Fair enough Wink I'm running bad also, best thing to do is to just make sure you are improving your game, play as best as you can and don't let it weigh on you. How many buy ins do you have for your current limit?

On party I've got 15 or so, another 35 on stars and 15 on Unibet. I'm not worried about the money so much I just will find it hard to move money with all the Brexit currency charges on Stars

I wouldn't worry about the brexit thing ATM, that is just there because of the volatility in the market Smile

You're br is at a size that you honestly have no need sorry about varience. I think I have 60bi or so like yourself and varience is having a really minimal effect on me.

I'm going to do a video review tomorrow for Jon to look at. I'm concerned that my technical game is suffering and I just can't see it. I think there is a possibility that feeling good in myself especially after a week off means that I'm not feeling the tilt hurt so much and so I think its not there when actually I'm playing horrible.

The variance continues to be pretty bad I think, but as long as its just that I'll continue to work my way out of it. If my game is shot then I'm going to quit Party Poker and take a few weeks off to regroup. I'm now down 16BI. 10 of that is just below EV and I'm pretty confident I'm actually running bad beyond that in the set up stakes that EV can't see. However the issue is that I can't withdraw from Stars without paying 4% on my currency to refund here if I carry on losing. I'm down to like 10bi on here which currently would not even get me to the 30k hands to release the bonus but I've got a lot of acrued bonus I'd hate to miss out on.

I'm currently reading Jarred Tendler - the mental game of poker not sure if you've read it but for dealing with the mental side of tilt and other issues its a real good read there is also an audio version id say its one of the best books I've read since studying poker

Yeah its a really good book. I actually prefer the second one I think. I'm not having major issues with tilt I don't think. I'm just losing a lot.

July so far is going as well as June did on Party Poker.

FFS stop posting your all in ev line. Why are you still using it?! You know it shows so little about how you are running. Getting so sick of people posting it when it's not even close to actual run bad also. When you run 40-50buy ins under EV you can say it is run bad, and even then it won't be close to the worst you can run.

Chill out dude. I never said I was running bad woe is me, look at my EV line. It is a reflection of part of your overall luck though. Of course it's not true as doesn't cover set over set or KK into AA etc but it's not wrong. I don't get why people get so upset about it.

Anyhow I'm getting bored of writing about Poker and my travails. I think it does me no favours even in a world without me attacking myself or tilting my balls off. Instead until the Party Poker journey is over or I start to rostucko I'm going to talk fitness development I think.

I'm old now and being fit doesn't come as easy anymore.

It doesn't cover when you flop a set of 3's on an 5t3 board and stack v AA. 90% of the time you loss your call preflop (-10bb*0.9=9bb) about 1% you lose your stack set over set (100bb*0.01=1bb). You win 100bb about 8% of the time (100bb*0.8=8bb). The overall EV of that spot is pretty much breakeven but in this example you won 100bb. You run a whole buy in +EV.

You flop a flush draw and make a slightly +EV call OTF and OTT then hit your flush and win 40bb. You run 30-35bb +EV.

Tonnes of other examples, and you comfortably run a lot over or under EV through these in just 500 hands.

Compare that to the times you get it all in which isn't actually that often.

That is why it doesn't reflect your luck, that is why it is completely pointless looking at it.

You could run 100bi -EV over 100k hands but hit more sets, make more flushes and make more 2p than your fajr share and over the 100k hands break even and feel you were raped when in actual fact you ran close to normal.

No I know, thats just more examples of the same things I'm talking about like set over set etc. There is also the bell curve that shows how lucky you are hitting sets and draws but that doesn't deal with what your villains have against them. If you hit every flush but they hit a better one thats not really lucky. The fact it doesn't cover it all doesn't mean you should discard it. I love cosmology and astrophysics and there is a metric fuckton no-one can explain or even see yet but we still use the measures we do have. Being below AI EV doesn't mean you are definately running bad overall but it makes it more likely that you are. You might argue not by much but its still true. Again though I'm not saying I'm running bad because I'm below EV. I'm running bad because I'm running into the nuts a lot with good hands and air when I have the nuts. It just so happens that I'm also not getting my share of the AI. I don't get why it upsets you so much.

You running bad but above EV? Cheeky

The only line that matters imo is the little green one, the rest are just there to help that one go up. That's what I think.

Run better Smile

All I'm going to say I'd that it cannot be positive in anyway to look at it, so having it is -EV.
Posted 7 years ago
I entirely disagree but thats fair enough everyone has their own view. I think the green line is the most pointless one of the lot. Normally on my graph I have the green line removed and only consider the yellow one. Its not perfect but its a better reflection of if I'm making good decisions than the green one. Looking at the green line is more results focussed.

Having both and stressing about how different they are can't be good but I don't do that. Looking at it all the time can't be good but I don't do that.

To quote a line from a TV show that should've been much worse than it turned out to be: "If nothing that we do matters then all that matters is what we do."
