I think check > bet with your range on the flop, because of gap-principle, villains range should be stronger than your range on J44. But in vacuum with KK the bet is okay and not wrong.

As played nice hand, I'd think about and find no reason to shove the Flop.

Hes repping only AA or JJ from a mp call maybe QQ ?, and what worse hands does he check on the turn.
