess I'm just afraid to ruin my month with a failed shot. This have to change!

If you look at my current BR - I currently have like 125 BI's at NL20, and 50 BI's for NL50. I feel comfortable with ~100 BI's or so. I know, many will say that I'm a puss, but as I'm doing poker for living, I like to minimize all the risks, and I know 15-20 BI downswings are real. But I'll gambool more with the variance and will make a reasonable shots at NL50. It doesn't matter if I don't profit this month. I know I'm capable of beating that limit.

If you look back in this thread, you will see a post about my future investments. I've fulfilled 1) and 2), which were New set up and Poker software. Time to move forward and bring it to a new level!

Time for an update!

July is mean to me. First, my super unhealthy life style finally caught up with me, and my body broke for a 2 weeks. This was caused by insufficient nutrition + alcohol + no work outs. My head was blowing up and I felt like a shit. Tried to grind at first, but could D game at best after 20 min. First ~2k hands on graph.

The good news is, that I finally got back to real grind on Saturday!
The bad news - I had my all time worse day yesterday! Smile -230$! I think I played very good poker the hole time except the last hand when the tilt kicked in and I just gamboooled the stack away. Most of the time I just found myself on the worst end on variance in addition to losing KK to AJo aipf in 90$ pot.

So at the moment I'm -150 eur after just 5.5k hands into a mid July. 40k hand goal seems impossible knowing that I'm heading to a music festival this Friday, which will delete 4 days.

I'm getting more and more used to the features my HUD offers, and my red line is clearly ''improving''. When it's 4-6 handed, I don't fear any reg I play against anymore. Gotta find my balls to shoot at NL50 now! Hate doing it when stucked, but hey, what can I do, gotta lose my money!

To humiliate myself and prevent me from repeating it, I'll post 2 spews I made here.

1) This is that final hand. This is the guy who won that big pot against me earlier when he 3bet shoved AJo 150bb against my open. He started with 8 GBP and just shoved crap and won every single time. The fact alone that I min open K9o from CO shows that 'I have lost it'.

And that's it, rest I played very well imo!

I just did my database analyse on iPoker regulars. I've got ton of guys with 50-100k hands on, and surprise, surprise - there is literally just 1 (!!!!!!!), 1 fucking reg who's crushing the game! I know him and he's absolute sicko crushing NL100+ as well. What about the rest? BREAK EVEN at best. It's just so ridiculous, is poker really that dead?

I've been thinking of it for a while, and it seems I'll finally say bye bye to Betfair and iPoker. It seems like it's not worth it when the Hand of the week promotion is not running (it makes 100% RB for NL20 grinder).

Which room to choose? I've got two slightly different options:

1) 888 - low RB, supposed to be very soft games. I'll have to make an account on my bro name to use first deposit bonus for extra 400$ or w/e it was. I'd jump straight into NL30 games. Prob will buy some datamined hands from ptr.

2) The Hive - Yachting poker or Planet win. I've got 0 experience with that network, but I've heard it's very soft as well. Needs a hand converter + can't buy hand histories. Will take lot of time until I can use my superior HUD lol.

Any advice? This is a really big decision to make.

In other news - I'm off to music festival tomorrow. Not very sure I'll survive tho.

Hey MilfGrinder,

Some observations.

888 - Stories are true, very soft. Rake is higher. HUD does not work with SNAP (zoom) tables. SNAP tables are capped to 3. Reg tables are capped to 6. Both pretty annoying if you like to put in high volume. Overall nice place to play but usually makes a nice secondary room as opposed to main place to grind.

Yachting - Also high rake and soft games. Claims to offer fast format games, but try them and you will see that it doesn't really. Opens up some weird table in the browser with no HUD support and barely function from what I can tell. Regular table are decent and very soft, also offers mid-stake action from fish which is nice. If you add more than about 8 tables the software starts to lag really bad - so despite the fact that it looks great, it doesn't function very well for mass multi-tablers. Lower traffic overall than 888 as far as I know as far as I know. So even though it doesn't officially have a low table cap like 888 it might aswell have one.

Anyway, both are reasonable places to play but the softer games come at a price, either through rake, dodgy software, or table caps etc. Both I would usually consider as secondary rooms to play alongside a bigger room. If I was faced with your decision I would usually pick 888 despite the table cap.

