Jodie Sanders couldn't quite take his overnight chip lead all the way, finishing second after a long and tense four hour heads-up battle against Jordan Hufty in Event #1: $565 Casino Employees No Limit Hold'em. Jordan wins the bracelet and adds $61.909 to his modest previous live cashes of just $1,900. The poker dealer and floor man will no doubt be enjoying the rest of the summer!

Phil Hellmuth headlines Day 2 of Event #3: $3,000 No Limit Hold'em Shootout, after being one of the 50 players who won their table in Day 1 to progress to the next round. All are guaranteed $6,302 but Hellmuth will be looking for that top prize of $226,218 and adding a 15th WSOP bracelet to his collection!

10 tables of 5 will play Day 2 with the winners of each table advancing to the final table for Day 3. Other notable names still remaining are 2015 WSOP Champion Joe McKeehen, fellow Main Event champion Joe Cada as well as November Niner Kenny Halleart and British Pro Chris Moorman

Two former Main Event champions are still in the hunt for the bracelet in Event #3: $3,000 No Limit Hold'em Shootout after winning their second tables yesterday. 2015 winner Joe McKeehen joins 2009 champion Joe Cada in the remaining 10 as the final table will play down to a winner later today

A field of 911 has been whittled down to it's final 36 in Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better with Brandon Ageloff leading the chip counts with over half a million. All are guaranteed $5,605 with a top prize of $239,771

A "New" event to the schedule is Event #5: $100,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller, though the tournament is effectively what was previously the One Drop event, but doesn't have that feature due to the $1Million Big One For One Drop later in the series.

As you expect, most of the big names and high roller regulars were there for Day 1 (with the exception of last years champion Doug Polk). Hot on the tails of his bracelet win just a couple of days ago, Elio Fox bags the most going into todays Day 2. Players can still register during Day 2 so there may be more big names still to come, including re-entries from those already knocked out, except Daniel Negreanu who has already used, and lost, both of his bullets!

It's a third bracelet for 2009 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Cada as he wins all his tables in Event #3: $3,000 No Limit Hold'em Shootout for a nice $226,218. 2015 champion Joe McKeehen finished 3rd for just over $100,000

Another first-time bracelet winner has been crowned in Event #8: $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw Lowball as high roller regular Johannes Becker adds $180,455 to his previous live cashes of $2,000,000

In the online spectrum, records were broken as a total of 2,972 entrants made Event #10: $365 WSOP.com ONLINE No-Limit Hold'em the largest online tournament event held in Nevada generating a prizepool of just under $1million. 333 players cashed but it was William 'Twooopair' Reymond who comes out on top for a very nice $154,996.

The big news in Event #7: COLOSSUS - $565 No-Limit Hold'em was none other than poker superstar Phil Ivey bagging at the end of his Day 1 - seeming like dropping down in stakes is no problem for him! He eventually finished in 533rd place for just over $2000. The COLOSSUS amount of 13,070 entries has been reduced to the final 36 with Matthew Causa leading the way for the $1,000,000 guaranteed first prize! The only familiar name remaining is John Racener who is sitting 6th in the chip counts

There's a couple of big names in the Final 6 of Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship with High Stakes Poker legend Eli Elezra going into the final table with the chip lead and 2,700,000 chips, bagging up alongside Paul Volpe, Adam Coats, Kyle Miaso, Viacheslav Zhukov and Dustin Dirksen who will all be dreaming of the bracelet win and the $417,921 top prize.

World Series regular Jeremy Harkin, who has notched up a lot of WSOP cashes since 2003 has finally achieved his dream of winning a gold bracelet! He took down Event #12: $1,500 Dealers Choice 6-Handed and with it the jewellery and $129,882 in prize money!

It was a RIDICULOUS day for Shaun Deeb, as he was simultaneously playing two Day 2's at the same time, running across the corridors of the Rio trying to keep both stacks alive! Keep both stacks alive he did! He now has two Day 3's to play today!

Notably there are just 3 left in Event #14: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw with Shaun 2nd in chips and guaranteed $36,000 and in Event #13: Big Blind Antes $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em 29 remain with Shaun towards the lower end of the chip counts

Shaun Deeb couldn't do the ultimate day as he busts out of both the above events!

