We have AK, so block AA and KK, most of our equity comes from fold equity. I think i prefer to play it differently given that we are deep and you could analyse it that he has 4bet over the top of your squeeze which looks strong so you're flipping at best. Could 5 bet, could jam, could call 4bet and it probs goes in on the flop anyway.

When they make it 50bb pre flop, all logic and poker reasoning goes at the window for me.

I know we should not put them on a single hand but rather a range, but at 5nl when someone invests around 50bb of their stack pre-flop (and they are not a fish) they are going to have AA.

I never advise 3bet folding AK, but if there was ever a spot I would do it, it would be in the above situation. 5nl regs are not going crazy this deep with AQ QQ or even KK sadly.

I don't agree with the block this and block that in these situations, I'm with Harvie on this and AK is a 3bet fold for me and not a tough decision either. Virtually no-one 4X-ing my 3bet to that sizing, from that position, for a laugh; so it's a fold preflop for me to the 4bet. To paraphrase: 'You shove, it's all over baby!'

I hate getting AK in pre at 5NL. I'd only do it if they're super aggressive with 3bets or really loose/spewy in general. When I see someone at these limits even get it in with QQ/JJ, I take a note... I'd be more inclined to go with it against these players but the majority only go with AA/KK from my experience. Even blind v blind

I'd love to see somebody who always gets AK in preflop run a report on these limits. I doubt it's profitable.

I could be completely wrong, I just never seem to be ahead with AK =/

@colly191091 I agree, I think I'm going to stop getting it in pre with AK, most times I'm flipping or drawing to 3 or 6 outs. Most of the time I'm never way ahead. I hear that getting AK all in pre is a pretty standard spot and I guess I don't quite understand why. I don't think it's wise at these stakes when they aren't shoving wide.

I think it's more standard at 20NL+ where 3bet/4bet bluffs are more prominent, more fold equity there.

It's an ugly spot for sure, taking into consideration that we're slightly deep. I often overvalue AK myself in situations like this. I think 3bet/fold is the correct play but I doubt if I'd be able to make it myself haha

I checked my database for all-ins w/AK. I was ahead exactly half of the time, but it's still a net loss so far for 2/3 of a buy in. Maybe at the lower limits we can get it in safely against a small starting stack instead of 100bb, I really don't know. But there really isn't too much light 3/4/5Bets at these stakes. So I think I'm going to adjust at these stakes and stop getting it in and hoping to flip well.

Squeezing is fine. Bad decision to continue vs a 3x 4bet generally. Usually a pretty big tell that the guy is never bluffing.

Even if the sizing was a regular sizing we must also remember that the stacks are deep, so it's unlikely to be a profitable stack off preflop.
