Yep, Jason Mercier!

He beat James Obst heads up for his 5th bracelet and over $420k in a stacked competition that also saw Chris Ferguson, Erik Seidel, Jason Somerville, and Bryn Kenney making the money.

As a result of this win the Twitter war of words going on with Vanessa Selbst apparently starting to make excuses for her 180/1 prop bet that Mercier wouldn't win 3 bracelets this summer, is sure to continue

Event #21 $3000 6-Max NLHE saw deep runs from Daniel Negreanu (19th), Doug Polk (15th) and David Vamplew (10th), but it was Calvin Lee who came out on top of the 1,029 entries for $531,577 and the bracelet. This was a huge result for Calvin who previously only had 2 recorded cashes and $47,000 total earnings (both WSOP events)

Cesar Garcia has picked up his first major tournament win after a number of final table finishes in WPT, EPT and UKIPT events, doubling his career earnings after taking down Event #23 $2000 No Limit Hold'em for $447,739

In Event #25 $2,500 No Limit Hold'em, successful online player from New Jersey Michael Gagliano bested the 1,045 entries to take down $448,463 and the bracelet in his first live tournament victory, after final tabling this same tournament back in 2012.

Benny Glaser has won the UK's first bracelet on the summer in Event #26 $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo for $244,103. This Benny's 2nd bracelet after taking down Event 33# $1,500 2-7 Triple Draw last year and finishing 5th in Event #16 $10k 2-7 Draw just last week.

Finally a UK bracelet - we have been performing so bad since what 2012 was it when Cody, Perrins, Craig Mc etc crushed it all.
Posted 7 years ago
Incidentally, Craig Mc finished 6th in Event #23 yesterday for $75k. But yeah, not seen much of the Brits at all. Ben Heath has had a couple of deepish runs and a shame Charlie Carrell didn't head out there

Why did Charlie not go?

He has been crushing Pokerstars though for like $40k the past couple of weeks as well.

Bracelet Update

It has been a huge weekend for Johnnie Craig, the 54 year old military veteran who has served numerous times in Iraq and Afghanistan and previously had less than $4000 in recorded live earnings, as he took down Event #27 $1000 Senior's No Limit Hold'em Championship for a huge $538,204! The event had an unscheduled 4th day added due to the record field of 4,499 entries which paid 675 players.

In other big news, it has been a huge summer so far for Ian Johns, who already has his picture in this thread after winning Event #8 $1,500 HORSE on the 7th July for over $200,000, who has done it again, this time winning just short of $300,000 and his second bracelet this summer (his third overall) in Event #28 $10k Limit Hold'em Championship! This will be a summer to remember for him with over half of the events still to go!

Russia has picked up it's first bracelet of the summer, with Viatcheslav Ortynskiy being the only non-American on the final table of Event #30 $3000 6-Max Pot Limit Omaha, who won it for $344,327 and his first bracelet after coming up short on a number of previous WSOP final tables.

What was the turnout for the super seniors? Seems huge!
Posted 7 years ago
@Jon-PokerVIP 1,476 entries, so yeah pretty big prizepool!

Benny Glaser could be at it again for the Brits as he leads the final 3 in Event #32 $10k Omaha Hi-Lo today with $400,000 up top!

Chip counts
Doug Lorgeree - 3,095,000
Benny Glaser - 3,225,000
Matt Glantz - 1,850,000

Good luck Benny!

Unreal how nearly 1500, 65+ year olds turned up for that event. Not sure on regular senior event numbers but that seems insane to me!
Posted 7 years ago
The $1000 55+ got nearly 4.5k!! The regular $1k no limit tournament only got 2.2k! They must come out just to play the Senior's events!
Posted 7 years ago
Well Benny Glaser did it! Picking up his and the UK's second bracelet of the summer, joining Jason Mercier and Ian Johns on 2 bracelets so far!

Picking up $407,194 in Event #32 $10k Omaha Hi-Lo Championship!

Russia has also picked up another bracelet with Andrey Zaichenko taking down Event #34 $1,500 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw, adding $117,947 to his $2.5million live cashes and finally winning a bracelet after a number of final table finishes over the years.

Mercier really is crushing it!! He final tabled the other $10k as well, just huge, he should walk the Player of the Year this year!

Pokertube have put this interview up with him as well

Any background info on this Benny Glaser guy?
Posted 7 years ago
He appears to be an EPT regular, going off Hendon Mob, with a number of wins in Mixed game / non NLHE side events. Won his first bracelet last year in Omaha Hi-Lo to go with the two Omaha Hi-Lo bracelets this year. He also won the $2k SCOOP Stud Hi-Lo event for $54k in May so looks to be an all round crusher! He is "rungodlike" on Pokerstars, but his stats are locked/invisible on the usual sites