Colombia's Daniel Ospina wins Event #14: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw which isn't only his first WSOP bracelet, but the first for his country of Colombia as a whole!

Justin Bonomo is having a ridiculous year, having won 2 super High Roller titles already and won over $10million in live cashes in 2018 alone! He has now progressed to the Final 4 in Event #16: $10,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship where he, along with Martijn Gerrits, Juan Pardo Dominguez and Jason McConnon, will be eyeing up the $185,965 top prize.

One of the biggest tournaments of the series, Event #7: COLOSSUS - $565 No-Limit Hold'em drew a staggering 13,070 entries creating a $6.5million prizepool, and saw Brazilian Roberly Felicio take home the lions share - a cool $1,000,000!

To add some update to my previous post, Justin Bonomo has won his semi-final heads-up match in Event #16 so will be looking for another big win against the winner of the second semi-final which is still in play

Justin Bonomo's heater of a year is certainly continuing as he takes his live earnings for the year to $14.5 million (and it's still early June!) after victory in Event #16: $10,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship after defeating the UK's Jason McConnon in the final heads-up match to win his second ever bracelet and $185,965.

Event #13: Big Blind Antes $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em is a new addition to the WSOP schedule, and Benjamin Moon is the inaugral champion, winning his first ever gold bracelet and a massive $315,346 after coming out on top of the 1,306 entries.

Day 4 of Event #15: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. lasted just 20 minutes as Russia's Andrey Zhigalov made quick work of Timothy Frazin in the unscheduled 4th day after 14 hours of poker during Day 3!

Event #18: $10,000 Dealers Choice 6-Handed is a popular one and sees some big names fighting it in the mixed game format, and it's WSOP regular Adam Friedman who came out on top for his 2nd career bracelet and $293,275 prize money, taking him to just under $2.5million in lifetime cashes.

Craig Varnell adds a maiden bracelet win to his long list of WSOP cashes over recent years after taking down Event #19: $565 Pot-Limit Omaha, outlasting 2,419 entries and a final table that included main event champion Jonathon Duhamel to win $181,790

After an epic 4 hour heads-up battle against Spanish pro David Laka in Event #20: Big Blind Antes $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em, it's American Jeremy Wien who comes out victorious for a juicy $537,710 and his first bracelet, tripling his previous total live cashes

The final table of Event #21: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em MILLIONAIRE MAKER came to a dramatic end in the early hours of this morning, after seeing original "Hendon Mobster" Barny Boatman finishing in 7th place, former WSOP Champion Joe McKeehen in 3rd place and after a very strong showing throughout the final, popular British player Sam Razavi finishing runner up to young German Arne Kern, who wins a massive $1,173,223, totally eclipsing his previous live cashes of a modest $50,000!

Daniel Negreanu records his first cash and final table in Event #22: $1,500 Eight Game Mix but falls just short in 3rd place to British winner Philip Long who picks up $147,348 and his first gold bracelet.

Doyle Brunson was the talk of the Las Vegas town as he announced his apparent retirement from poker prior to Event #23: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship, and it was nearly a fairytale ending as he made the final table, but it wasn't to be as the WSOP legend isn't able to add to his 10 bracelets, finishing in 6th place.

However, it was a dream final table for none other than Brian Rast, as he takes it down for his 4th gold bracelet, and the $259,670 prize money taking his total career live cashes to over $21million!

Martin Jacobson is another former Main Event champion to make a final table so far this series, this time in Event #24: THE MARATHON - $2,620 No-Limit Hold'em, but he couldn't capitalise on a tough final table and it's Australian Michael Addamo who came out on top of the 1,637 entries after five long days of 100minute levels. It was worth it though and he will be taking home his first WSOP silverware and a chunky $653,581!

Another first time bracelet winner, and another piece of silveware heading to the UK, is in the shape of Benjamin Dobson, who took down Event #25: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better, for a career best score of $173,528, which takes his live earnings over $1million.