Btw I haven't really paid a lot of attention to Ipoker lately, haven't been playing there myself. Can you tell me how the 100% RB works with the promo? I thought maybe stuff like this was not possible after Ipoker switched to essence rake system, so would be interested to hear how it works.
Posted 8 years ago
Hey weazel, thanks for stepping in! I really respect you as a coach, and I even use your guidelines with my ranges!

Hmm, 6 table cap seems annoying, that's true, but thanks for your advice! I assume at 888 there are more than just 1 crusher at NL20/NL30. So I guess 888 it is!

100% RB (or even more) works only on Betfair and if you grind NL20. They sometimes run a promo, where if you make a hand higher than JJJJ10 for an example, you receive a share of 2 or 2.5k eur each week. Last month a guy playing 35/2 got like 1.5-2k eur from that promo alone. It only works on Betfair's tables (NL20 0-6 tables, NL50 rarely runs). So If you grind exclusively Betfair NL20 tables while the promo is running, I'd expect even 150-200% RB. Normal RB there is 55% (including 10% from rake race). And you have to adjust your strategy for 'quad mining' and 'straight flush draw' to exploit the promo. Oh, and you must use both holecards and reach a showdown. If you have AQ on AAA2K board, it does not count.

I would never recomend 888. The exchange rates there are a JOKE they scam you out of cash. deposit £100 get £90 worth in $ take that out and you end up with £82 or something. Only thing I would say is if you are looking to play there hackle with thier support. Say you are thinking about moving and what deals can they offer. Give them an ammount 80% of the ammount u wanna actually put in they will say somink like fif you pout in $1k instead of $800 we will give you $100 after you rake x amount of points or whatever.

@MinerBoy23 Thanks man!

Somehow I've survived last weekend! Wasn't easy tho!

As for room change, I got 1.5k eur in Skrill ready to go into 888. That's like 55 BI's for NL30. I left 400 eur into Betfair, which I will use to exploit their promo, play only soft tables and bumhunt fish HU. I hope this move will be +EV for me.

I probably won't play today, since I still feel half dead and I need more recovery. Later this week I'm gonna make another video for Jon to review!

Feel free to make a video on those 888 tables for me @MilfGrinder . Pretty interested to see what the games look like on there.

Interesting how you chose 888 and i hope it pays off for you. The software seems fine but what @CrazyCookie said i don't personally know anything about but is well worth looking into.

BTW a little cheat code on 888 is when depositing a chat will pop up if you hang around there long enough. Say you are depositing and want a bonus. Say you are putting in 1k and they will offer you X, then ask what they will give you if you deposit 1500 and it will go up.

Just a nice little br boost!

Can I have some of what you're on CC???

killjoy1987: Can I have some of what you're on CC???

LOL

Hey MilfGrinder, I play on 888poker and I think you will crush there, tables are really soft. Do you plan on playing regular tables or snap? Make sure you chat with them to get a bonus!

killjoy1987: Can I have some of what you're on CC???

^ This lol

@Kasa I plan to focus on regular tables since HUD not working on snap, but I might mix them in as well if they prove to be softer.

So I created an account, did some chat with support. for 1k eur they offered 400$ first deposit bonus. For 1.5k eur I'd get 10$ extra bonus. Is it all they can do?
I uploaded docs and have to wait 72h before verification. Got to fix a Skrill account for my brother to make the actual deposit as well. So meanwhile I'll just grind iPoker I guess.
Posted 8 years ago
@MilfGrinder Wasn't aware it was your first deposit but that deal sounds ok. Anything extra is a win and just by talking to support when depositing is always a good idea.

Will look forward to your report.

Was away for the weekend, no poker last few days.

So today I was ready for my deposit into 888, but now they denied the 400$ first deposit bonus. So fucking great. All I can get there is 50$ instant bonus for 1000 deposit, or 90$ instant bonus for 1500$ deposit. So I'm getting less than 1/4 of the standard bonus. Is it worth it, or should I better look into Party / The Hive?

Do u play for a living , if so how long?

Your graph for 20nl on the whole is very good, so well done.

Trying to break 20nl myself, so i will subscribe and follow with interest.

Iv also recently started going through Hm2 database to take notes on players but everyone i look at is apparently a losing player, i just thought the information was incorrect as most of them are regs so i dont think they would continuously play losing the amounts it says there losing.
