2nl this hand I think it was a good fold

Posted 8 years agoEdited 8 years ago

So this chap is playing 35/27 with a fold to cbet of 30, I get to the river and it just felt so wrong and i was thinking of hands like 109 J10 J9 a10 810 Q10 hand or complete air. I didn't think he had a full house because I would have expected him to x/r on the flop or turn but he either completed a straight or the highly unlikely full house of Qs and 10s.

I folded because I think i was bluff catching, on the river.

I'd have folded as well. I rarely see a bluff on a board like this, but then I rarely call the raise, lol.

I think we could go a little bigger on the flop but that's nothing much, when we get callled the turn bet gets a bit thin for my liking and is a bit large, we wont get folds from anything that beats us anyway so I'd go around 1/2 pot or just a little more if I did bet.

River is a death card, everything got there, chk/f for me, especially to the minraise which is nearly never a bluff.

That's how I'd do it, but we'll see what the big guns say. Smile

I think you played the hand very well. You should try to get as much value as possible so I like the bet/bet/bet line but at the same time most NL2 passive recreationals won't have enough bluff's on the river to justify the call.

It's an easy enough fold on the river, even for a min raise. We're just beating nothing, and there's more combos of hands that beat us than I can count.

Flop and turn bets are standard, and your sizing is good.
