10NLH AdAh

figured i'd see what you guys think of this hand. it was played on 6-max on unibet so i had to put it in manually:

PREFLOP:
Hero is MP with AdAh and 10.40€ stack
Villain in SB has me covered

it folds to Hero. Hero opens for 0.30€
folds to SB. SB 3bets 1€
BB folds
Hero reraises to 2.57€
SB calls

FLOP (pot is 5.14€): Ts Qs 7d

SB checks
Hero bets 2.72€
SB calls

TURN (pot is 11.44€): Ts Qs 7d Js

SB checks
Hero checks

RIVER (pot is 11.44€): Ts Qs 7d Js 3d

SB shoves for 5.11€

Hero calls

SB shows K9o and wins the pot

my thoughts:

my 4betting size is about 2.5x, which i find make people call more with semi-bad hands exactly like K9o which i do beat most the time.

My bet on the flop is something that im unsure of size-wise. should i bet 3€ or even 3.5€ into a 5€ pot on a flop like this? because i obviously want to get money into the pot, but i dont want to scare too many hands away either.

any criticism is welcome Smile

It really depends heavily on what we know about the villain. If he's bad then betting the turn again would be my preference. He'll have pairs plus draws, and stuff like AQ AJ which might call again.

Against a decent reg the turn is obviously horrible. He doesn't have to raise his sets on that flop in a 4 bet pot because your number of draws will be low. So pretty much we're only beating KK making me want to check.

You're bet size on the flop depends if you want to go over two or three streets. I would go for a bigger flop size so I can shove the turn. I'm interested to hear what the other members think about the turn if we have less than a pot size bet.

I checked for the baseline where we cant jam. When we have a SPR of 0.5 we only need 25% when we get it in.

MP 26.68% 0.89% AdAh
SB 72.43% 0.89% KK-TT, AKs, AKo

So as you can see we have that equity even vs a range of only straights sets and KK. (if we take away KK we obv get under the 25% we need so thats where the baseline goes)

Seeing that he can wake up with a hand like K9o I think it safe to assume he might have some KQ AQ KJ KT that we might get a call from too Smile

Adding all together we have:

MP 53.75% 0.94% AdAh
SB 46.25% 0.94% KK-TT, AQs+, KTs+, AQo+, KQo

If we plan on all calling "every" river I think we might as well shove the turn.

If he is a guy that wont turn hands like KJ KT KQ AQ into bluff on the river we can check turn and fold river he bets and jam river he checks.

@Turlock betting bigger on the flop with the intention an jamming on the turn was exactly something i thought about after looking over the hand again afterwards, but i couldn't tell if it would be a better move Cheeky

@prostaker, not really sure what your conclusion is? that we ought to bet bigger with the intention on jamming the river?

@fanicia size is fine.

If you never folding the river we might aswell shove the turn.

We might get a higher EV line with check turn and fold to river bets and jam if he checks.

Pre: Sizing seems perfect here to me. Typically I would expect villain to have a decent hand when they are three betting from these positions so I definitely like 4betting here.

Flop: Betting here definitely seems best with the intention of not folding. Folding AA on the flop in a 4bet pot is very rarely going to be correct. I like your bet sizing here again, going large in a four bet pot is unnecessary. We will be able to stack villain almost always if he calls and we are ahead either way, the smaller bet makes it much tougher to fold the hands that he is still losing with.

Turn: Turn card isn't great for us, the only hand we should be beating now is KK and AQ type hands. Villain is going to have AK sometimes, as well as a decent chunk of sets. (I would be ruling K9 out here completely in general since it is a fourbet pot - It is absurd that villain hows up with this here.)

River: I would probably just fold here, I would not expect villain to be turning his worse hands like KK or AQ here into a bluff.