It was an emotional final table in Event #26: $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha as Filippos Stavrakis bests 986 entrants to claim his first bracelet, dedicating his win to his late brother Jimmy

WSOP regular and popular player John Hennigan takes his live cashes to over $8million, winning his 5th bracelet in the process in Event #27: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. and a nice $414,692 payday

In Event #28: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed, just over a year since winning a WSOP Circuit ring, Gal Yifrach can now add a bracelet to his trophy cabinet, as well as the $461,798 in prize money

Ryan Bambrick was able to hold onto his chip lead for most of the final day of Event #30: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha, eventually capitalizing and taking it down for the bracelet and over $200,000!

It was an eventful final table in Event #31: $1,500 Seven Card Stud, which had lots of bracelet winners amongst the players, no less than the pantomime villain himself Chris Ferguson, but it was self-proclaimed 'mediocre player' Steven Albini who takes home the gold and $105,629

It was a bumper prizepool in Event #32: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em as a record 5,918 entries battled it out for 4 days with teacher Matthew Davis emerging victorious for a huge $662,676 and his first bracelet

Event #33: $50,000 Poker Players Championship is one of the most prestigious events in the WSOP calendar and the one the big names all want to win! 87 players paid the $50,000 buy-in and the seating draw is a who's who of who in poker!

There were some big names making the money including Phil Ivey, Dan Smith and Shaun Deeb, but it was another historic World Series moment as Michael Mizrachi wins this event for an unprecedented THIRD time!

Coming with it was the massive $1,239,126 prize and his 4th overall bracelet

It was another bumper prizepool in Event #34: $1,000 DOUBLE STACK No-Limit Hold'em as 5,700 players entered the first ever double-stack WSOP event. The prizepool jumped to over $5million, with local high stakes pro Robert Peacock winning his first bracelet and the $644,224 top prize

It was a nice $211,781 and a first gold bracelet for China's Yueqi Zhu in Event #35: Mixed $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Mix, defeating 773 entries to claim the Omaha specialist title

Farhintaj Bonyadi comes out on top in the popular Event #36: $1,000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold'em, to become both the first female bracelet winner of the 2018 WSOP, as well as half of the first mother-son combo of bracelet winners with her son Farzad "Freddy" Bonyadi who has won multiple bracelets!

In the unscheduled 4th day of Event #37: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em, it was a second bracelet for American Eric Baldwin, who also adds a very nice $319,580 to his live earnings.

After an epic 12 hour heads-up battle against fellow American Corey Dodd, Preston Lee is another first-time bracelet winner, conquering all his tables in Event #39: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout for just under a quarter of a million

The unique Event #40: $2,500 Mixed Big Bet saw WSOP regular Scott Bohlman finally winning his first bracelet after a huge 51 previous cashes dating back to 2005, and adding $150,000 to his $1.1million career earnings

Another maiden bracelet was awarded in Event #41: $1,500 Limit Hold'em, this time to Robert Nehorayan who takes his live career earning to over half a million dollars

The three Day 1's of the 2018 WSOP Main Event are completed, bring the total entrants for this year to a huge 7,874, the second biggest ever, including Phil Hellmuth making an attention seeking entrance as usual! The prizepool has been confirmed with the final 9 all winning at least $1,000,000 with this years champion taking home a huge $8,800,000.

It was a huge result for the ever-controversial Shaun Deeb as he wins his third bracelet and a career best score of $1,402,683 in Event #42: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed High Roller which saw some of the biggest names in poker make up the 230 entrants

An unscheduled 4th day of action saw Israel's Timur Margolin winning his first ever bracelet in Event #43: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em and the half million prize money taking his career earnings to around $1.5million in front of a very vocal Israeli rail!

Another championship event awards a first-time bracelet winner, this time Event #44: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship awarding the biggest share of it's spoils to Nicholas Seiken, who has vowed to never play no-limit hold'em again after his $287,987 win!

One of the "faster" tournaments of the series, Event #45: Big Blind Antes $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em comes with just 30 minute levels, and Day 1 saw the 1,712 entries reduced to just 42 to start Day 2, which saw the event completed after just 7 hours of play and only 87 hands on the final table! Spaniard Mario Prats Garcia emerges victorious, grabbing his first bracelet after a heartbreaking 2nd place at last years series!

American David Brookshire can now add a bracelet to his WSOP Circuit ring after taking down Event #46 $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better for just over $200,000!

Loren Klein wins his third WSOP gold bracelet in as many years in Event #49: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed Championship, taking on a star-studded field for just over $1million!
