Easy call for me given positions and 17bb all in.

Fully expect to see 22-77 and random high card hands very often.

I also don't see anything wrong with going all-in here vs. 17bb stack by default.

Its definitely close. Given its BUvsBB i cant see myself folding.

We don't always need to be calling these types of all in due to it being only '17 bigs' as our hand just doesn't crush all his range.

In this spot due to position however it is fine.

As nitty as it sounds, I tend to look for hands I'm willing to go with versus these guys, so I would fold 88 if I thought I was going to fold to the shove anyway. If villain had been busy I'd call it off in this case.

Just a thought about planning preflop is all.

For 17bb I think this is a simple enough call with 88.

Maybe a better question is how wide should we be calling? With no info and at these stakes I would certainly go as wide as AQ+, 66+
